Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked our trip rather last minute (for Scotland reservations) and didn’t have a lot to choose from for a 3 night stay. The Hibredean Inn was a great home base for Skye and easily accessible. The rooms have a great view & there is plenty of open parking across the street. I wish we would have been a little closer to the center of Skye but this was perfect for us.

Hebridean Inn is somewhere between a B&B and a boutique hotel and was a very nice option to stay while visiting the Isle of Skye. Located relatively close to the “mainland” but a bit further from many of the islands main attractions, this is a good place to basecamp for your explorations. We booked a “sea view double” and the view was very pretty and the room was clearly updated recently and nice. The bed was VERY small for two people, so make sure you look at the measurements of a European double if that is your plan. Food was a bit of a let down, it was OK and pretty basic for breakfast even though it tried to be a bit gourmet. Cleanliness was great, but it’s a smaller and older building so you may hear your neighbors a bit if you are a light sleeper. I’ll be the first to admit I’m more of a “chain hotel” person, which isn’t an option on Isle of Skye but overall this was a nice experience and I would probably stay here again!

Comfortable Stayed for one night enroute to Uig Ferry Terminal - welcoming staff, room spotlessly clean and very comfortable, an excellent evening meal and excellent breakfast. Felt the accommodation was a little overpriced at £280 B&B but apart from that, it ticked all the boxes and certainly a very convenient stopping place if you’re heading to Uig to catch a lunchtime sailing.

High expectations which sadly were not met. This place had been recommended to us by a few people and so we had high expectations of the ‘best restaurant’ in town. Sadly it fell far short. There is so little atmosphere in the place and so our dinner hardly lasted an hour. The menu was very limited and was very ‘heavy’. Not much in the way of salads or litter bites. The highlight was the mackerel pate and oak biscuits which were lovely. Unfortunately everything else was dripping in sauces and left us all feeling a bit queasy. The menu doesn’t specify what is included in the dish so we were surprised that the kebab and burgers come loaded with sauces etc. we tried to eat them but they were too greasy and rich. We didn’t stay for dessert. We wouldn’t return. They also tried to serve a flat pint of Skye Blonde. When we mentioned it we were told new gas wouldn’t arrive until the next day. That’s fine, but don’t try to serve flat ales. Not great.

Ate at the restaurant - they were able to fit us in without a reservation, the food (especially the sea bream) was top-notch, and the waiter was very pleasant. I recommend booking in advance or arriving early.

The great: - The view of the Inner Sound from our bedroom. - The extremely friendly staff. The good: - The room itself…fairly recently refurbished, reasonably well decorated, and clean - The parking…plentiful but across the A82. - The on-site restaurant…not incredible, but adequate and hard to come by on Skye, where restaurants seemed few and far between. The not so great: - Outward appearance…amongst the picturesque Isle of Skye, the Hebridean Inn was pretty average looking. - The smell…heavy cigarette smell during check in and a musty smell in the stairwell and corridor had us a little concerned.

Great views from room . Food and drink choice was excellent and varied. Staff were friendly. It’s a fare way to drive to the island’s highlights but I would not hesitate to recommend staying here Especially if you seek a bit of away from the crowds

I'll start with the pros: this place has an incredible view of the sea, the rooms are lovely, when we had to push our schedule out a day due to a flat tire, they were very gracious about it, and the heated towel rack was a wonderful touch. And now for the cons: It wasn't that the breakfast was terrible, but the selection was very limited. There were 2 choices, and both involved eggs. Two members of my family don't eat eggs, so that was an issue. On the second morning, even though breakfast was included in our rate, we went elsewhere. Dinner was equally limited, so we found ourselves going to Portree to eat, which is a good 40 minute drive from the Hebridean, which was exhausting after a long day of hiking and exploring. It would've been really nice to just be able to unwind and eat in the hotel. In general in Scotland, I found most restaurants very accommodating of our food quirks, always coming up with something we could eat. This was not the case at the Hebridean. If I ever return to Isle of Skye, I would stay in Portree, as that is where the vast majority of the restaurants and amenities are, and staying there would've saved us a lot of driving.

Im going to rate the place as very good as the food was excellent and the majority of the staff were great. Unfortunately let down by the member of staff with coloured hair and glasses, awful attitude and really let the place down.
