With its stunning location sat on the hill above Uig bay, 5 minutes from the Ferry Port, the Hotel makes a perfect base for exploring North Skye before heading off to the Outer Hebrides, the Highlands and beyond. The Fairy Glen can be found in the hills just behind the Hotel while the Quiraing, Kilt Rock and the Old Man of Stor are an easy drive around the peninsula. The scenery is spectacular and has provided the backdrop for many films including Stardust, Macbeth, Prometheus and most recently Spielberg’s BFG. The village of Uig is home to Uig Pottery and the Isle of Skye Brewery, both of which have shops on site. The Uig Hotel is an old coaching Inn dating back to 1831. Its owned and run by Billy and Anne Harley, joined by a friendly team including dogs Ziggy and Rosie! The Hotel has 11 warm and comfortable bedrooms, many with sea views, while our sister site Uig Lodge has a further 8 all with views of the bay. The Hotel is pet friendly; dogs are welcome in our rooms and bar area.

We stayed for 5 nights and can't find anything bad to say. The staff were great, very helpful and attentive. Our room had views over the bay and every time you look out the view changes with the weather. The hotel is close to the Trotternish ridge and the Quiraing so great for walks. The ferry to the outer hebrides leaves from Uig and there are local boat trips out to see wildlife. The chef prepares fantastic food and the local seafood dishes were exceptional. Breakfast was great with a good selection to please all. The bar is well stocked and has a great selection of local Beers Whisky and Gin brewed in the local Skye Distillery. There is also other Whisky and Gins and great beers. The hotel is family run and they make you very welcome. Cant wait to return.

My third visit to this hotel, that says a lot about it. The welcome is great, the location perfect, the rooms comfortable and the food ranks with the best in Scotland. The 'Lamb three ways' was exquisite but may not be on when you come as the speciality dish changes. I was looking forward to the local Skye Brewery real ales served from handpumps on my last visit but found them all served by gas. It was like putting ice in a glass of red wine, spoiled the experience. The food was so good but the beer mediocre at best.

We stayed here for one night as part of a Highlands Road trip, the hotel is situated overlooking the Uig Harbour with a lovely view. The room was lovely and the bed was very comfy and big. We enjoyed a fantastic meal in the restaurant. We took a trip up the road to the Fairy Glen which was lovely and quiet. We would stay here again if we are lucky enough to be back in Skye.
