Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The most wonderful place to stay on the Isle of Skye in Scotland! Gorgeous view of the water with a small dock, warmest hosts of this historical family-owned establishment, decadent meals and drink selection (seriously the best meals I had over our 2 weeks in Scotland), and just an all-around excellent place to stay. Close drive to various attractions like the Fairy pools without being close enough to break the budget. Highly recommend staying here if you are in the area. And what a beautiful area it is! Such a magical isle. Huge Mahalo (thank you) to our wonderful hosts, Lisa and family, who went the extra mile to provide comfort after I sprained my ankle quite badly on the Fairy Glenn hike and gave me a left-behind hiking stick to get around. Can't tell you how much we enjoyed our stay despite the tumble! Hope to come back one day. Aloha :)

I didnt sleep there, but me and a buddy cycled the Hebrides and Skye and came past this Hotel on our last day. We ran out of Water and had to stop. Luckily when we asked a very nice Lady let us refill our three 1-litre-bottles on their tap. Very grateful for the help and the nice lil chat after. Would recommend just on the basis of this experience!

I received the warmest of welcomes at the Sconser Lodge. Lisa is a magnificent host, a truly kind woman who welcomes each and every guest warmly. I dined at the Lodge 3 evenings in a row, and was delighted with each and every dish I ate. Some big dishes with big flavours, yet none were overpowering. The flavours in each dish was very well balanced and the portions were very generous but not too much. I have eaten many a bucket of mussels in my time, but Craig got them bang on the money. His Scallops and Black Pudding - another classic you would find on many menus across Scottish restaurants - was an absolute hit. Alfies sticky toffee pudding was absolutely delightful, I usually struggle with a portion of STP but it was light and fluffy, whilst somehow still being sticky and dense enough, and still packing the datey richness. I doubt I’ll ever eat with a better view ever again - the view that the dining room window at the Sconser provides is breathtaking . A truly magical place with wonderful staff. I will certainly be back to enjoy their hospitality and company again once more.

We have just returned from touring the Hebrides. We stayed at Sconser Lodge hotel whilst we were on Skye and it was even better than our previous stays. So comfy in the spacious Dun Cann room. Superb mattress on the large four poster, modern bathroom with excellent shower, amazing views across to Raasay and along the sound. Comfy armchairs from which to search for otters (no sightings this time but fun looking, using the thoughtfully provided binoculars). The food is so good, so fresh, amazing fish dishes, lamb and steak. The cranachan is the best in the Hebrides. Good wine and beers. I absolutely cannot fault the wonderful service we had. Nothing pretentious, everything you need. Everyone should enjoy this experience. We stayed for 3 nights but it’ll be longer next time!

My review is not of the guest rooms but of the restaurant. I would recommend dinner reservations. Our meal was one of the best we had while in Scotland. The service was wonderful and very friendly. The muscles were wonderful, cooked just perfect. Our only disappointment was we did not book for 2 evenings.

We stayed for two nights in this lovely hotel. The rooms are immaculate and beautifully decorated, the en-suites are lovely too, we had a large shower in our but some have baths with showers over. The breakfast was great with loads of choice and cooked to order. We used the restaurant both night and the food was excellent. Lisa and Craig were very nice and run a great establishment, guests are made to feel very welcome.

Absolutely fabulous place to stay. On the shore with uninterrupted views across to Rasay. Rooms spotlessly clean and very comfortable with super big shower. The food was first class and everyone was really friendly and couldn't do enough to make our stay one to remember and treasure. Our thanks to Lisa, Craig, Norrie and all the staff for a fantastic few days. Would definitely recommend it and we would certainly stay again.

We stayed for 2 fabulous nights at Sconser Lodge. Our bed was super comfy, the location is perfect, right on the sea shore, and the food is lovingly prepared and very delicious. You will not regret it!

Highly recommendable family run hotel if you are going to explore the Isle of Sky. The location is breathtaking. The personnel is extremely kind and friendly. Rooms are nice, clean and bathrooms are new. The food is superb. We enjoyed our staying and it is a pity we only stayed for 2 nights. Very relaxing and quiet.

After a long ride and a bad experience on the camp site (midge attack) 3 of us turned up at the hotel, we were lucky to get the last room. The family were amazing in accommodating us. We had missed the evening meal but they made us some tomato soup and home made bread. Lovely hotel with amazing views across the bay. Rooms were beautifully decorated, we had a great night's sleep. Would highly recommend this hotel.
