Located in the Greshornish peninsula in the North West of the Isle of Skye, we are ideally situated for exploring the Isle of Skye, being only 25 minutes from Portree on the East, 15 minutes from Dunvegan on the West and 40 minutes from Uig on the North. The approach to Redwood House, a quiet family run business, is via a 2 mile single track road, skirting the shoreline, with sheep and lambs roaming freely. Look carefully and you may see a Buzzards or other bird of prey in this remote part of Scotland. Once here, its time to start to relax and enjoy the quiet and the breath taking views of Greshornish Loch which may include the occasional otter, seal or heron. Redwood House, your Scottish escape is just waiting for you.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The good: The location is stunning. Beautiful views of the surrounding area. Even driving the single track road in each day was beautiful. Room was spacious. Staff is friendly and lovely. Food at the restaurant is shockingly good. We didn’t have high hopes but found it to be pretty good. (Not available on Tuesdays and wednesdays) Breakfast was a reasonable continental assortment. Bar drinks available The not so great (but not bad!): The furniture and mattress feel dated as did the bathroom. Some minor issues couldn’t be resolved. Overall think of this as more or a b&b than a hotel and you won’t be disappointed.

The hotel is located in a nice spot, but nor hotel nor restaurant represent the warm touch we are used from Scotland. At arrival day, the chef was not around but no info beforehand, that only pizzas will be served. after a long day travel ending far from the next rest house, not a pleasant findout. the rooms are ok, but the damaged rain gutter in front of one them was noisy with rain. staff kept apologizing but that did not solve the issues

Loved the room, location, property and people here. My friend and I were bicycling and found this to be a perfect place to rest after a long days ride through the north end of Skye. Food was GREAT and people AMAZING. We'd go back in an instant!!!

Room was spacious and clean, bed was very comfy. Our room had a sea view. View from hotel is beautiful. Food - The continental breakfast served had lots of choice, we throughly enjoyed this. Evening meal was lovely and adequate choice. We had a great stay at this hotel, the staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend and return to this hotel.

The room we occupied was spacious , with a large and well-equipped en-suite, and the view over the loch was stunning. High quality bed, and the decor was a well-judged mix of modern and traditional. Service was friendly and enthusiastic, and the food was simple but very well cooked, although if you’re a wine lover the choice is very basic. However, don’t expect the country-house experience of overstuffed armchairs and roaring log fires: there is a sunroom with a library, but the main lounge, which is huge and modern with a glass wall overlooking the loch, doubles - or should that be triples or even quadruples - as reception, bar and dining room. Impressive, but unexpected. We were very happy to have spent a couple of nights at Redwood House.

Excellent location, with beautiful sea view from the room. The room is very clean and well equipped. The breakfast was nice. I really enjoy my stay there, little distance from the main room, which make it much easier to drive.

Such pleasant accommodations on the unequaled Isle of Skye. If you like a touch of rural in your travel experience, but with car accessible attractions nearby, then staying at the Redwood House Hotel is a lovely choice. Once on the road, it can get quite busy in August near popular destinations. The staff were accommodating to our late arrival, helpful with dining and beverage options both morning and evening throughout our stay. The rooms were clean, well furnished, comfortable and well taken care of. The chef was a delightful and skilled member of the staff, and we gave her our personal thanks before leaving.

Great base for a couple of days on Skye. Bedroom and bathroom were huge, bright and extremely comfortable. Lovely secluded site on side of loch. Hosts were super nice. Continental breakfast was good- especially the croissants!

Perfect location for a potentially great hotel. Unfortunately guest service and hospitality are non-existent. The place looks tired, corners are cut where possible. Beautiful terrace but not in use, decent size rooms, beds are good. Restaurant is more like a school canteen. No (capable) staff to run the restaurant. And last but not least no running water one morning....
