We absolutely loved our stay at Arle lodge. It was exactly as described and suited our needs perfectly. Having a kitchen area was really handy for making breakfast, packed lunches and dinner, if you want to travel on a budget. We ended up meeting some great people while using the communal space too. I read the reviews about the thin walls before going, and while this was true, everyone staying was very respectful (I did go prepared with ear plugs just incase). We would definitely stay here next time we visit Mull.

Room Tip:The lodge has a bus stop near it so if you’re travelling without a vehicle it’s still accessible.

It’s a hostel for old folks and not very clean . Very thin walls. No sleep could hear deep breathing never mind snoring! Wasn’t good and wouldn’t recommend at all. The views are lovely and good parking

Paper thin walls, slept terribly. Was able to hear other guests going to the toilet, extractor fans going on, shower doors slamming, conversations, farting and snoring etc. fire alarm light above bed lit up the room. Bed linen dated. Looked all over for a room on Mull and this was the only place with a room left so had no choice. Would not stay here again. Sorry.

This really wasn’t a suitable choice to stay whilst working. The walls truly are paper thin. The other residents weren’t quiet and why should they be. It was a very poor choice. It’s also cold and a bit grubby too to be honest

If you're happy with geriatric youth hostels, it's fine, otherwise don't expect to be impressed. The rooms are clean enough, but seemingly constructed from paper; the noise (however unwitting) from other guests is intrusive every morning. Don't ever expect to sleep past 7.00am. The kitchen facilities are perfectly functional, but if you want anything more than a basic youth hostel environment, you'll be disappointed.

This was the 1st time staying at this type of accommodation & we found it very clean and comfortable, yes some would say basic but they provided towels & hairdryers beds were to our satisfaction. The rest of the accomodation provided was large communal lounge, dinning area and kitchen which provided all matter of utensils, dishes, crockery etc. Its a great place for going out and about and scenery is fantastic, we cant praise Arle lodges enough deffinately be back

The only staff member we encountered was the daily cleaner Tina and she was very friendly. The facilities were good - kitchen fully stocked and generally clean. Parking was free and the location was also very good - because it wasn't far from the main town of Mull which was Tobermory. However, the walls of the lodge are paper-thin and we could hear our neighbours snoring through the night. We also heard all the conversations distinctly - so no privacy there! Running and stomping feet of children were also a regular feature as we believe the family rooms were upstairs - so be warned. If you need to contact the manager, you can only phone him and he may or may not pick up the phone. Generally I would have prefered an office where we could go to and see someone if we need help. But that's the way it was run - so once again, be warned. If there was a similarly priced self catering place in Mull, we would try for that in the future. We paid £444 for 6 nights.…

Beautiful location. Accommodation very basic. Beds uncomfortable and walls very thin. Our room was obviously next to the boiler and we have vibrations in our room every time it was switched on. Though it came with an unsuite but had shared bathroom upstairs and showers downstairs. Social area great with kitchen need another oven 1 isn't enough when all guests are trying to cook there dinner. Signs everywhere telling you not to feed or touch animals and it's a shame as they're right next to you. Main lobby was dirty with cobwebs all over windows . Couldn't find any access to local beach. There's no staff around except in morning and the lady is 1st class , a fountain of knowledge and a hard worker.
