Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a really nice break in The Tinto House Hotel in March 2024. We had a 9 month old baby with us and the staff could not be more helpful over the course of our stay. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely and the rooms were spacious and clean. We’d recommend it 🌟

A fantastic 4 night holiday. This lovely and historic hotel has benefitted from significant investment over the last few years. The staff are all great and so genuinely friendly. Nicola,Calumn,Jade and June deserve special mention I stayed 2 extra nights. All in all a great short holiday

We stayed at the Tinto Hotel again last night, and had another excellent experience. The receptionist (I think called Jade) was friendly, helpful and happy with people. She sorted a challenge on how to fit a couple plus our daughter plus two dogs in a standard room - she very kindly gave us an extra room with not extra charge - our daughter was thrilled (especially as our retriever snores, and stayed with us!). The room was very comfortable, with an excellent shower plus tv plus super-king bed plus several double power sockets plus nice biscuits - it was great. We had a great value evening meal (£29 for three including wine), and Pam the breakfast chef went above and beyond by making pancakes for our daughter the next morning - her favourite, with strawberries and nutella. Pam and the waitress were both very friendly and helpful, and kind to our small whippet. We were in the process of driving seven hundred miles from the Northern Highlands, and once again the Tinto was a great experience on the way.

All the staff at the Tinto hotel are absolutely wonderful. To say they are dog friendly is an understatement - they are dog BONKERS! They treat your precious pooch like an honoured guest. They even gave our dog sausages & toast in a dog bowl for breakfast. The hotel grounds are especially lovely with a stream running through and lots of little bridges. The rooms are really nice with fabulous ensuite. This is our third stay at the Tinto Hotel - it never disappoints. We'll be back!

Went with friends to Elvis tribute weekend. Staff were very pleasant, room looked like new, food was really good. We all really enjoyed and met some really nice people. Would highly recommend a tribute weekend and even the hotel for just a stay. I can only vouch for our room as it looks as there may be some refurbishment ongoing.

I’m so glad to see the hotel has finally had an update. It was long overdue. The bedrooms are simple but definitely much better than the old ones. The dining room is nice and bright which is lovely. Food at dinner was also nice and made a big difference to what I was served there a year ago! The only negative really which I hope you change is the breakfast. In previous years breakfast was always made to order. Now there is a soggy buffet in chafing dishes. The scrambled eggs were rubber and the potato scones were so soggy because of the condensation within the chafing dishes. Totally awful. If you are going to do a breakfast buffet in chafing dishes then always leave the eggs out of it. At the very least eggs should be made to order.

What a wonderful hotel; staff were excellent; so helpful and could not do enough. The hotel is nearly at the end of refurbishment, and it looks fabulous. The room was clean and the new décor and bathroom are outstanding, comfy bed. We had diner and breakfast; both excellent meals. Really would highly recommend this hotel for a long or short stay. Big thank you to all the staff.

Booked this hotel for my sisters hen night, there were 20 of us, and we had booked the 90’s tribute night plus an overnight stay. We dealt with Nicola to make the arrangements and she was nothing short of fantastic! She organised everything for us, and was so helpful and accommodating. The rooms, were all very modern and spacious, with comfortable beds. The food, dinner & breakfast was delicious could not fault it. However what makes this hotel is the staff. I have never been in a hotel before that the staff go above and beyond. All the staff were lovely and as previously mentioned Nicola was so lovely and helpful, however a special mention needs to go out to Sandra, absolutely star ⭐️ she literally could not do enough for us. Thank you to all the team we will definitely be back.

We stayed for Hogmanay, the hotel was amazing and the staff were friendly and helpful which really made it feel homely. The party and dinner was more than we could have hoped for it was a great night full of good food and music. Special thanks to Sandra and owner Daphne for going the extra mile and making our stay and experience that much more special.
