Detailed Reviews
Stayed here for two nights while on a Heart of Scotland tour. This immaculate B&B is on the edge of the town, approx 20 mins walk from the town centre...uphill or downhill depending on which way you're walking! The room was spacious and spotless, with incredible views over the bay, and kitted out with the usual tea/coffee, toiletries, towels, including flannels which was a nice touch. The mattresses and pillows were very comfortable. Our hostess Margaret was friendly, welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was generous and turned out to perfection. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on another visit one day.

Incredibly beautiful views of the water from our room! So much lovelier than I even imagined it could be. Small but very nice B&B in a great location on the outskirts of Portree, with fantastic views, very comfortable beds, nice bathrooms and good breakfast. It helps to have a car (for the Isle of Skye and for the B&B) so you can get into Portree quickly and tour the beautiful surrounding countryside. The proprietress is friendly and helpful. If you are planning to stay in Portree, I highly recommend staying at this B&B rather than right in town.

Very nice welcome from our host Margaret
The rooms and bedding are very good
Breakfast is in the same line
The view of the ocean is most pleasant
Nb: I think that for economic reasons, the bathtub stopper is not present, but I admit that a nice hot bath after the hikes would have been very pleasant... but that's how it is :)

We had a lovely stay - Margaret is an excellent hostess! Our room was absolutely spotless and very comfortable with a great view of the bay. Breakfast each morning was delicious. Very quiet and comfortable bed and breakfast, perfect for recharging after a long day on Skye.

Beautiful view, nice people, enjoyable stay.
The room was equipped with all we need and spacious, the breakfast room is facing the sea. We enjoyed breakfast in a cosy atmosphere and were helped with tips on where to go in Portree, how to best reach the places we wanted to see and more.
Many thanks, Margaret!

The Gables is a perfectly charming B&B on the Isle of Skye just outside the town of Portree. Margaret is a lovely and fantastic hostess. Had a wonderful room and a great made-to-order breakfast each morning. And the view from the B&B is fantastic!

Superb B&B in Portee, perfect welcome from Margaret, attentive and delicate, very good advice.
We stayed three nights, stylish and very well appointed rooms, excellent bedding, perfect bathrooms, sea view for some rooms. All in peace.
The breakfast was excellent and complete.
Good quality WiFi.
The only downside is that it is preferable to have a car, the shops and restaurants are a little far away.
We can only recommend this B&B in the purest British tradition where we would return without hesitation.

A lovely bungalow located looking over the bay. The garden is beautiful and seating allows you to sit and watch the bosts and wildlife and fauna. Margaret is a wonderfully happy lady who takes good care of her guests. The rooms are spotlessly clean and modern, warm and cosy and quiet. The best part of our holiday in Scotland was staying here. We will visit again.

My wife and I had a lovely stay recently with Margaret at her Gables b&b in Portree. Our room was very comfortable and had a beautiful view of the ocean. Margaret was very warm and welcoming, and we enjoyed lovely breakfasts. It is a little bit of a walk (20 minutes) into Portree…nice on a sunny day. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay at the Gables if we’re able to come back some time.

The Gables was everything we needed. Beautiful view of the harbour from the front yard.
The full Continental Breakfast was more than sufficient and provided a good start for our day. Spacious and clean with comfortable beds.
Margaret provided us with helpful information for dining options and things to see.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Hello, I cannot confirm, as our booking for this b&b was done thru the Heart of Scotland bus tour company. Our stay was for 2 nights.
All furniture and furnishings throughout the rooms and house are very clean, modern and comfortable.
