"An Island B&B with great food!" Situated in a stunning location in rural North Skye, just one mile from pretty harbour village Uig. We offer boutique accommodation in either a stylish yet traditional King Room in the main house or in our luxury Bothy Suite with amazing views! Our place is ideal for couples, the solo traveller or for a group of 3/4 adults together using both our rooms. We give a big welcome, the personal touch with lots of space in a tranquil location. A perfect island escape! We love to cook, so include a delicious two course breakfast with lots of choice. This is served in the main house dining room each morning. Other food like our terrific and luxury local salad picnics can be ordered with a little notice and of course there is always cake! Nearby attractions : The Fairy Glen, Museum of Island Life, The Quiraing, The Old Man of Storr, Dinosaur footprints and much more. Please note: Due to the traditional layout of the house, our property in not ideal for those with mobility issues as there are steps and stairs. We have pets (dogs/cats/chickens) on our property with some unavoidable interaction at times with guests. We look forward to greeting you! Vivienne & Steve

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at the wonderful Abhaig B and B a few weeks ago and the pictures really don't do it justice. We stayed in the garage....I mean, the converted garage which was magnificantly redone and decorated. Large shower with rainhead, heated floors and towel rack, and nice products for washing. A supercomforable bed with views of the peninsula and sunsets. There is a Marshall "amp" bluetooth speaker to play your music thru, coffee/tea, and of course, little treats left by Viv. Honestly, the place was made more special by the friendliness, kindness, and true interest about our day by the owners, Viv and Steve. They seemed to have 10 different things going on but always found the time to chat and offer advice. The morning breakfasts prepared by Viv were delicious and filling. I'm sure Steve helped somewhere in the kitchen so kudos for the toast :) We couldn't wait to get back each night and watch the sunset from our window or even outdoors. You can walk out near the edge of the cliffs ( there is a fence) and take some excellent photos. The B and B is located in Uig which is kind of near the center of Skye so made is easy to go east or west. Of note, if you want to make a reservation at the nearby and superb restaurant, The Ferry Inn, do so well in advance on their website. There is only 4 or 5 tables. We often don't travel or stay at the same place twice but I would stay at Viv and Steve's place again without hesitation. And who knew that Viv was a "Jersey Girl!" Cheers!

Oh my! What a review! I have just read it, then read it again, out loud, to Steve! Fantastic M & B, thank you so very much for taking this time, it means such a lot and we are just delighted you enjoyed your stay here, our touches, our hosting style (haha) and the general feel of a stay here at Abhaig. You are bang on with all your wonderful descriptions for other readers, so thank you for the detail. It goes without saying, we loved meeting you both and really enjoyed the chats while you came in for breakfast. Its true, we do have lots going on, but you guys, our guests are pivotal to that and we really are interested in you all. Who knows, maybe we will see that Jersey Shore some day! Thank you again and sending you best wishes from a very Autumnal Skye! Viv & Steve

We stayed here for 3 nights recently, and had a wonderful time.
The bothy is beautifully decorated, very stylish and with great attention to detail.
Viv and Steve are charming and attentive hosts, and happy to advise about dining options and exploring the island. (Warning: book well in advance for eating out.)
Plenty of information was sent once we made the reservation, particularly regarding Covid regulations, which were enforced well.
(These are also strictly enforced in shops, restaurants etc throughout the island.)
The breakfasts each morning were excellent, (best porridge ever!) with an imaginative and varied menu, using mainly local produce. We didn’t avail ourselves of the supper club option.
The bothy accommodation is very comfortable, with fabulous views. (Weather permitting!) Local toiletry products are provided, which can be taken home after your stay.
On arrival in the room a small flask of whisky, Tablet, (a Scottish fudge like confectionery), little bars of local chocolate, and popcorn were awaiting us.
Tea and coffee making facilities are provided, with high quality tea and coffee.
Viv also left a daily tasty home baked treat! After a big breakfast, we didn’t bother with lunch, but the home baking on our return each day kept us going until dinner!
It’s the thoughtful details like these mentioned that make Ahbaig a truly special destination, and really enhance your stay.
Thanks again for a lovely stay. If we return to Skye, we will definitely book this again.

We love love love reviews like these! Not only complimentary about our place, which of course is fantastic, but also super informative for the next guests, or for people considering a trip to the area. Thank you, we really do appreciate that you reviewed, its a very important part of recovery from the large time of closure due to Covid19 and will help us hugely with future business. We hope you will return to Skye and rebook our lovely wee bothy, we are sure to enjoy hosting you again. Wishing you all the very best and thank you again. Viv & Steve.

I’ve been lucky enough to stay here twice now, and it’s truly fabulous. From its cosy independent setting overlooking wonderful views, the most incredible hosts, who cook the most fabulous food, it’s splendid location and the attention to details. All life’s little luxuries can be discovered inside this Bothy, from the fresh cake delivered daily, to the chocolate mice, to the wee dram of whisky to be enjoyed in the evening while watching the sun go down...it’s magical like Skye itself.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review. Such a lovely review too! We are delighted and so pleased you liked our place enough, to come back a second time. We really enjoyed having you around, lovely catching up after your bust days exploring Skye. Its very pleasing to know that guests are enjoying the food here, now with the new supper-club on the go. We hope you will be back again and wish you all the very best. Viv & Steve.

