We had a fabulous 4 night stay at Strongarbh, Jane and Adrian made us feel extremely welcome. The house is stunning, a great deal of thought has been put into the decor, everything is just beautiful and very tasteful. The breakfasts were way above average with interesting specials every day. As a veggie, I was very well catered for, my veggie breakfast was great, and there was lots of fruit and other loveliness on offer.
The position is ideal with great views across the bay, and a small jaunt down into town, via a little walkway.
We had a side room which was small but very comfortable with touch lights and quirky decor …I believe the front rooms are much larger. The toiletries provided were local luxury brands, very indulgent and welcome after a long day walking. We enjoyed our afternoon teas in the library, Jane cooks a mean cake…each one was delicious, and of course a spot of whiskey later in the evening. Adrian and Jane were really helpful and knowledgeable, and I would not hesitate to recommend a stay at Strongarbh.

My friend and I stayed at Strongarbh House for a week in June 2023. I did a bunch of online searching and reading and was very confident with this choice. From the first emailed confirmation that included travel tips and links to recommendations, to the reminder email when ferry reservations opened, to Jane greeting us upon arrival and handing us cakes for the road when we said our goodbyes, we couldn't have been happier. The room was spacious (huge), comfortable, clean, tastfully decorated, and had a gorgeous view. Every morning, Adrian served us coffee, juice, and a delicious hot two course breakfast. We never left hungry. The downside to this was that every breakfast the following week I would sigh and say "Boy do I miss Adrian's breakfast, he sure did spoil us." Our hosts were very accommodating, willing to serve a little early when we had a timeline, and packed us wonderful lunches for a day outing. Location was perfect, just a level up from the main street, making most everything walkable and giving us the beautiful view of the harbor.
Thank you Adrian and Jane for a wonderful week at Tobermory.

At Strongarbh House we received a very warm welcome from Jane. She showed us around the house and to our rooms. The room was very spacious and clean. The bed was super comfortable and the shower very powerful. We had views over-looking the beautiful garden.
We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast which Adrian prepared in the mornings. He was also very pleasant and helpful with places to visit.
We loved the location of the BnB ontop of a hill, with stunning scenery overlooking the Tobermory habour and the house itself was very quiet and peaceful.
We really enjoyed our stay here and would love to come back again in the future.

We have stayed at a few places in Tobermory but this is by far the best. The guest house is in a beautiful location overlooking Tobermory harbour. The rooms were modern and tastefully decorated. The hosts were friendly and very helpful. The complimentary afternoon tea was delicious and much appreciated after a full day of sightseeing. We would highly recommend.

This must surely be one of the best B& Bs in Scotland. Adrian and Jane are the most hospitable and welcoming people. The house has a superb location overlooking the bay and the room was large and lovely and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were delicious and the bread homemade. Great value for money

We stayed at STRONGARBH HOUSE
for 3 nights. The bedroom was large and very comfortable. It was thoughtfully equipped with lots of small items which made us feel at home.
The welcome was warm and the breakfast excellent.
One tip :- follow the 'how to get there instructions' carefully .

We stayed in Room 1 for 5 nights. The room's ambience, view of the bay & ever changing sky was spectacular. The bed was comfortable & the sitting area was a great spot to take in the view while enjoying the in-room coffee. Milk was available for tea & coffee. Locally made biscuits were also provided. Afternoon tea was offered which included wickedly delish cakes. Adrian's breakfasts, which included a daily special, were superior in presentation & flavor. Fruits, juice, coffee, tea, toast, porridge were available in addition to the chosen main. Hosts Adrian & Jane were delightful & ever attentive to making our stay special. They were helpful with information about the area. Figuring out local boat tours was a challenge but Jane really went the extra mile in signing us up for a marvelous land & sea tour with Turus Mara. If there's a memory of our Scotland trip that stands out, it is our stay at the Strongarbh. We wish we would've had more time to explore Mull & stay longer at Strongarbh. Kudos to Jane & Adrian for an exceptional experience!

