Hillstone Lodge is a small luxury guesthouse on the Isle of Skye and you can find us easily on the internet for direct bookings. Providing luxury accommodation, offering full breakfast and also dinner options (when booked in advance). Located at Colbost, great views overlooking Loch Dunvegan, close to Dunvegan Castle and within easy reach of all the other sights on the magnificent Isle of Skye. All three rooms feature TV, free Netflix, tea and coffee making facilities, free WiFi, hair dryer, large ensuite with walk-in shower, fluffy bath towels, bath robes and toiletries. The rooms on the ground floor have their own terrace. Both lounge and dining room benefit each from its open fire place - to relax after a long day outdoors. The modern building was designed by award winning architects "Rural Design" in Portree reflecting the traditions and the heritage of the Isle of Skye. Using "green" construction technology Hillstone Lodge is energy efficient, minimising the impact on the environment.

The Hillstone Lodge is outstanding. Its location and accommodations are breathtaking, and the level of service and attention to detail are second to none. Hillstone Lodge is one of a kind. Our room was so comfortable and beautifully decorated that we instantly felt at home. The view of the Loch with the castle was like a fairly tale. We will forever compare B&B breakfasts to Janna’s incredible creations. My husband still raves about the croissants! The personalized service, amazing food, beautiful room in this incredible location can not be missed. Birdie and Janna truly make the experience.

Every positive statement that has been stated in the reviews are true. Greetings at the door, special treats, exquisite details in every room of the house, personalized breakfast menus, isolated setting withe views of the bay, reasonably priced bar menu and superb service. I twisted my foot and Bertie quickly made up a bag of ice to help reduce inflammation. One of the many little things that make for a special B&B. This is what HOSPITALITY stands for. You can tell that this young couple Bertie and Jana with backgrounds in hospitality created their dream B&B. DO NOT miss this incredible experience. Book now. Make their and your dream come true.

I can't begin to describe how special this place is. Bertie and Jana are two wonderful people we were lucky to have had the chance to meet. The time we spent at Hillstone will always be one of our most beautiful memories. The rooms, the views, the way Bertie and Jana took so much care of us, the peacefulness of the place, and Oh the FOOD! Highest recommendation for Hillstone Lodge. Cozy and neat accommodation with beautiful views, excellent breakfast (homemade bread, farm fresh eggs etc. all cooked to perfection) and great hiking tips from Bertie. He and Jana made it a wonderful experience from start to finish. (Btw, it's walking distance to The Three Chimneys restaurant).

Staying with Bertie & Jana at Hillstone was a major highlight from our week in Scotland! Our only regret was that we didn't book to stay longer. Every detail and interaction was thoughtful and luxurious! Bertie & Jana think of everything and provide the most spectacular experience while on the Isle of Skye! Hillstone was the highlight of our Scotland trip! Bertie and Jana were extremely welcoming, personable, and detail oriented. They consistently made sure that we were comfortable, had everything we needed, and that our stay was tailored to our specific visit. The breakfast was spectacular every morning with an equally spectacular view (dolphins and seals in the loch)! The house was clean and modern, yet cozy. The room was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was the amazing. Felt like a 5 star hotel with the personal touch and attention of a small bed and breakfast. Could not recommend this place more. Despite it being more remote, it was close to all the beautiful nature and scenery Skye has to offer. Can’t wait to go back!

One could not want for a better first time experience on the Isle of Skye than we did whilst staying at Hillstone. From the personalized contact with us prior to arrival to the warm greeting we received after a long day’s drive, the owners have taken the utmost care and attention to detail in the furnishings and amenities. Local sourced meets and cheeses at breakfast and freshly baked sweets each evening in your room; bathroom amenities from a company called Noble Isle that where so amazing I have ordered them to our home in Cambodia and the loftiest, warmest bed which you had to fight yourself to get out of in order to explore the isle. We booked two rooms on the first floor. Both came with a cozy patio, which we made the most of especially with the sunrise and a cup of espresso from the in room Nespresso machine. Kudos to the owners for sticking with actual nespresso capsules and not a generic version that so many locations have gone to in order to attempt to impress tourist with an in room Nespresso machine, while cutting corners on the actual coffee. Aside from the perfectly appointed room, the thing we noticed most was how quiet Hillstone is. One cannot hear a single peep from the other occupants. So much of the charm of Hillstone is in its remoteness. It is the ideal location to sit and sip a dram of whisky while on the patio or curled up on the couch in the sitting area. With floor to ceiling windows that look out on the grandeur that is Skye, you will quickly get lost in absorbing the beauty of the area. The owners, out of a great sense of understanding of each guest, make them selves available at just the right time with excellent insight into the area, fascinating stories, and the most pleasant of personalities. We have stayed at several B&Bs over the years that have made us question our decision due to owners who feel a need to constantly be present to owners who are reminiscent of the feudal lord who only makes them selves known for payment or because they feel as though you have done something wrong. The owners of Hillstone epitomize what personal service should be and you always feel as though every need or want is attended to. With this remoteness in mind, one must take care to plan out your meal bookings well in advance. The owners were mindful to mention this when we booked, and I would certainly take heed as we noticied many tourist being turned away from nearby restaurants as they had no booking. To call Hillstone a B&B would be to set our expectations for any other B&B much too high. This is the most well thought out boutique hotel at which we had ever stayed. I truly wish we had spent a few more nights, but alas we had plans in other parts of Scotland. We are greatly looking forward to returning at a later date and would stay no where else. …

All these reviews are completely accurate. What an amazing stay. You will never forget your time at Hillstone Lodge. Bertie & Jana have created something so special and unique. Everything in the lodge is done to a very high standard. You will feel as if you have Skye all to yourself. A view you will remember forever, a breakfast you will miss immediately (Jana I miss your homemade granola and baked goods every single day) and a time you will want to experience once again as soon as possible.
