Nestled in the hillside, Homeleigh is a modern detached house providing all the comforts of home. Located in the southern peninsula of Skye, known as Sleat, we have panoramic views across the Sound of Sleat to the fishing village of Mallaig, Loch Nevis and the Knoydart Peninsula on the mainland. Homeleigh is within one mile of the Armadale to Mallaig ferry terminal. Close by are craft, pottery and clothes shops, hotel restaurant, cafe and foodstore. We are within walking distance of the Clan Donald Centre (Armadale Castle and Museum of the Isles) which includes a library full of fascinating details of clan ancestry. The Isle of Skye is renowned for its beauty, history, culture and of course abundance of wildlife. There are many opportunities for walking, fishing and 'wildlife spotting' including possible sighting of otters, whales and dolphins. Free Wi-fi internet available.

Wow! What a fantastic place! I had chosen Homeleigh carefully and was not disappointed. It exceeded my expectations! Angus is a delightful host and his B&B is beautifully arranged. Location is stunning (we had a sea view room), the room nicely presented and comfortable, and the shower room, though small, worked perfectly. Breakfast in the lovely conservatory was great, all served by Angus himself, who has that knack of striking a good balance between efficiency and friendliness. We were there only one night, but would have happily stayed longer and would go back in an instant.

Thank you Angus! You were the perfect host! The Homeleigh sat. In a quiet section of Ardvasar, Skye, Scotland. Our room overlooked the water and we enjoyed the sunrise. Room was very clean and comfortable and quiet. Fantastic breakfast in angus's conservatory in the east sunlight. Perfect! First night in Skye!!!

Finnish below / Suomeksi alhaalla: We had a plan to camping, but because of weather we made a decision to stay last Isle of Skye night in B&B, this was first we found in internet and I have to say that it couldn't be a better option. From first contact to last step out, all communication with owner was so professional. Room was very spacious, clean and there was highquality spa products and coffee/tea facilities. Breakfast was excellent and served in nice covered terrace by owner. Very peaceful place locates near of harbor.

A nice b&b . We stayed here for two nights and it was a nice stay. The host is friendly and the room clean and big enough for a pleasant weekend. We discovered Skey for a day and the next day we continued our trip through Scotland having the ferry to Mallaig around the corner.

Wonderful B & B last minute booking due to campsite letting us down. We were pleasantly surprised as we had not had a chance to check any previous feedback. The room was very comfortable included a small settee (very welcome) and the breakfast was lovely. Angus kindly washed our soaking wet clothes (from very soggy trip to fairy pools) for £10 and they were placed outside our room the next day. All in all we were very happy here.

Lovely stay in a spotlessly clean bed and breakfast. Amazing view, friendly and helpful host and the best breakfast I've had on my Scottish trip! Can recommend the local pub nearby for a nice evening meal. Would certainly return here if I got the chance. Thanks Angus!

We chose this establishment due to its glowing reviews. We had written to the owner well in advance, to request a ground floor room and to highlight that I follow a gluten free diet. Homeleigh Bed & Breakfast is easy to locate, tucked in a residential street, close to a restaurant pub. When we arrived, we were a little surprised that there was nobody to let us in. Instead there was a note on the unlocked door, telling us how to find our room (which was indeed on the ground floor) and giving us a mobile number to call in case we had any problems. All the notes posted around the room, such the “House Rules” and where to leave your pre-order form that afternoon for breakfast in the morning answered some of our questions. I reiterated on the pre-order form that I am gluten free, to refresh memories. The room was large and clean. The shower room was well equipped however, we were shocked when the toilet seat lid was raised. Luckily I had a disinfectant spray and wipes in the car so I cleaned it myself rather than call the owner about it, in case he was away due to an emergency. There was also pink mould under the shower mat - not good. I cannot comment on the views because there was a bus parked right in front of our window and it only left a short while before we did the next day. We didn’t meet Angus until the following morning when we went to breakfast. He quickly informed me that he had thought the sausages were gluten free but they were not and rather dismissively told me that he would give me extra bacon, without a hint of an apology. I wish he had not troubled himself because the bacon was streaky, very fatty and mostly inedible, as evidenced by the fact that I left most of it on the plate. The only concession to my dietary needs was 2 slices of gluten free toast. I do not believe that such an experienced B&B owner has not previously encountered coeliac and gluten intolerant clients, neither do I accept that he can become confused by the difference between gluten free and non gluten free sausages: the labels are very clear on all the packets I have ever seen and butchers make a point of marking them out. In our circumstances, the rating is generous but only because the bedroom was clean and comfortable. I expect Angus to protest and to write back that he has never before had any complaints but the truth must be told. It is never nice to leave negative feedback, yet how else can one allow for improvement?

Thank you for taking the time to review my establishment. However, what an unfortunate review it is. I suppose it’s no surprise that after 345 near perfect reviews that one day a "critical reviewer" would come along. Clearly the only genuine complaint you had is that I didn't have gluten free sausages. This was a genuine oversight on my behalf and you clearly forgot that I did apologise quite sincerely for the error in the morning, but as it was over 4 weeks ago that you stayed here, then that could explain why you forgot my apology... I remember you both very well, and remember our conversation in the dining room. Not one bad comment was made then. You appeared to accept my apology for the mistake with the sausages and no other "suggestions for improvement", like the comments in your review, were mentioned. When asked by me if everything (obviously other than the sausages) was to your satisfaction you answered that it was.... (I ask every guest that passes through my establishment this question). If you really had the concerns suggested by your review why on earth did you not mention them to me at the time? For information, I regularly have gluten intolerant guests visiting my B&B and all others were more than happy with the items available on the menu. I will take your criticism on board however and will make some alterations to the menu for future guests, and will obviously ensure that I have a stock of gluten free sausages from now on.

Terrific location on Isle of Skye near ferry terminal from Mallaig. Our party of 6 occupied all 3 comfortable rooms and had it to ourselves. Charming restaurant/bar 100m downhill, perfect for meal or nightcap. Angus prepared a hearty and delicious breakfast for all of us with variety of choices, served in beautiful windowed room with view of water. We would stay again!

Every aspect of my family’s stay was lovely - the decor was beautiful, the furniture was cozy, the details were well-thought-out, the breakfast was exciting and delicious, and the views were spectacular. All six of us have nothing but the highest recommendations for Angus’s splendid B&B.

Wonderful wonderful place to stay while visiting the Sleat peninsula and isle of skye. Angus was extremely helpful and welcoming, and gave us a lot of useful information. Highly recommended! There is a lot to do and see around the peaceful and magical area. The rooms are spacious and cosy and very clean.
