We we planing a trip to the west coast and highlands in Scotland in late April / early May We decided to stay on the Isle of Skye for 2 nights . After researching our options we decided the The White Heather Hotel in Kyleakin would be our base for that part of the trip. We were glad we did. The White Heather is a small hotel. There are only 9 rooms so it is small and has more the feel of a very nice B&B. And breakfast was very good and included in the room price. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the harbor and ruins of an ancient castle. Gillian was a very nice and helpful person. She was very helpful in using the hotel laundry facilities, advising on the area, and making a dinner reservation at a wonderful small restaurant (Waterside in the Kyle of Lochalsh). And also made a great breakfast.

What words can I use to describe staying in the Glenelg room at White Heather? Tranquil, restful, restorative, peaceful, relaxing. The room is amazing. It's more like a suite. The views are to die for over the harbour and Saucy Mary's castle. The bed and pillows call to me and I'd rather be there than in the pub and that's REALLY high praise. Gillian is the perfect host. Nothing is too much trouble and I thoroughly enjoyed our discussions about politics and the world in general. Add to this a great breakfast and a huge bathroom and you've got yourself the ideal base for Skye and the mainland.

I stayed here while touring through Skye and it was definitely one of the best B&Bs I have stayed in. The staff were amazing and the room was very clean and well serviced. I will be staying here again when I come back!

A lovely B&B hotel, nothing was too much trouble. We were guided to a good Indian restaurant a short walk away fior our evening meal. The views of th enew skye bridge and the hills inland are stunning.

Sitting on the banks viewing ships and a lovely setting that can’t be beat. From the moment of arrival to my departure I was treated and treated in the most wonderful way. Check in and out was a breeze. The morning breakfast had a large selection and was cooked to perfection. My room decor and cleanliness was superb and extremely comfortable. The view from my room to the harbor outstanding. Would highly recommend your stay here.
