Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Have been using the Queen's Hotel as a base for our workers while they have been working in the area for the last 10 years. Most recently a long stay over several months. Faye & her staff go above & beyond to be helpful. Frequently fitting us in at short notice & has even given up her family's room to be able to accommodate us. The Hotel is clean & comfortable with friendly staff to welcome you at the end of a long days work.

Visited the queen's Hotel tonight as was advised by family I would be able to watch football here The gentleman behind the bar and his regulars were very welcoming and pleasant Unfortunately the female member of staff who I was unaware was staff as she was sitting by fire with feet on the table was less than welcoming I asked the gent behind bar if was possible to turn tv up as volume was very low , he looked to the female for approval to which she turned to me and said its loud enough can't hear myself think which I found to be rude and abrupt had she explained her reasons politely I may have been more understanding but the manner in which I was spoken to lead me to find somewhere else to enjoy the game

Work wise I’ve been staying there a couple nights a week for the last few months. Lovely wee hotel, rooms beautifully appointed and excellent value for money. Fay the owner is just lovely and the place is really welcoming. Great bar with a roaring log fire. A regular home from home.

This hotel, centrally located in Girvan sur Mer is a wonderful find. The rooms are impeccably clean, very reasonably priced and wonderfully equipped. The downstairs lobby, adjacent to the bar, is ideally suited to kicking back with a book or newspaper, with comfortable "club" type seating provided. The bar, which is open to non residents, enjoys a mixed clientele with ages ranging form early 20s to late 80s. Conversation buzzes and folk are very friendly to everyone who visits. There is a television, but it is usually muted, with a subtitle app enabled. Thankfully there is no music, either piped or in a nickelodeon. The log burner keeps the bar toasty and warm during the winter months and fully matches the warm welcome you will receive. The bar is quirkily decorated, reflecting the esoteric tastes of the owner, Fay. The staff who assist Fay follow her lead. The ebullient Sharon is quick witted and efficient whilst enjoying the to and fro of badinage over the bar. Already a succesful businesswoman/owner in her own right, she does the bar work "because she loves it" ~ the very best type of bartender. Jamie, another member of the bar staff, is, in addition, a local man with a wife and young family. Quiet and studious he exudes an aura of confidence and reliability and will pour you a carefully curated pint of heavy with just the correct amount of head. He is attentive and and discreet, but will join customers in conversation, if so invited. This small and professional team has been assembled by the aforementioned Fay who is one of life's total gems......kind, generous and warmhearted she has created a wonderful and rare oasis in a town where many of the bars fall short in all of the aspects in which The Queens Hotel succeeds.A client car park is at the rear. I cannot recommend this business more highly.

My second stay at the Queens was for two years through work commitments. Loved every minute of my stay. Could not wish for better comfort and surroundings. Great wee bar where l spent a few “minutes” in each night and mixed with the locals. Had a great time and cannot thank Faye and her staff enough for the hospitality which was really great.
