The room was recently designed and furbished with modern comfort and an excellent shower room. The breakfast room has superb views down towards the sea. Whilst it is very near to the road onto Skye it is very quiet but with evening meals available within 2 miles.

Stayed here 1 night while traveling the West Coast. Room had everything you needed, including a superb view. Room 6. Because the dreaded midge come in through the open windows, there is a roof fan/light to help you keep cool. That was an added bonus in the middle of the night. Ensuite had a lovely hot powerful shower. Nobody bothered you. Breakfast was a Continental choice, with plenty on offer.parking at door.

Beautifully run establishment worth far more stars than Visit Scotland gives

Amazing panoramic views over Isle of Skye from our window and the dining room/guest lounge

Big comfy beds, lovely clean and pretty rooms and washrooms

Great spot to enjoy the whole island, we stayed 6 days end of May and enjoyed every minute

It is true that there is a wonderful view from the lounge at Blairdhu but wonderful views in Scotland are easily come by.
Its location photograph implies an isolated bungalow when it is actually located in a residential area; our room was tiny; the walls very thin so that you could hear every creak and our bed so extremely uncomfortable so that we slept very badly; breakfast was unimaginative and included long-life yoghurt and very thin coffee. In our tiny bathroom we ran out of toilet paper. Yes we could have asked but we really shouldn't have had to. Fortunately there was a box of tissues. When we came to pay we were told that we couldn't pay by card because the machine was broken and we had to drive into Kyle of Lochalsh to a cash till and back. There was a notice on the reception table about this but we hadn't noticed it and no one pointed it out.
If the owner had seemed even remotely interested in us as guests then I probably wouldn't have written all this - but she seemed very distracted. All in all it was not a happy experience.

We stayed here recently and generally had good things to say about it but mentioned that we thought it expensive and did not represent good value for money.
The owner then sent us a highly sarcastic e mail saying she was sorry that we were disappointed by the cleanliness which we thought was good and the staff who we found charming apart from her! She suggested that there were cheaper alternatives we could have chosen not good business practice I'd have thought.

I have thought hard about writing this report as our 44 days in the UK & Ireland are full of wonderful memories but in fairness to others I will explain our problems with Blairdhu. We booked for 3 nights and arrived about noon. Knowing this was too early we decided to call in just to drop our suitcases off and then go for a drive. When the owner opened the door she became angry and yelled "you can't book in until 4pm". I was gobsmacked. I attempted to explain we only wanted to leave the bags but she was quite worked up and would not listen. Eventually we were allowed to leave the cases but it left us wondering why we should stay there. On our drive we decided to tell her we would only stay one night and find something else. When I spoke to her she said that she had our credit card details and she would charge us for the 3 nights. The B & B was not full so we were not losing her any bookings. I was very unhappy with this attitude but agreed to a compromise of 2 nights but she remained very cool toward us. As far as the place itself. We have continental breakfasts and in this case it comprised only cereal, juice, toast & yoghurt. No fruit. The room was quite nice although small.

As a frequent business traveller, the good quality furnishings and the cold, uninterested approach of the hostess would be most welcome. Her negative attitude towards young children would also appeal, as there would be less chance of being woken by a screaming child.

As a father on holiday with his 16-month-old child, it would have been nice to know that 'Children are welcome', as stated on the website, actually means 'children over an age where they can sleep alone in a king-sized bed and don't need a high chair are welcome'. I say this, as the 'family room' consists of two king-sized beds, with no option of a baby cot, and not one high chair was available. It caused quite a stir when we arrived, as I had only booked a double room, not needing two large beds and planning on using a baby cot - luckily, I had one with me!

The hostess gave us the key. The hostess took our money - 'cash only' was the sign in the bedroom after the first day, despite the website and booking confirmation saying that credit cards were accepted, causing yet more trouble. I don't know her name, as she never told me or talked to me in any way other than to make it known that she was unhappy. No shaking of hands, no friendly chat, no advice about local activities, no appearance at breakfast to do the usual rounds of a hostess and no friendly wishes on departure. When I rang the bell to ask a question, for ringing a bell was the only way to get her attention, her attitude suggested that I was a major inconvenience and wasting her time. I only wanted to know from where I could get cash to pay her!

The young lady at breakfast was delightful. She was most apologetic when the one bowl of strawberries ran out after one family had consumed them all - apparently, no more strawberries could be provided.

Three minor complaints about the room: the sloping roof meant that I had to bend double to use the sink in the bathroom; there was a loose floor tile in the bathroom; and the ceiling light didn't work in the bathroom. I didn't dare complain, though!

In short, a great place if you want to sleep, eat and leave without any interaction from the hostess, but not the 'home away from home' that one expects from a B&B. Luckily for the hostess, her location dictates that she will always have guests in the peek season.

We've seen some B&Bs and hotels on our trip through Scotland, but this one definitely had the worst value for its steep price of 110 Pounds. When we arrived in the morning to ask if we could leave our luggage, the landlady gave us the impression that she wouldn't like to be bothered that early, so we took the luggage with us until check-in (usually not before 4pm as we were told). The room and bathroom were both tiny, the beds were too soft (which is a matter of taste, of course) and the shower took 5min to reach the right temperature. A leaflet told us not to bring Indian food into the room, which we didn't intend to do anyway. Breakfast was quite good, however, but I'm sure you can find more reasonaby priced B&Bs in the area. Hope I won't be called an awful guest now, as in the landlady's answer to another negative review here...

We stayed here for 3 nights during a tour of the west coast and although there is nothing wrong at all with this guesthouse, we did not think that it offered good value. This is mainly due to the size of our bedroom which wasn't particularly spacious and the location, which is very much on the outskirts of the town. The guesthouse is very clean and nicely furnished, the breakfast room is light and spacious and the breakfasts were also of a decent standard, but not the best we enjoyed on our trip. We did not appreciate the laminated set of rules in the bedroom.
