Detailed Reviews
This is a beautiful bnb in a family home with complete privacy for the guest rooms. Our room was beautiful and immaculate. The beds were comfortable and the room was warm - something we much appreciated after a day spent in the chilly October weather. And I just have to mention that the shower was amazing! Better than the shower in the room we had at the Old Course Hotel! We stayed at Orchard House for 2 nights about halfway through a 2 week road trip around Scotland. We used this as a jumping off spot for exploring the Isle of Skye. It was central to most everything we wanted to see. Breakfast here was delicious and served in such a lovely setting. Emma and Lance were immediately responsive and helpful when we contacted them in advance for information about Isle of Skye ferry service and about options for getting some laundry done while in Portree. We especially enjoyed the chance to chat and visit a bit with Lance in the morning before we began the day's adventures. A lovely visit in every way and highly recommended!

My stay at Orchard House was perfect. Emma greeted warmly by name on arrival and chatted easily while showing me around. The room was warm, beautifully decorated and very spacious. I especially enjoyed the large tub and all the small touches including local products in the bathroom and fresh milk in the mini fridge.
The property is nice and quiet for a great nights rest and only a 15 minute walk into the centre of Portree. Keep in mind it is up hill on the way back but the walk is manageable.
Highly recommend staying with Lance and Emma at the Orchard House.

Orchard House is simply stunning. From the warm greeting by Hosts Emma and Lance, to the magnificent room (massive king bed + full bathroom with a tub deep enough to swim in) this place is perfection. Added bonus the views from the rooms to the distant mountains are spectacular.
Breakfast each morning in the shared dining room, with plenty of travel tips on how to get the most out of your stay.
It’s a short walk into town mostly downhill, Uber back at the end of the evening is cheap (leave the car at the BnB there is very little parking in Portree in summer.
If you’re looking for a beautiful place to rest your weary legs, in a quiet space just out of town, this is THE place to stay.

We had a very modern, clean and spacious room.
The breakfasts were good and made to order.
Lance and Emma were extremely helpful and friendly.
The restaurants in town were struggling with staffing issues and either not open or fully booked. We brought takeout back to the B&B and they provided plates, silverware, etc in the breakfast room for us.

Our host Lance was perfectly engaging while having an overall “hands off” approach to this intimate experience of a B&B. We were able to conveniently walk into town with a small ten minute walk, so the location was superb. We also were able to crack our windows open to hear lambs during the day, and a steady stream of water rolling by at night. I would highly recommend this place to any small groups or solo travelers.

Clean and cozy, you feel comfortable. Walking about 12 minutes to Portree for dinner, but the trail is a bit strenuous. The Cuillin Hotel nearby I would not recommend for dinner, main course is served without side dishes, 2.5 potatoes can be ordered extra for € 6.5. Otherwise in Portree make sure to reserve a table for dinner in advance, otherwise you search forever until you find a restaurant.

Fabulous quiet location, we've just returned from a 4 night stay in Room 1, the comfy kingsize bed looked tiny in the room and there was also plenty of room in the large en-suite. The furniture and fittings were far superior to anywhere we've stayed before. Lance and Emma are lovely friendly people, and full of local knowledge. Lance's cooked breakfast are a perfect start to the day - we didn't need lunch!! Their covid regulations and hygiene are excellent and well adhered to. Obviously due to covid they didn't enter our room however if we needed anything we only had to ask. It was 10 minute walk to Portree, which was ideal for us staying out of the congestion and parking , if we visit Skye again we'll be stopping here

Orchard House was a beautiful landing place for our adventurous days in Skye. Lance and Emma provided a relaxing, welcoming space and served a delicious breakfast. The room was comfortable, clean, and inviting. The location was perfect- quiet and removed from the main hustle of Portree, but easily walkable to the town for dinner or shopping. We will be back!

We were welcomed by a very friendly host, who showed us to our extremely spacious and comfortable room. All the furniture was good quality and felt new. The room had a sitting area with TV, and the bed linen was luxurious.
The bathroom was spacious and bright, and the whole place was spotlessly clean.
We were give n an excellent recommendation close-by for dinner, and on the morning, breakfast contained good quality ingredients cooked to perfection.
One of the nicest places we have stayed in.

Orchard House is a well run establishment with passionate owners striving to provide an excellent service. Relatively easy to find in a private setting. The room was clean and well prepared and everything explained on check in. Good quality breakfast. Willing to provide those tips that only locals know to make your trip around Skye even better. Provide a laundry service which is great for travellers. Only negative perhaps was noisy flooring in a couple of sections in our room.
