Ballintoy is a comfortable modern newly built house conveniently located on the outskirts of Portree making our house an ideal destination for business and leisure travellers alike and is an ideal base for touring Skye and the Western Isles. The town centre is about a 10 minute walk from the house.

Day 4 of our driving tour and arrive here. Located on the parameter of town but within walking distance of downtown. A 15-20 minute walk if you are in shape.... downhill going down and uphill returning. Saw a few folks who were staying at other bnb's walking as well. Ballintoy is a modern home with 3 spacious bedrooms two of which were shared with our friends. Coincidentally we met the folks who were staying in the other bedroom at breakfast and they were from Canada as well. Small World. The hostess was pleasant and attentive to our needs. Top marks for this place

Ballintoy B&B is a on the outskirts of Portree. The town centre is about a 10 minute walk from the house. The B&B serves a very nice continental breakfast and the owner very nice to talk to. On one of the main road out of town, travelling or tour north of Portree easy. If we are in the area again we would stay here.

Ballintoy was just as good as our first stay here and would happily return again. The place is still spotless and very well maintained. Gillian and Gavin are very welcoming hosts and the breakfast is varied and excellent quality. It’s a beautiful spot just outside of busy Portree with only a 10min pleasant walk to town. Very quiet at night. Would’ve have been disappointed if we couldn’t get in here again. Thanks guys!!

On the recommendation of another guest house that was already fully reserved, my husband and I booked the Ballintoy for 2 nights, months ahead of our visit. Due to an unexpected flat tire, we arrived after dark. Gillian's husband met us at the Staffin Road turn into the Ballintoy. We could not have been happier with our choice. We had a lovely welcome by Gillian who showed us to our very nicely decorated, ground floor room. Both the room and ensuite bath were very spacious. Everything was fresh, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and quiet. While neither quaint nor trendy, the Ballintoy is just very tasteful and very nice, in a clean, modern way. The family are just lovely people. Breakfast was continental style with lots of choices and much more than enough to eat. There was…

We booked the Ballintoy for 2 nights, whilst visiting friends on the island. We had a lovely welcome by Gillian who showed us to our ground floor room. Myself, my husband and son stayed in the room which was very nicely decorated. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable in general. The bedding was clean and fresh and the beds were very comfortable. The whole place has a very homely feel to it and you can immediately tell it is run with love and care. It's a ten minute walk into Portree with pleasant views along the way. Night two was quite warm so we slept with the windows open - big mistake on our part as we were eaten alive by midges, but there's nothing that can be done about that! The whole guesthouse is very clean and well decorated. Breakfast was continental style…

I was referred to this B&B when I discovered that Portree books out quite far in advance! I am so pleased we stayed here though as the room we had was really spacious and bright with a lovely bathroom and great shower. The owner was friendly too and whilst the continental breakfast isn't much cop, I would definitely recommend this B&B. We walked to town and was only about 10 minutes.

Modern and spotless. We were a group of 6 Canadians visiting Isle of Skye for 3 days. The entrance is private, parking for our 2 cars, delicious breakfast, very comfortable beds in large rooms. We highly recommend.

This was such a nice place to stay. Our hostess was so sweet and helpful. Stayed here two nights while on a tour of Skye. Large room that was clean and bathroom had an amazing rain shower. My husband had a little trouble with the bed frame at the end of the bed because he is tall but otherwise it was a very lovely stay. The breakfast was served in a bright, cheery room with many options. Loved the maps of the area on the wall so we could see where we had visited the day before.

Ballintoy B&B is located in the outskirt of Portree, but the walk to the town centre is not far. The rooms are fantastic, everything is new and the decoration is warm and welcoming. The breakfast was fantastic, with fresh fruit every day! A good start for your walking days. We also loved our small conversations with the family. Our best B&B during our stay in Scotland!

Probably the best b&b we have stayed in. The place is immaculate modern and the decor and cleanliness of our room was first class. The closest we have come to how we live back home. Breakfast is continental only so a refreshing change from the temptation of a fry up. This was excellent with a selecton of meats and cheeses cerials and fruit. Our host Gavin was friendly and helpful with advice on where to eat and what to see and avoid. The b&b is within 15 min walk to portree which has enough eateries. There is 1 pizza place but reserve a table as this is very popular. We saw many dissapointed people turned away. We wanted to see more of the island and took the road to Uig just south of Portree to do the northern loop of the island. This is scenic and allows many photo…