Strongarbh House is a beautifully restored, impeccably maintained property. The hosts, Adrian and Jane, are totally focused on delivering a fantastic experience to every guest. They host a complimentary afternoon tea, and have an awesome breakfast menu with great variety and daily specials, giving the feeling of being at a high quality boutique restaurant for breakfast rather than a B&B!
We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed the quiet, clean, nicely decorated rooms, with a comfortable bed and private bath. The rooms have individual heat controls so you can ward off the chill if its stormy outside (it is the west side of Scotland, expect damp!). If we should return to the Isle of Mull, Strongarbh House will be our first choice to stay at again!
The house has a wonderful view out over Tobermory Bay, as its located at the top of the hill above the town. This location means there is a bit of a climb to get there from the town, so if mobility impaired a car would be a must. Otherwise its only a 5 minute walk up through the road and back garden to get to the house from town.
The Isle of Mull is a quiet place, ideal for chilling and relaxing. Tobermory is a picturesque town with great photo potential. There are lots of walking trails on the island with the Aros Park trail being a nice one that starts at the edge of town and is a nice stroll through a forested area to Aros Park (approx 2 km, slight climb). Adrian will be happy to suggest other trails as well if interested.
You can rent a car in Tobermory (at Mackay's Garage), but beware that the driving is tricky! Many of the roads between towns are what they call "single track", which means they aren't wide enough for two cars to pass. So they have "passing places" which are short sections that are wide enough for one car to pull over while the other squeezes past. If you do happen to meet another car when both are between passing places, one needs to back up to the nearest passing place so the other can pass. To add to the challenge the roads are pretty twisty turny, and of course, they are driving on the left (an added challenge for those used to right hand roads). Alternatively, you could take public buses and avoid the issue :-)
Sights that are very interesting to see include Glengorm Castle (a large house really, with interesting architecture and wonderful setting overlooking the water), the Sculpture Walk at Calgary Bay (sculptures set along trails in the forest, many created from natural materials, very innovative), and of course not to be missed is a boat trip to Fingal's Cave on the Isle of Staffa (boats leave from Tobermory harbour, and the cave and island are unique lava rock formations, fascinating to visit and photograph)
Getting to Mull takes a bit of coordinating as, if you don't have a car, the most common route is to take a train from Edinburgh or Glasgow to Oban, then the ferry from Oban to Craignure, then the Bus from Craignure to Tobermory. Its about a 7 - 8 hour journey, but when you get there you will be glad you made the trip! The train, ferry, and bus schedules all align quite well but check them out to make sure your connections work.
In summary, Strongarbh House is the ideal place to unwind and relax while visiting on the Isle of Mull. Its friendly, clean, has great food and is a wonderful place to enjoy the view while sipping a wee dram of the local Scotch from the Tobermory Distillery.

we recently stayed one night here on a tour of Scotland - this is by far the most beautiful room we habeas staged in. the decor is simple and elegant, we stayed in the garden view room (has wonderful view of an old boat in the garden). this little touches of the coffee machine, good selection of herbal teas, the iPad and toweling robes were greatly appreciated. the other rooms (the library and lounge) are worth looking in even if it's just to see how beautifully decorated the are.
The breakfast menu was wonderful - thought a nightmare to decide what to have. I opted for the muslei, yogurt and compote followed by the French toast with apple's - all of which was perfectly cooked and was clearly home made and derived from quality produce.
to summarise the owners really know what they are doing, this js a beautiful house which is incredibly well run, I can't wait to return! finally if staying in Tobermorey make sure you dine at cafe fish (amazingly fresh- as they have their own fishing boat!) but you will need to book in advance.

I do a lot of reviews for Trip Advisor and so looked on their site for inspiration for accommodation on Mull, and there you were with your 5 stars. If you have availability, what is the cost? Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.
