Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My family of 4 stayed at this B&B and it was the highlight of our trip around Scotland. It blew away the other Airbnb and hotels we stayed in along our way. We actually contemplated adding another night here but missed the cancelation date for our next planned stay along the way back to Edinburgh. The host is great and you immediately are set at ease and feel like you are staying with family. The breakfast was well prepared and tasted great. The sitting/dining room is very comfortable and has tables/chairs, couch/loveseats and TV. The bedrooms are spacious and the bathrooms are quite comfortable. The location is close enough to Portree for the dining options but far enough away to enjoy the remoteness. I have already recommended to friends that are traveling in the next few months and would stay here again when we return! Thank you Shona!

We loved this place. Actually we just wanted to stay one night but the owner Shona made us feel like home and we really didn't want to leave again. It's a wonderful place with a nice view. Close to the shore and to some hills where you can go hiking. The Isle of Skye is more than beautiful. The bed and breakfast is very cozy and the breakfast is made with so much love. We can highly recommend it.

Found this B&B by pure chance as it wasn't listed on Trip Advisor yet but I am sooo glad we stumbled across it! Lovely spot about 5km outside Portree, which is great as I always like to stay in quiter spots. Very new place, so brand new fixtures and fittings, all round very, very comfortable. Lovely breakfasts and great views. The highlight for me, being a big doggie lover, was the resident dog, Sorley! The owner isn't so bad either, Shona! :)

Isle of Syke is not to be missed and we had a lovely 3 x night stay here.

In a stunning setting, just outside Portree, this beautiful house is warm and welcoming. The hosts are lovely people whose kindness and local knowledge made our stay with them perfect. Our room was spotlessly clean and very nicely furnished, with a great view over the loch and hills. The large and comfortable sitting room was ours for the weekend, with large sofas and a smart TV. I cannot recommend this B and B highly enough.

I stayed in Dunlist with my father for two nights towards the end of August and it was absolutely perfect! The interior is brand new, yet warm and cosy, with everything you can possibly need. There is a lovely lounge and breakfast room where you can chill out and the rooms are very comfortable and pleasant to stay in, with lots of natural light and nice views. We also enjoyed the breakfast very much: genuine, freshly made and with a vast choice.
Dunlist is just a short drive from Portree and enjoys beautiful and quite sceneries. A plus is that you don't have to worry about parking, but at the same time you have many restaurants and other facilities within reach.
The best of Dunlist is the great care you receive from Shona! She is always willing to help, kind and smiling! She even took care of our drenched clothes and shoes: well beyond what you would expect! We also met Sorley, the lovely and friendly resident dog! I really hope to visit them again soon!
You can't go wrong with Dunlist!

Modern, stylish, squeaky clean, plenty room for parking, very quiet, amazing views - cannot fault this B&B! Last but not least - delicious hot breakfast with a choice from European / American options. The hostess puts a great deal of effort into making her guests' experience impeccable, and it shows.

Dunlist is just wonderful. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious, stylish and very clean. The B&B is in a quiet place, yet close to Portree. Stunning views.
The hosts are so nice. Mrs McRae was extremely patient and helpful to answer all our questions. We felt at home!

We spent two nights here as a part of a one and a half week holiday around Scotland. This was far the best bed&breakfast we had during our trip. The bedroom, the bathroom, and the whole house in overall was very clean, everything looked quite new and modern, we liked it very much. The view from the room was also fantastic.
The breakfast was really good too, we enjoyed it. The hosts are very kind.
Dunlist is a perfect choice :) Rita and Attila from Hungary

Denlist- everything about our stay was the warmest it could be - the lovely home, the hosts welcome and the hospitality and jim was very appreciative of the generous breakfast as the sea was very cold !! We will definitely be recommending you to Western Australian family and friends!
