The staff were very helpful, the tv in my original room wasn't working so they upgraded my room for the duration of the stay. The honeymoon suite i stayed in was lovely. The hotel is having some renovations done. I would look forward to visiting again when these are completed.

We arrived to the hotel early due to wedding. Receptionist gave us twin bedroom number 27 - nice , lovely decorated bedroom and bathroom was ok. Just window did not shut properly but everything was OK. Nice room. When we went out for dinner we realised we don't have any spare key. Receptionist told us they don't have any spare...

where to start...definitely would not recommend this hotel ,no water in the rooms ,filthy windows with cracked glass ,carpets with ingrained dirt ,décor that's tired and dated with an entrance hall that boasts a fetching zebra print flooring ( dell boy would have been proud) the main front entrance has a carpet that's loose and extends further than the top...

There is no name on the front of the hotel which should have been a warning. Perhaps they hope guests won't know where they stayed? The hotel is under refurbishment and it seemed that only the function room had been attended to in August. There was no welcome on arrival from the sullen receptionist and the ambience in reception was...

Ok, let me get this started. When we came for a wedding and we got to our room. It smelled musty and dingy. Food was average. Water was Brown. 95 QUID? UNBELIEVABLE! Also curtains looked like they had been there for 50 years were falling off. The decor was old and falling apart.

Had our wedding here in August 2016, with our guests pretty much filling the hotel. First off, unfortunately the reviews here regarding the plumbing are largely true. We had many guests with almost no hot water for their overnight stay. Some of our party couldn’t care less about that, so perhaps ask to house your more chilled guests in those...

Awful. Just don't go there. Can't think of one redeeming feature, was over priced, staff poor, damp ceiling, awful shower. My boy thought the roof was going to collapse on him in night. Huge potential though, just need owners that care.

My mother first stayed at The Royal Hotel in 1992 and over the years several refurbishments have been completed. Currently the architects' plans for alterations are on shown in the hotel lobby and Mum was prepared for some disruption as a guest paying £60 for a single room on Saturday September 24, 2016. On entry to Room 35 the sash...

Booked this for a stay with my mother, have walked by the building before and thought it looked nice. Don't be deceived though. The rooms are not good. The bed was squeaking, like with every breath you take. Under the sheets one can see it wasn't new... Not so uncomfortable though, I'll give it that, but I'm a lightweight person....
