Stayed here for two nights while on a Heart of Scotland tour. This immaculate B&B is on the edge of the town, approx 20 mins walk from the town centre...uphill or downhill depending on which way you're walking! The room was spacious and spotless, with incredible views over the bay, and kitted out with the usual tea/coffee, toiletries, towels, including flannels which was a nice touch. The mattresses and pillows were very comfortable. Our hostess Margaret was friendly, welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was generous and turned out to perfection. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on another visit one day.

We had a lovely stay - Margaret is an excellent hostess! Our room was absolutely spotless and very comfortable with a great view of the bay. Breakfast each morning was delicious. Very quiet and comfortable bed and breakfast, perfect for recharging after a long day on Skye.

We checked in here last night for 3 night. The Gables is beautiful, the furnishing to the view and position of the house. We woke to a stunning sunrise and a very warm welcome crom Margaret. Breakfast was lovely and nothing was too much bother. We are looking forward to the rest of our stay.

My son and I are at the close of a long hiking holiday and were lucky enough to be booked in at the Gables. Margaret was an extremely gracious host and the view across to Portree cannot be beat. Breakfast was delicious and bountiful. Very pleasant stroll to downtown Portree. Much quieter here outside the bustle. Alternate transportation to town is easy and reasonable if you don’t want to walk. Rooms are clean, staff friendly and we loved our stay.

My daughter and I had difficulty finding the Gables but we made it eventually. We were met by Margaret the owner of this very lovely B&B. There is plenty of parking and The Gables has a wonderful view from all angles. Our twin bedroom overlooked the bay with a very nice en-suite. We stayed for three nights on our tour of the Islands. The breakfast was made to order and was well presented. Margaret recommended a laundry in town and as the weather was not too kind to us it was well used. I never got the opportunity to sit in the garden but it was beautiful. We would recommend this wonderful B &B to all our friends. Thank you Margaret for making our stay memorable.

Inconsistent service. The owner treated differently depends on the colour of skin. Cooked breakfast wasn’t good. The amount of orange juice given on the table was hideous which also other tables agreed. We were told to serve ourselves with cereals and fruits but also told not to take too much. Also the owner told us to come to breakfast early because she doesn’t like to wait!!

I stayed for a couple of nights on a business trip to Portree. The weather was bad and I was busy, so I did not get too much opportunity to enjoy the view. As a place to stay it is absolutely first class. A good welcome from the owner, comfortable room and great breakfast. Highly recommended.

Spent 18 days traveling through Scotland, staying at a different B&B every night. The Gables, by far, had the most beautiful views. Just stunning. The property is wonderful landscaped, the the rooms are beautiful. Prices for July on Skye were also very reasonable. Highly recommend.

This is a very nice B&B. It has a great view of the harbor and Portree. It is 3/4 mile walking distance to downtown Portree. The roof was modern and more spacious than some of the other Scottish B&B's we stayed at.

The rooms were clean and well appointed, also great size. What makes this property so special is the views. The yard outside is on a bluff overlooking Portree Harbor and is wonderful to sit in and just have a quiet cup of coffee. The B&B was very quiet - so if you are looking for an early to bed/rise place, then this may be perfect. For us though, it felt oddly formal and not much life - like we were staying in someone else's house. We wanted to stay up and have some wine and we felt like we had to whisper in the lounge. Again, depends what you're looking for. Breakfast was good.
