Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had the pleasure of staying at this excellent B and B for 3 nights. We could not have been made more welcome by Margo or better taken care of. Very comfortable, lovely bed, warm and cosy on a chilly night. Excellent location within easy walking distance of restaurants, but far enough away from local pubs to be very quiet. Slept like a baby. A real bonus is plenty of parking on the safe road right outside. Can’t fault it. Special mention about the breakfast. It was the best of our trip. Good quality ingredients beautifully cooked. And the little nip of whiskey on arrival was a lovely touch. Thank you for a lovely stay and sorry we ruined your dog with the sausages! She’ll probably expect it every day now!

This was a very pleasant bed and breakfast in Stornoway. The room was spacious and had a view over the harbour. The bed was comfortable and the shower efficient. In spite of a main road outside, the room was quiet. Breakfast was good and substantial. The owner was very pleasant and welcoming and interested to hear about all my travels.

We stayed for 2 nights whilst touring the islands, we were greeted by super friendly host Margo who suggested places to go and where to eat and a little insight of what it’s like to live on the Isle of Lewis . The place is immaculate, nice comfy rooms , powerful showers and decent breakfast to set you on your way . Margo clearly loves what she does and that shows , she is very proud of her business and so she should be , would use again if in Stornoway again .

Really big nice room with a lovely big bathroom. The owner was good enough to let me check in a little early (note, check in is 4pm normally, which might be an issue for some). Couldn't be more helpful and professional. Highly recommended.

A wonderful B&B - great little touches to make the stay welcoming. Margo couldn't have been more helpful with directions and suggestions of where to eat, good size room and well appointed bathroom. Hearty breakfast with offers of extra top up on the coffee and toast, a wee welcoming tot of whisky in the room on arrival. Good location too as only a 10 or so minute walk into the main part of town, quiet street, nice views and incredibly comfortable mattress.

Perfect BnB. The room was really good, with the view on the port, the breakfast was exactly what you need to begin a day (continental or Scottish). And the host was really kind and helpful! They have a small shop with Harris Tweed that you cannot find on the official shop and it was perfect for us ! You will find free park place in the road behind. The only small issue, the walls are really thin and you hear your neighbours but really not that awful. We definitely recommend it, we had a wonderful time there.

Stayed 2 nights at Twenty Seven after reading great reviews. We were not disappointed. Very happy indeed with the reception and welcome given by Margo. She was brilliant. The service and helpfulness was very much appreciated. The breakfast was good and the dining room very nice indeed. Our room was very clean, modern and had everything we could have asked for. Great place to have stayed and would have no hesitation in returning. Having dined in the town with mixed feelings about many of the restaurants I would, on reflection, have had dinner made by Margo who would have been happy for us to have had our own wine with the meal. Very happy with our stay. Thank you.
