The Blairdhu House was decorated plainly and simply in a non descriptive way, but it was not a complete disappointment, because, after all, it’s on the Isle of Skye!
Pros- The communal room was quite comfortable and had a lovely view. The breakfast was delicious, fresh, and plentiful.
Cons- You felt isolated from the staff because they were in a separate closed off area so you had to ring a buzzer and wait for someone to appear from a closed door if you needed some assistance. There was not much interaction with the guests so hospitality was a bit lacking. The room and bathroom was small and the only window in our room nearly abutted a row of high hedges that had millions of “midges” buzzing around it. So if we opened the window even a crack they swarmed in, and even though they are tiny, their bite/sting hurts and itches.

Needless to say, we most likely would not make a second appearance here.

We stayed here on our 10 trip round Scotland. I can honestly say this was the best place we stayed. From the moment of our arrival until departure, Fiona & Jade could not have been more helpful. Situated in a beautiful spot above a river, with a truly spectacular view. Rooms were perfect, with lots of nice touches. Breakfast was superb, with lots of choices on the buffet, plus a menu with further choices, we were actually spoiled for choice. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend.
After looking at some of the reviews, I would say that if you are looking for a B&B where you stay and mingle with the owners, this place is not for you. The owners have their private accommodation totally separated from guests, it’s actually like two houses joined together. We thought it was a brilliant idea and had not seen a B&B like it before. It felt like a small hotel, with the cosy feel of a B&B, absolutely loved it.

Lovely place with really good communication when booking. Personal email immediately as soon as I booked which was reassuring as we were booking on line after traveling for 3 weeks.
The guest house is fairly new and our room was generous in size. No view at all though as the windows look upward.
Good breakfast with very friendly service.

With Blairdhu House we felt it was worth making an exception.

We only stayed three nights whilst visiting family around the Isle of Skye but wished it was for longer, and that we had found this up to date "gem" before. Everything was fabulous from the welcome to the wave goodbye.
First impressions are important and the landlady greeted us with warmth, and made us feel at home from the beginning.

Being very familiar with the Skye we didn't need much help in finding our way around but she still was as helpful as possible making sure our stay was perfect. As a former local I want things in the Isle of Skye to show it in a favourable light, the Blairdhu House is a shining beacon!

The breakfast was great, freshly cooked as you enjoy the fresh fruit and lots of other homemade goodies and cereals on offer, my husband and I enjoyed the homemade muffins.

The "early bird" breakfast we had on our last morning, where we had to leave early, was gorgeous. We were disappointed that we would missing out on the lovely cooked breakfast, but this was just as nice. The warm croissants were to die for, along with the fresh fruit etc, all beautifully presented in a wicker basket.

The only thing that will stop us staying next time we visit Skye will be the fact that it will be to popular for us to get in!

The location is excellent, one minute from the bridge to the mainland. The room was very comfortable with a great bed. The room and the bathroom were very clean. The view from the breakfast room is breathtaking. The breakfast was hearty and the menu included scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, very tasty. Also freshly baked home made muffins every morning.

We have stayed at many B&Bs over the years, this one rates among the best. Breakfast was delicious with homemade bread, muffins, (the blueberry muffins were so good) lots of fresh fruit, cereals, juices, cheeses, and lots more, you could also choose something from the menu, which had a variety of dishes on offer. Rooms are immaculate, comfortable and very modern. The host was so helpful and kind, recommending some fabulous restaurants that we would never have found on our own. This is a lovely place with excellent decor which is modern yet retains a sense of character. Lovely artworks, comfy sofas and quirky ornaments make it a homely place to stay. Residents Lounge and dining area have the most spectacular view, and when the tide comes in it reaches right to the bottom of the garden.
Easy parking close to the main entrance. Hotels and pub within walking distance. Ideal place to base yourself while visiting the Island.
We even saw a pine martin, this was a truly exciting experience as I had never seen one before, the owner told us it has been visiting every night for over a year. We really enjoyed our stay here and cannot compliment it enough. 10 out of 10.

What a beautiful place this is. I must say my husband and I enjoyed Blairdhu House so much, we are returning again this year in August. We only stayed two days last year, this year we are staying for four. The rooms have everything you need, great big comfy beds, beautiful bathrooms. Fiona the host was very nice and very friendly. When we arrived she could not do enough for us, Fiona really made this a home from home for us. So Fiona you deserve your 4 stars and more. Blairdhu is not your normal bed and breakfast it is like a small luxury hotel!! I was reading one of the coments from people from Albany all I can say is they must be talking about somewhere else thats for sure because I only have one bad coment to make and that is "we had to leave."

We were a bit surprised at first arriving at the Blairdhu. Visit Scotland informed us that it was a four star establishment, so we expected a hotel, or a big mansion or whatever. Actually, it was a pretty standard modern bungalow in a residential area.

That said, the welcome was friendly. We were quickly left to our own devices and we didn't at all feel that we were staying in someone's house. The bedrooms were great and the living room very spacious and well equipped. Breakfast was also very good with a full range on offer including mackerel and kippers.

The only let down was Visit Scotland. When we paid the bill at the Blairdhu we were informed that the Visit Scotland fee was nothing to do with them and the full fee for the B&B had still to be paid. Something to watch out for next time.

My wife and I spent two days on the Isle of Skye, and used the Blairdhu house as our base. The owner Fiona was extremely kind and an excellent hostess. The breakfast was excellent, as well the room we had stayed in. We will be returning again next year for sure.

Made an on-line booking on 02.04.2018 for stay on 16.05.2018. Plans changed and had to cancel the booking within 24 hours. Responded via the link on the booking form, have full evidence in my e-mail account of the e-mail having gone. They took the £240 from my Credit Card for a non-arrival.

Phoned upon receipt of my credit card statement, sent a copy of my cancellation e-mail only to receive a response that accused me of being a liar stating that their IT person did not believe the e-mail to be legitimate.

Not the best Customer Service. I have now had to involve MasterCard in raising a Dispute Claim to get my money back. Something most of us do not have the time in our busy lives to be bothering with, but at £240 I sure as hell am not going to let this one go.
