It is not quaint, it is not "traditional" or "typical style", but the Cabarfeidh is well located quite close to downtown Stornoway and they offer very comfortable rooms, an elevator! Yeah. Good food, and pleasant and attentive service. Can't ask for much more. The rooms...More
Had a birthday afternoon tea here in September, the sandwiches and cakes were lovely, sadly the scones were a tad hard. Maybe they shouldn’t be brought out at the same time as the rest of the food, as they come out warm but you can’t...More
This is a modern comfortable hotel with good facilities, a comfortable bed, and plenty of room to spread out. It was clean and well appointed and the food provided for breakfast and dinner was very good. I agree whole heartedly with the previous reviewer that...More

Set within in its own attractive gardens, this modern 3-star hotel is ideally located on the outskirts of Stornoway, just across the road from the golf course leading onto historic Lews Castle grounds. Rightly known as 'Stornoway's finest hotel', the Cabarfeidh (pronounced cab-ar-fay) provides a relaxing base for both business and leisure travelers. It is also bookable for functions or meals in the Solas Restaurant.

I have no idea what the buzzing thing was that obviously annoyed you. I was pleased with my hotel room and the lounge and the dining room, and certainly wasn't concerned about when the front of the hotel was last painted, or even that the letter "F" of Cabarfeidh was slightly mis-aligned.
