Luccis @ bowmore hotel is a great little bar in the centre of Bowmore. After a day's touring, it was a happy pre-dinner rest stop for a beer and a dram. They have a vast range of both local ales and international beers on draught, along with an excellently curated whisky menu. I found the staff to be super friendly and welcoming on each of my 3 visits, even though I had a different beer order each evening. One of the staff even explained the impressive bar wall mural to me. I didn't get to try the food here, as I had pre-reservations in my hotel, but the menu did look good with good portions coming out of the kitchen. This may have been my first visit to (bowmore) / Islay, but certainly won't be the last. I look forward to returning to Luccis & Bowmore Hotel.

Had a fabulous meal last Friday night. There was plenty of options to suit all tastes on the menu. Service and food were excellent and it had a great atmosphere. You have your table for the night so there is no rush. Looking forward to returning next year.

A comfortable hotel in a good location. The room was small but had a very comfortable bed. The bathroom again was small but had a fantastic shower. Food was good although the choice was limited due to a shortened menu. This was due to large groups coming in who were not residents. There is a feeling that outside groups get priority over residents. The staff are all very friendly and efficient. A big call out to Catherine who seemed to be on duty all the time in the restaurant/ kitchen. She was amazing ! If you like your sleep don’t book to stay in the hotel on a Friday or Saturday. There was a lot of noise from the bar till 12 on Friday night and 1am on Saturday night. It was the most expensive hotel stay on our tour of the Hebrides, but not such good value.

Best hidden gem on Islay. Food amazing. We get 2 buses and a ferry each way just to have a lunch here every year. I only have chicken burger. Not special you think. Yes special! You will never have seen such a choice of whiskies!

I had the most fantastic stay at Bowmore Hotel last week, the room was lovely and clean and the shower was amazing! Breakfast was delicious and fresh, and served nice and early so I was able to have a good breakfast before my tour. The wow factor is Peter and the whisky bar, I’ve never seen such an incredible selection and Pete is so friendly and knowledgeable. I am really glad they have chosen to divide the bar, I found the local side buzzing but a very different vibe and not quite so comfortable as a female solo traveller. I felt well looked after by the team and very safe, can’t wait to go back!

Popped in as we had some time before our tour at Bowmore. It was a busy afternoon due to a football match. There was a nice mix of people and the bartender was very polite - some children in as well with parents etc. nice selection of beers on tap. The whole afternoon was destroyed after football began and a group of men in blue rangers tops began to shout “you yellow c*nt” at a Celtic player on tv. This racism was met with no resistance from anyone. We had to leave immediately and won’t be returning. I’m not frequent to Islay myself however my colleague wife does a great deal of work for Scottish Water on the island - she often recommends the island to friends and international delegates however this will stop. This is really is the shame of the island

Staff excellent and breakfast very good as were the evening meals. Room 11 was quite basic but ok for a 3 star hotel with lovely view over the bay and veranda below. Unfortunately, the youth of Bowmore congregate in the bar and are exceedingly noisy and loud with music playing until 12am on the Friday and 1am on Saturday. Whilst this is understandable for the locals it isn't much fun for guests who were paying £210 per night! When raised with the Manager we were told that the place was a bar first and a hotel second - draw your own conclusions! Sunday night was quiet and peaceful

Fantastic two night stay during Fèis. Great room, facilities, food, bar and staff. Twin room with bunks was perfect with comfy beds and excellent shower. Bar reserved space for us on a very busy Saturday night and the food was very good. Staff were all extremely helpful and really went well beyond expectations.
