With its stunning location sat on the hill above Uig bay, 5 minutes from the Ferry Port, the Hotel makes a perfect base for exploring North Skye before heading off to the Outer Hebrides, the Highlands and beyond. The Fairy Glen can be found in the hills just behind the Hotel while the Quiraing, Kilt Rock and the Old Man of Stor are an easy drive around the peninsula. The scenery is spectacular and has provided the backdrop for many films including Stardust, Macbeth, Prometheus and most recently Spielberg’s BFG. The village of Uig is home to Uig Pottery and the Isle of Skye Brewery, both of which have shops on site. The Uig Hotel is an old coaching Inn dating back to 1831. Its owned and run by Billy and Anne Harley, joined by a friendly team including dogs Ziggy and Rosie! The Hotel has 11 warm and comfortable bedrooms, many with sea views, while our sister site Uig Lodge has a further 8 all with views of the bay. The Hotel is pet friendly; dogs are welcome in our rooms and bar area.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The rooms are excellent and modern, comfortable and warm. The restaurant food was good, plenty local options and friendly staff. Excellent views from room too. Weather hasn’t been bad (as I expected) Plenty space for car parking. Highly recommend

What a lovely place to stay . The room was exceptional with the best view . Food was fabulous would recommend to book . The staff have to be the friendliest staff in Scotland . It’s a great base to explore , and you may even get a glimpse of the northern lights . Would highly recommend.

Arriving for late check in staff could not have been kinder and more helpful. Our room was in a lodge annex above the main hotel with good parking. Very clean, decently appointed room with tea and coffee and a lovely view of the bay and waiting ferry. Room was £160 for one night for two, breakfast not included, so rather expensive. But it’s the only option in the village and one imagines they struggle for local staff, so it should be supported. Recommended on the charming staff welcome alone.

I stayed at the Uig Hotel after arriving in a ferry from North Uist, just a short drive from the ferry terminal. I had a cosy single room. Very comfortable, and a really nice view down to the harbour. Food in the restaurant was really good, as I knew it would be from having a meal there two years ago - the venison was my choice. On checkout, I was given a really useful booklet with everything worth visiting nearby. There's in fact more within walking distance than I thought, so I'm sure to be back again to explore more things nearby.

Stayed here due to having an early ferry booked the next morning, it was one of the more expensive of our hotels but we were not disappointed. Originally we were meant to have our dog with us and from seeing how many people had their furry pals with them, it was clear she would have been very welcome. Our room was spacious, lovely with a great view. Food was fab, we followed recommendations of the lady who served us who was very helpful and attentive both for our evening meal and breakfast. Great hotel, staff and food.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Uig Hotel. All of the staff were friendly and our room with a view across the bay was just lovely, pretty, comfortable and clean. We enjoyed a full cooked breakfast with all the options you could want. The highlight of our overnight stay though was the dinner served in their restaurant. The food prepared by Donald the chef was delicious and beautifully plated. We recommend both the clam chowder and the venison but everything was really good. Big thank you to the reception and wait staff Big John, Wee John, Shannon and Louise, who made our stay in Skye very special!

visited restaurant, organisation was a shambles. Copious staff furtively ambling about with no sense of what to do. Was exactly one hour between first and second course. American diners next to us also had to complain about service. Very dissapoining experience.

Hotel with great views, friendly staff. We are a family of 5 adults, booked 1 family room & 1 lodge room. Breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked. Evening meal was excellent, we really enjoyed. Walk to the Fairy Glen after dinner, +/- 1,6 miles, we were the only ones there, made it even more special.

Ate in the restaurant and my meal was luke warm and cold in places. The issue was resolved but no compensation offered. My room was a dark box room which was dirty in places and certainly not worth the £90!!
