I never expected to rate the cottages this low as previous service and attention to detail have been second to none. While the cottages and locations are fantastic, the service is well below what we have come to expect, ever since being transferred to the Harbour Inn management. The new web site indicates its cheaper to book for 7 night...

What a shame they have passed the running of the Bowmore Cottages over to the Harbour Inn Hotel and that they are trying to take away all of the special touches that made it such a fantastic stay and feel very special. The ladies in the welcome centre are still as fabulous but it has all been taken out of...

Visited end of November for four days with a friend on a whisky tasting trip. Fantastic cottage, spotless, well appointed and well positioned next door to the Bowmore Distilleries! I am definitely booking again for early next year, when I can come with my wife - she will love it! Only downside is that I hear a rumour that the...

Fabulous, homely ,modern but also traditional. Situated near everything you need the cottage we stayed in was excellent. We were also brilliantly looked after by the staff. Our views were stunning from almost every room, even in chilly November. A sliding door right onto a wonderful garden overlooking the water.

We came back to Islay, after two previous visits, to watch the return of the 60,000 geese that overwinter here, and wanted a central base. Garden Cottage, one of the properties created from old distillery buildings looks out over the central town square, and we were worried that it might be noisy at night - but everyone seems to be...

Stayed here last weekend for our friends 30th. Great little cottage, even got a bottle of Bowmore 12 year old which is a nice touch. Ideal central location for visiting the whole of Islay. Bowmore has everything you need for shops and restaurants. As we overlooked the distillery it's perfect to have our bacon butties then walk out of the...

We were invited by good friends to join them as they had booked the Stillman Cottage in Bowmore. 2 bedroom en-suite with jacuzzi bath and shower in each. Lovely clean cottage. Well situated by the sea loch.. Hotel across the road but is a quiet area. A short walk from the Bowmore distillery. Recommend a tour.

Stayed 4 days in the Stillman's Cottage with 2 couples! Cottages are well equipped! Very good location! Complimentary bottle of Bowmore 12yo and distillery tour for your party. Co-op is just across the road and restaurants within easy walking distance if you want to eat out. Direct acces to the lovely walled garden. Just 2 little minor points: sometimes a...

We stayed in Mashman's Cottage which was quite roomy for 2 people and had a lovely private garden which caught the morning sun. Unfortunately there was a horrible smell in the hallway which no amount of fresh air would eliminate plus the twin beds were very narrow and rather short. One of us is 5ft7ins (which is not unusually tall)...

We stayed in the Mashman Cottage. It is very well appointed, very clean, and very well kept. Pretty much everything you may need is there for you. The only thing we thought this cottage lacks is a place to sit and view the ocean while sipping coffee or a dram of whiskey. Not a biggie, but would be nice. Free...
