Travellers' Choice
"An Island B&B with great food!" Situated in a stunning location in rural North Skye, just one mile from pretty harbour village Uig. We offer boutique accommodation in either a bright King Room in the main house or in our luxury Bothy Suite with amazing views! Our place is ideal for couples or for a group of 4 adults together. We give a big welcome, the personal touch with lots of space in lovely rooms. We love to cook, so we include a delicious 2 course breakfast with lots of choice served in the main house each morning. NEW for 2020 'Supper Club' - Our guests can now enjoy tasty home cooked Suppers (advanced order & subject to availability). Nearby attractions : The Fairy Glen, Museum of Island Life, The Quiraing, The Old Man of Storr, Dinosaur footprints and much more. Please note: Due to the traditional layout of the house, our property in not ideal for those with mobility issues as there are steps and stairs. We have pets (dogs/cats/chickens) on our property with some unavoidable interaction at times with guests. We look forward to greeting you! Vivienne & Steve

We had the best time at Abhaig! Viv and Steve could not have been more wonderful as hosts. We arrived to homemade gluten free brownies (so thoughtful, as one of us is gluten free, which Viv had made a point of finding out), and other little surprise treats (I won't spoil the surprise!) The bothy is simply beautiful, so elegantly decorated yet warm and welcoming, and the view is simply stunning. The food at breakfast and for the supper club were just exquisite. Viv and Steve were so lovely to chat to and gave us lots of great advice on places to visit. They went above and beyond to accommodate us and it was certainly out favourite place to stay on our Scotland adventure - we will definitely be returning!

Property's Favourite Review
First the 'bed' bit - we have previously stayed in the main house but this time we were in the Bothy; both are beautifully decorated and comfortable but the Bothy has the added benefit of being a purpose built, self-contained unit - perfect for any break but particularly so in these difficult times. Viv and Steve have thought of everything to make your stay a comfortable and relaxing experience. Now the 'breakfast' bit - The breakfasts are delicious and filling, consisting of a choice of options including home made porridge, smoked salmon and the obligatory 'full Scottish'. The latter included the best black pudding I have ever tasted. All of the options come with plentiful toasted home made bread and you can easily skip lunch altogether. If you are up for something a little different, try the Shakshuka for 2 - so tasty! The Supper Club - Viv now offers the option of evening meals; we would have tried this regardless of the current situation but, in the circumstances, it was a life-saver. The meals were all exceptional - Viv using the best quality local ingredients as much as possible. The charcuterie is particularly impressive! Finally, the hosts - Viv and Steve are just the nicest people; friendly, welcoming and considerate. They really go out of their way to make your visit a memorable and relaxing experience. I would like to think that we got special treatment but I am certain they treat all their guests the same. There are too many thoughtful little touches to detail here but, trust me, Abhaig B&B is a step above even the other good B&Bs we have stayed at.

Wow! Thank you really doesn't seem to cut it for this review. We are super delighted! We just love the way you describe everything here, really giving prospective guests an accurate picture of what to expect. Ha ha of course you are special guests, not only because you have been here twice now, but just by the support you have shown us. Though, we have to say, we do give the same treatment to all our guests, its easy, as we do happen to get fabulous folks like you booking! We regularly greet strangers and then wave cheerio to new friends! We are so glad that your trip timed to perfection (just before a second lock down in England) and for your first time in our Bothy, that you really liked it. Thank you for the compliments to the chef too! She is very happy that her inbuilt need to feed people is being used to the full these days and just thrilled people enjoy the eats and treats! Take care you both, we hope a third visit will be on the planner - best wishes from Viv and Steve

Such is the standard of this accommodation and the sheer passion of Viv & Steve who own it that we have another 3 nights to go but I feel the need to shake the pom poms already . Viv &Steve love what they do and the attention to detail is fantastic. The bothy is stylish but still homely and the views from the picture window to die for. We had dinner tonight as part of the supper club option and it was restaurant standard food with a lovely glass of wine on the house from Steve’s own collection .Viv is a great cook and baker and leaves a wee treat to come back to after a days walking as well as other wee treats in the room itself .We have stayed in a few well known boutique hotels over the years and the Abhaig is absolutely up there with the best of them ..

Myself and my partner have just spent 3 nights at Abhaig B&B in the Garden room and absolutely loved it. We even extended an extra night so that we could stay longer! Viv & Steve really are such fantastic hosts and everything about our stay was flawless - the rooms, amenities, food and location were perfect. The food was the best of our trip, great breakfast options and we really recommend the supper club - restaurant quality food from the comfort of the B&B after a long day of hiking. After spending 3 days on the Isle of Skye we think the location in Uig is perfect for exploring in the day, some great restaurants nearby and to top it off a great sunset outside the B&B overlooking the water. Thanks again to Viv & Steve! We’ll be planning a return one day so we can check out the Bothy 🙂
