Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We can't speak highly enough of Cormiston Farm B&B! My family (myself, 13 and 11 year old children) enjoyed it, so very much. We were only able to stay for one night but wish it could have been more! Richard was an excellent host, as was his family. The farm tour was fun for all of us, the breakfast amazing (one of the best full Scottish I've ever had) and hospitality unmatched! If you're anywhere close, stay here!

I stayed twice in a week, firstly on my way to drive the North Coast 500 and secondly on my return. My logic was that I wanted somewhere nice to stay before 4 days camping in the rain, and somewhere nice to stay on the way back to hep me recover from my ordeal. I also needed somewhere secluded because my 38 year old Land Rover with all my camping gear has a canvas roof and no door locks. I certainly fell on my feet. A warm welcome; large warm room; lovely bathroom and large pot of tea was followed by a pint of cold Scottish Stout; delicious, home cocked, locally sourced 3 course dinner; very well priced and excellent wine; all delivered by the charming and friendly owner. I slept like a log on the most comfortable of beds and then devoured a huge breakfast, cooked to order - no dried up hot plate rubbish here! I left almost wishing away the next 4 days because I was so much looking forward to my second stay. I was not disappointed. The welcome; dinner; wine; room; conversation; shower; sleep and breakfast were just as good as before. I have travelled with work for 18 years, staying in hotels for 50 to 70 nights a year so I have had plenty of experience as a closet hotel inspector. I rate Cormiston Farm as the best B&B I have ever stayed in and probably in the top 3 of places I have ever stayed at. It is also extremely good value. It is full of charm and quirkiness, and a wonderful counterpoint to the bland corporate chain hotels. I will definitely be back and cannot recommend it more highly.

We stayed for a couple of nights at Cormiston Farm in the family room. It was a lovely big room and children’s room, nice bathroom and beautiful views. Richard also provided us with vegan options for breakfast too which was great. We wandered around the farm, met the animals and we felt very at home in the friendly atmosphere. We would love to return one day.

Cormiston Farm is a fantastic place to stay and Richard is a wonderful host. We rented rooms as part of our wedding. The rooms are so spacious and lovingly decorated to reflect their history, but with all the comfort and convenience of today. Richard was always available and no request was too much trouble.

Just back from a wonderful 5 days, Richard is the perfect host, he tries his very best to cater for your every need and his cooking is 5star simple and far better than all those posh restaurants. With each day you relax more in these super natural surroundings.

We visited Cormiston on the way to Skye. Richard is a fantastic host on an amazing farm with lots of activity. There was nothing which was too much for him and he made us feel tremendously welcome. He cooks great food and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal and hearty breakfast the next day before departing. We had a quick introduction to electricity generated by wind turbines; if only we’d thought of this a couple of years ago!! Thanks, Richard!

A super comfortable stay where nothing was too much trouble. The best breakfasts we've had in a long time and a very welcoming host who is also a great cook. The supper we had one night during our stay was thoughtfully produced and delicious!

Fabulous stop-off on a journey North. Lovely house, clean, very comfortable. The food (evening meal and breakfast) was superb, as was the hospitality. Very reasonably priced, too. Great area to explore for children and adults alike. Lovely location. Will be back.

A beautiful Georgian farm house set in rolling countryside, with a fantastic host and incredible food. We highly recommend Richards brilliant cooking, walks around the Clyde Falls and New Lanark, and generally absorbing the peace and tranquility of this incredible place.

Thank you. We love cooking local produce. The local farmers produce such good meat and veg that we don't have to do much to serve it on a plate tasting good.
