The room was extremely clean and comfortable with good facilties. The landlady, Joy, really suited her name! She is a very pleasant and helpful lady. We will definitely be back... More

What a fabulous guest house this is! My husband had stayed here previously whilst on a cycling tour of the island and didn't hesitate to book again for a long weekend. We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome by Joy...all previous reviews regarding Joy are absolutely true. She is a wonderful hostess and that made our stay even... More

The location is great. Very close to the fairy terminal and within a short drive of the airport. It's also a very easy walk to the three distilleries on the south side of the island, there is a very nice walking path from Port Ellen. Joy is the main reason why I would stay here again in a heartbeat. She... More

I had a really lovely stay for my 6 nights in Port Ellen. The B&B is an older building but the rooms and bathrooms are well kitted out and very clean. The whole place has a lovely homely feeling to it. The owner, Joy was fantastic and takes excellent care of her guests, it's also really nice getting some local... More

Joy is just so welcoming and sweet that those 4 days in Port Ellen were truly wonderful for us. We stayed in a room with a nice view into the harbour, the beds are so amazing (I believe, I've never slept so good). Joy really puts a lot of thought and effort to make her guests feel like home. The... More

Joy makes sure you have a great time. We were cyclists and she opened the large wooden doors next to her house to give us access to the yard at the back. Room was clean, bathroom was enormous with a hip bath which I made use of, lovely! Convenient location for both the ferry and the town. Only minor gripe... More

We spent three nights at Askernish B&B in Port Ellen, on the Isle of Islay. It proved to be a perfect base for exploring distilleries and walks in the area. Our room on the ground floor was clean and comfortable, although slightlycozy for two people. The bathroom was updated, and there was plenty of hot water for the shower. Breakfast... More

We found this little gem of a B & B last minute. It was perfectly located near the ferry we were going to depart from early in the morning. Joy is wonderful! She did her best to make sure everyone is happy during her stay. Her breakfast was delicious!
