The hotel is clean tidy and the rooms are well serviced. The reception staff are helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The restaurant is well payed out and clean. The staff both at breakfast and evening meal times are bakery help full. The only small complaint is the selection of food and the pricing. However saying that all items are tasty and well presented on the plate. I have stayed here many times and it never really disappoints to not return.

We stayed here for 3 nights on a Great Rail Journeys tour. The room was pleasant, although we could have done with a fan. The key cards usually last less than a day, which is a nuisance. Breakfast is good, and the staff are efficient. A special mention to the young woman on reception on the morning of Friday 20th August as she went to collect my missing laundry before our coach left. Service beyond that expected.

Nothing positive to say, rude staff, meal portions were small, you must try the cheese and biscuits it includes a large bowl of pickle, 3 small oat biscuits and i mean small, plus a triangular cheese portion no bigger than the diary lea cheeses, It was a insult to be served it. Rooms were dated

Came to the Cleaver Restaurant for dinner, only had the mussels as not so hungry but they were very good. Husband had the special burger and he said it was good. The lovely thing about here was the prosecco they served in the large round champagne glasses and not the long flutes which I loved and had two, very nice. The place is bit past its best and the revolving door broke down on entering but we still enjoyed it and loved the ambience about the place.

Paid a premium expecting a lovely hotel and stay, but wished we'd stayed elsewhere as ridiculously expensive for what was on offer. Bad taste decor. Mould in bathroom, no bottled water in room, light bulbs not working and terrible view out of window. They offered to move us to another hotel which was very kind and appreciated but we'd been travelling all day and had eaten and drunk alcohol so it was all too much, as was changing rooms for the second night when we were going to be out all day...they did try. Just disappointing and stressful Food good Staff and service lovely - going extra mile for you But the pricing (even with a minimal discount) was crazy. Rooms worth no more than £120
