We booked up a year in advance to ensure we managed to stay here. It absolutely lives up to its five star reviews. The cottage is beautifully furnished. With gorgeous art, sheepskin rugs, comfy chairs, log burning stove and the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in, it makes for the most relaxing break. Add in the stunning location and wonderful welcome from Marie and Ian, and this really is a special place. There are so many places to visit within easy reach of the cottage. We loved Dunvegan Castle, Fairy Glen and pools, and the many other beautiful sights. Lobster and chips at the Oyster Shed in Carbost were memorable too. A big thank you to Marie and Ian who have created such a special holiday home with so many thoughtful touches.

We stayed at The Spoons for three delightful nights. When we arrived to delicious locally made pies, a wonderful salad and a bottle of wine we felt very welcomed. The little cottage is cosy and elegantly furnished making the most of the textures and colours of Skye, and showcasing the work of local artisans. We were supplied with farm fresh eggs ( from chickens happily pecking on the grass outside) and plenty of other basic supplies to assist us with breakfast. The facilities are all very high quality and extremely comfortable. We loved sitting by the fire, or having breakfast out in the sun enjoying the beautiful outlook and friendly pets. Marie provides lots of helpful information about things to see and do on the island. And only a short walk away you can watch seals sunbathing and maybe even spot an otter! We had a wonderful time at The Spoons and wished we could have stayed longer.

We travelled to Isle of Skye in August 2016 with another couple. At the time, it was a charming boutique hotel with 3 bedrooms, now I believe they are self-catering with more bedrooms. I would stay here again regardless. The owners Marie and Ian were the perfect hosts and catered to our every need (which is probably why they went self-catering as this could be exhausting!). The house sits on a beautiful piece of property tucked back off the main road on Loch Snizort. There were hens, ducks, horses, cats and sheep. There is a nice walking trail through the fields down to the lake.It is a place of serenity and peace. The rooms and bedding were very comfortable, clean, and cozy and we had our own bathroom. We had great views of the property (our room was on the 2nd floor) and surrounding land. Maire cooked us breakfast every morning which was divine and we had homemade baked goods and tea almost every afternoon which was a nice respite after a day of hiking or touring. Our group LOVED Isle of Skye and the Spoons helped to make it a perfect place to visit. One day we'll be back and definitely stay here again. The price was very reasonable and we received so much love and comfort in a spectacular setting. P.S. sorry it has taken so long to write this review, it has been a crazy year with family health issues.

My husband and I had the best experience of Scottish B & B! The hosts Marie and Ian welcomed us into their beautiful house. The rooms are luxurious and comfortable. The guests are thoroughly spoiled by Ian's scrumptious breakfast in the morning as well as Marie's homely afternoon tea waiting for you after a long day enjoying the walks (honestly you can't go too far as you don't want to miss out on such yummy cake & tea!). We stayed two nights and both days we had chance to share travel stories of other guests' and their tips on what to see on Skye. Marie was also very knowledgeable about Gaelic culture and stories of the Island, such a friendly wealth of knowledge. Thank you so much for your hospitality and thoroughly spoiling us!!

We were only able to stay one night at The Spoons, but it was enough to whet our appetite for more. Marie and Ian are lovely hosts, have excellent taste in art and furnishings, and we enjoyed everything about our stay, from our cozy room to Ian's amazing scones. The breakfast was also generous and scrumptious. One last thing: Trust their recommendations! We were able to nab a dinner reservation at Three Chimneys through Marie and it—like The Spoons—is a gem of a restaurant on the Isle of Skye. Highly recommend all around. We can't wait to return!
