We traveled to the Isle of Mull, located off the coast of Western Scotland, in early October 2019. There was quite a rough forcast of rain and wind predicted for both Oban, (our departure point), and Isle of Mull. We wondered if our ferry would sail, in light of all the wind and rain? But our Caladonian MacBryane Ferry departed on schedule, and it was a very pictureesque trip!

Our goal was to use Main Street, Tobermory, as our anchor residence, before heading out, and driving to various locations, (we hoped to be interesting), around the island. Before arriving at our booked B&B, we received a call from the owner of Harbour Guest House, that the heavy rains, the day before our arrival, had flooded their lodging house. The host family of Harbour Guest House were very gracious in calling around for replacement lodging. We were able to secure a room at the Carnaburg Guest House.

Our stay at the Carnaburg House worked out nicely! The hosts were very gracious! Linda, served a delicious breakfast each morning, in a very attractive dinning area that looks out over Tobermory Harbour. Rain or sun, the view from the dinning area is spectacular. Our room and bed were cozy and comfortable. The location of the Carnaburg hotel is ideal, right on Main St., with on street parking available, (we brought a rental car ... which we believe is a must, to see the island properly.)

I would highly recommend this Guest House and its hosts! You won't go wrong!

We have just left the Carnaburg after an excellent 2 night stay. It’s located on the Main Street of Tobermory with on street parking outside and only a couple of minutes to the free main car park.

Linda welcomed us and gave us some good information about things to do on Mull and restaurants. We were in room 6 on the top floor which had a great view over the harbour. It was spacious, clean and comfortable and was great for our 2 night stay.

Breakfast was very good - we had full Scottish breakfast on day 1 and Linda made us a breakfast bag on day 2 as we had to leave before breakfast to catch the ferry back to Oban.

Everything was as you would want for a B&B so very happy to recommend it to others.

Thanks to Linda and Rob we enjoyed the best 4 days in Tobermory. They are friendly and informative, giving us several ideas for things to do on Mull. The b&b is perfectly situated on the seafront at one end of the high street, the location can’t be beaten. Every morning we were served delicious local breakfasts (either a full Scottish or smoked Salmon) and there is a choice of cereals etc The sea view room (room 6) was spacious, comfortable and most importantly had an unbeatable view right over the harbour. Thanks for a brilliant stay!

Had a fantastic 3 night stay at Carnaburg guest house. Sea view room / guest house overlooking the harbour is just unbeatable in terms of location in Tobermory.
Linda was a brilliant host and everything felt very Covid secure giving us a completely comfortable stay. Rob’s breakfasts were lovely too.
Plan to revisit!

have just returned from a 1 night stay at Carnaberg and I am not disappointed. I have been to mull a few times but have stopped in Salan or Kilninian so have not been used to be treat with such a central location.

The location is perfect, couldn’t be better!
Parking could be an issue at busier times but I have to say we only had to wait 1 day and it was for about 5 minutes and every day we managed to get parked right outside after we’d been out all day.

Linda checked us in, showed us around the room and offered to help in any way possible.

The room was clean and well put together with a big bright bathroom (Room 5) No sea view but we were up and out so it wasn’t too much of a worry.

Linda often asked if we needed anything for the room throughout our stay and we felt very much looked after.

The breakfast was fresh and tasty each day and the views from the breakfast room set you up perfectly for the day.

Only downsides are 1. The bed was quite hard for me and 2. The fact that I had to leave and couldn’t stay longer.

Much loved stay, Thank you

Stayed here for four nights with my sister and brother in law recently. Linda is an incredibly welcoming and helpful host - nothing is too much trouble. Rob's breakfasts are excellent. The rooms are spotlessly clean and sensibly equipped.

Given the guest house's prime location on the main street in Tobermory, Carnaburg represents excellent value for money. Thoroughly recommend.

A group of four of us stopped at the Carnaburg in May 2021 just after lock down eased. The host Linda could not have been more helpful.

Great location and lovely breakfasts.

Not all the rooms have en-suite facilities, which was not a concern to us, but others should check if this does not suite them.

Located right on the harbour front with 'first come first served' car parking across the road, and a large car park 100 metres away.
Our room was immaculately prepared in all respects, and had all the expected facilities. Covid precautions are comprehensive.
A range of cereals, porridge, cooked breakfast or scrambled egg and smoked salmon are the breakfast choices.
Our hosts Linda and Rob could not have been more accommodating, and offered lots of very helpful local information.
We felt our stay was very good value too.

Had a quick break on Mull for photography tours and was recommended Carnaburg as a possible place to stay. Linda and Rob didn't disappoint; excellent breakfasts and a nice single room for a solo traveller that wasn't too small but still a nice size. Perfect as a base for exploring with free on street parking outside. Linda also provided information for possible tours and eating locations, perfect for organising a short trip in advance. Will look to return for a longer visit.

We have just spent four wonderful days at the Carnaburg Guest House in Tobermory which is situated in a prime position on Main Street. We arrived a little early and Rob showed us to our room as Linda had just popped out. He said that he wasn't normally allowed to greet the guests but he did a splendid job of settling us in and explaining everything about the room.
We stayed in room 6, a spacious, double aspect room with fantastic views over the bay. The room was tastefully decorated and had everything that we needed for our stay. The en suite bathroom had a lovely walk in shower and gorgeous white fluffy towels. Everywhere and everything was super clean and we felt very covid safe.
A short while later we met Linda who is the most perfect host and made us feel so welcome. She always had time to chat and check if we were ok or if we needed anything for the room. We really enjoyed our chats at breakfast and she was always interested in our daily plans.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious. A choice of full Scottish or smoked salmon and scrambled egg. We also loved the porridge.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and if we ever return to Tobermory will definitely stay here again.
