Detailed Reviews
Upon arrival after our long road trip Elaine was very welcoming, our room was nice and cosy ready for us. The area was peacefull, calm, relaxing and just stunning!! Elaine offered us we could use her drying room (and washing machine), which was super usefull for us as we were all day hiking and our shoes were totally muddy and soaked!
The breakfast was delicious, we could pick up whatever we wanted, salty/sweet or both :). We made a little lovely fur friend Maisy. Our stay was just perfect!
We did a road trip around all Scotland so we stayed just 2 nights which we really regret. Isle of Skye is just stunning so is this B&B! We will definitely be back with our friends for longer time just to relax and enjoy it's beautiful nature there!
Thank you Elaine for being such a gret host! Hopefully see you again soon.

This is the second time I've had the pleasure of staying at Off the Hill and it's the best B&B I've experienced! It's spotlessly clean. Elaine has taken all the measures possible to ensure it's COVID safe, accommodating 1 bubble at a time to maintain social distancing, and not entering the room during our stay, whilst still ensuing we had everything we needed. The hand gel smelt enticingly of lemongrass, making it's application feel like a luxury! The rooms are beautifully furnished and complete with little things you might need but not thought to bring, like cotton buds, plasters and feminine toiletries. The breakfast was delicious and varied, with so much choice. With notice, Elaine cooked a scrummy fish pie for us one evening when we didn't feel like venturing out in the rain. She would have prepared a picnic too had we wanted it. My partner had a knee issue, and Elaine helpfully advised us on suitable walking routes and provided maps. There are drying facilities for clothes and boots too. The local eateries, pub and restaurants were open and COVID safe. There's so much to see on this beautiful island, with stunning scenery. This B&B is quietly and perfectly located to access it all. Can't recommend it highly enough!

Just returned from short stay here and can only sing its praises loud and clear. Beautiful room with great comfortable bed, very comfy sofa, TV, free WiFi, tea facilities and a lovely bathroom all done to an extremely high standard of comfort and fittings with sumptuous soft furnishings and tasteful quiet decor.
There was plenty of information via books and maps etc to make a very enjoyable and easy stay. A great addition too which was useful and helpful was the fridge in the hallway for guests with fresh milk and cold cans.
Elaine was always delighted to help with any information or questions or suggestions if required on pretty much anything you can think of. Just a lovely and welcoming host and nothing was too much trouble for her and wee Maisie the dog always tottering about looking for attention but so well behaved and friendly made the stay very homely.
Just loved our stay here for everything, it was just so much more enjoyable and homely than an impersonal hotel and we are so glad that we had chosen to stay here , would return in a heartbeat.
Then there was the food, lovely breakfasts each day with a choice of so much and of anything chosen cooked to order in minutes.
Well done Elaine, you and Maisie keep up the good work, you are so much appreciated for all your hard work, you are no ordinary B/B you are so much more
Thank you

Our stay on Skye at Elaine's b&b was one of the highlights of our trip cycling around the West coast of Scotland. The b&b was brilliant - extremely comfortable and warm, and located in a perfect spot half way between the Armadale Ferry and Broadford, and within walking distance of the village, which has an excellent pub with spectacular views over to the mainland.
Elaine was also extremely accommodating and flexible and we were gutted not to be able to stay any longer than we did.
We'd also recommend doing the Ord loop - just spectacular.
Highly recommended!

Off the Hill is a lovely house in a beautiful location, a short drive from the ferry and from some very good restaurants. The rooms are spacious and airy, with a very high standard of decor and fittings. Breakfast is very good, But what makes it extra-special is the warmth of Elaine's welcome and her extraordinary attention to detail in makng sure that her visitors have a perfect stay.

We had the most wonderful couple of days at Off the Hill. Elaine is absolutely lovely and the room was just perfect. Super comfortable beds, lovely laid out room and en-suite and it was absolutely spotless. The breakfast was just delicious - fruit, granola, toast, fresh orange juice, homemade jams and a full scottish breakfast to set you up for the day. There is a great pub nearby too for dinner and drinks. To top it all off, the location is just gorgeous. Thank you so much, we cannot recommend staying here more!

We stayed four nights at Off the Hill B&B in Skye and it was wonderful. The location is excellent and the house is beautifully clean with lovely views all around. It is very comfortable and tastefully presented. Elaine is a perfect hostess and the breakfasts were delicious, served in a nice dining room overlooking the garden and we enjoyed watching a great variety of birds on the feeders. Her little dog, Maisie, is adorable and very well behaved. The local pub, Am Praban on the quay at Isleornsay is a short walk away and is a great place to go in the evening for a drink and meal. We highly recommend Off the Hill. Thank you Elaine and Maisie.

Everything about my stay in September was faultless. The West Room was superb with sofa and desk and very roomy for an extended stay. Spotlessly clean with all the necessary Covid cleaning and sanitisation provisions in place. Elaine and Maisie were the perfect hosts between them although Maisie did get quite enthusiastic at breakfast if I had bacon!! A perfect base for a lot of walking and exploring with Elaine helping to plan routes and with great recommendations. I would say deserves every bit of all five stars and I will be returning!

Wonderful! Elaine and her B&B demonstrate an efficient and professional approach to everything, with a keen eye for detail, yet at the same time a palpably warm and personal manner.
This B&B is spot on in every detail as regards décor, facilities, food and comfort, yet conveys a homeliness that makes it a pleasure to have as a base for visiting Skye.
Maisie the scottie dog is in may ways the star of this place - a lovely friend at breakfast for this solo traveller

The B&B was extremely clean and comfortable. It is in an excellent location. Elaine was a wonderful hostess and she had thought of everything to make our stay special. We stayed in the East room which was lovely. Elaine's breakfasts were amazing. We will definitely return and we would highly recommend a stay at Off the Hill to anyone!