During our 3 week holiday trip around Scotland we stayed for 2 nights in the wonderful boutique hotel of Abhaig. As the weather was beautiful, we could fully admire the splendid panorama of the shore of Uig from our bed (yes you read it well : from our bed!). Of course you have this panorama also outside from the terrace (where we tasted the whisky and self made cakes Vivienne had foreseen in the logement). The room is in fact almost a fully equipped apartment, tasteful and modern with all the comfort you can desire. But the final touch makes it all . The poetry book with a poem for the day you arrive , the cake made on mother’s way, ...
We also had diner and breakfast for two days. I remember the tajine on the first night the langoustines the second. Marvelous! And the breakfast was lovely too. OMG the younger generation say... Steve, Vivienne’s husband, was always onside to let us taste one of his wonderful wines or bringing in the food. Both play music. Well Abhaig is like the Sound of music. really a little paradise on the isle of Skye: the sky is the limit !

Vivien and Steve (and some good weather) ensured that our fortnight on Skye got off to a wonderful start. The Bothy is an amazing place to stay, beautifully situated and designed, very stylish and comfortable with lovely things to delight surprise.
We are so grateful for Vivien's delicious dinners (served with even more care in the time of Covid), as very little else was available in the area. We ordered locally caught langoustine and she served an enormous bowl with a beautiful salad punctuated with mallow from her garden. We did wonderful walks exploring the dramatic north Skye hills and coast line. When my bicycle gear failed at the bottom of the steep hill on the road back to the house, Steve was able to replace the part in a jiffy! He was the owner of the only bicycle shop on Skye for many years. Vivien is a born and bred local, so their knowledge of the island is especially good. I really hope we return one day.

Ahhh thank you so much! We remember you well and we did think of you over that two weeks after you left, wondering how the rest of your trip was going. We were so happy to have you both here, delighted that you enjoyed the bothy and all that we do to give guests a really nice experience. Steve was more than happy to get back on the tools for you too, glad the bike got fixed and it was nice to see guests using two wheels instead of four. We hope life is treating you both safe and well and maybe we will see you both again. Best wishes Viv & Steve

This Bothy sits next to the cottage of the lovely hosts for whom nothing is too much. The bothy overlooks the
Beautiful bay of Uig with sunset facing views. The large window in the bedroom and sitting out area provides effortless access to this view. The room itself is spotless and beautifully kitted out. Lovely en-suite. Sitting area with free popcorn chocolate bar and Scottish fudge sits alongside the usual tea and coffee just to spoil you. Maps and binoculars for bird watching just give that extra feel of “you matter”. The. Each morning you can enjoy a sumptuous breakfast services by Viv and Steve who just make you feel at home constantly and love to be welcoming.
A little on the pricey side but we’ll worth it

Our time spent at Viv and Steve’s beautiful B&B was one of the biggest highlights of our trip to Scotland. Their setting in Uig is straight out of a novel as their spot on the map is incredibly picturesque and quiet.
We were delighted at how perfectly (and cutely!) the room was decorated. Not only was it comfortable, but no detail was left undone. From the bit of whisky for us to enjoy in the room, to the chocolate and tablet treats in our room, to the towel heater in the bathroom, everything felt incredibly intentionally thought through to ensure our comfort. By FAR the most amazing thing about ABHAIG are Viv and Steve themselves. They gave us the sweetest welcome (complete with cake) and continued being the kindest people and most gracious hosts during our stay. They gave us personalized recommendations, were so communicative, and Viv is one great chef! They are top-notch humans with huge hearts and the warmest home. We left feeling like they were our new friends after having wonderful chats. We so badly want to return to Abhaig! It truly was a main highlight of our trip.

This is an exceptionally good B and B. We stayed for two nights in the am Bothan Dubh ( the black Bothy ) and it was such a wonderful experience. The Bothy is so artistically furnished that it’s a visual feast. It’s also amazingly comfortable to spend time in. A huge window allows a wonderful vista over the land and onto the sea. Viv and Steve must rank as the most amazing B and B hosts…..both offer lots of valuable information on what to do and see, Viv cooks impressive breakfasts and makes lunch-time picnic boxes that are scrumptious, and Steve, just as welcoming, friendly and helpful, alerted us to watching a pair of golden eagles for over 5 minutes. And did I mention the welcoming flask of a single malt whisky and home-made tablet! The combination of the Bothy’s location + the amazing hosts + the stunningly tasty food + the Bothy’s comforts are we would argue an unbeatable blend.

Myself and my partner have just spent 3 nights at Abhaig B&B in the Garden room and absolutely loved it. We even extended an extra night so that we could stay longer!

Viv & Steve really are such fantastic hosts and everything about our stay was flawless - the rooms, amenities, food and location were perfect. The food was the best of our trip, great breakfast options and we really recommend the supper club - restaurant quality food from the comfort of the B&B after a long day of hiking.

After spending 3 days on the Isle of Skye we think the location in Uig is perfect for exploring in the day, some great restaurants nearby and to top it off a great sunset outside the B&B overlooking the water.

Thanks again to Viv & Steve! We’ll be planning a return one day so we can check out the Bothy 🙂

Abhaig is truly one of our favourite places. This was our 2nd visit within a year and we'll be back again. Viv and Steve are truly amazing hosts and go out their way to make your stay special with so many personal touches. From the home baking waiting for you after a day sightseeing to your wee whisky nightcap with home-made tablet, you feel totally spoilt.
The 'supper club' food was amazing and care taken to discuss your likes/dislikes before your stay to ensure you could select your choices from a personally designed menu.
The bothy itself is beautiful and luxurious with amazing views and it is just so peaceful.
Cannot recommend Abhaig highly enough.
