Stayed over the weekend to visit: rooms are ok basic and clean, bathroom needs a bit of refurbishment to replace creaky baths with a proper shower then you would have room for the sink :) just had breakfast there, good buffet style with normal cooked options but they do overcook the breakfast seems to be a Highland thing :)

I was up in Stornoway on business and stayed at the Cabarfeidh. My room was very comfortable although it had two single beds and I would have preferred a double. The staff were excellent - especially the night staff. The omelette cooked to order at breakfast was first class. However, each morning, the toast was dreadful; cold and soggy. I...

Spent 2 nights here on business and comparing this hotel to my last one in Stornoway was a lot better. Checked in and given room 12 which was of decent size and looked comfortable enough with tea/coffee making etc available and replenished each day.An ironing board was available in the room as well. Room had little view to speak of...

Everything you could want for a short stay on business in the Western Isles. Cheery and helpful staff, comfortable room, reliable wi-fi and, leaving the best to last, some tasty grub. A comprehensive breakfast menu was surpassed by the freshness of the produce - most of it locally sourced - on the dinner menu, rounded off by a cheeky wee...

I went here recently for a leaving party. The staff were very nice and helpful. Although I wasn't keen on the soup of rather day I must say the trio of chocolate puds was to die for. I would go back just for the pudding.

1.) Damaged , bedraggled curtain in room , 2.) No sweetener in room , 3.) Wilted disgusting old lettuce with meal 4.) Breakfast a shambles , no staff , long wait - well done Night Porter ! For the supposed number one hotel in Stornoway there is certainly a lack of attention to detail ! Ridiculous considering what you pay...

Decent stay overall. Room was small single. Clean and functional. View dire out the back of the hotel. Food very good and loads selections of malts and different lager. Access to castle which has a brilliant running route for about 10k.15 mins walk to centre realistically. Told there would be breakfast ready early for catching ferry but there wasn't anyone...

The hotel was very appealing from the outside and we were not disappointed with the interior either. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The room was well proportioned and had a really good, comfortable bed. The restaurant was pleasant and the food was excellent. We had a really good stay in this hotel

My wife and I spent one night here and enjoyed dinner. It's a surprisingly stylish and rather good hotel. When we checked in we were met by a charming receptionist. Very welcoming, very professional and friendly. Dinner was the best I had in the Western Isles over 12 days. Great results room, great service. Highly recommended
