On arrival we knew we had to check in in the pub/restaurant. Took a few minutes to find somebody to check us in. In a ground floor room this time which was great. A total copy of the Highland Gate. enquired about breakfast to be told the breakfast chef was isolating due to covid, exactly the same as at the Highland Gate. Though the manager here was alot more helpful than at the Highland Gate. Rooms are comfy cosy and functional and for the price and value for money.
We have been in a few times in the last month for breakfast and the carvery. Everything has been great. Nice food and the staff are really good. One day I’d been in for breakfast in the morning then carvery in the afternoon. Our pup Paddington loves the doggy breakfast menu. It’s fabulous to be able to have your dog with you but also that they can get food as well. He loved his scrambled eggs and sausages.
An fantastic experience from start to finish. Staff were very friendly on check in. Rooms were a very good size with a sofa, desk, hairdryer, tv with freeview, bath/shower and the comfiest bed ever!! We had both dinner and breakfast in the adjoining restaurant. Both were brilliant and reasonably priced. Restaurant staff were courteous and prompt with orders. In all a fantastic staycation! We will definitely come back to stay again.
In for the lunch and found that only mum 2 of the staff were wearing masks Some diners were allowed in without wearing masks to get to the tables A pity as they were strict with social distancing and hand sanitiser previously
The hotel and pub were both fabulous, the food was top quality at affordable prices and social distancing was strictly adhered to. Staff are friendly and helpful we will definitely be back thank you so much for an extremely enjoyable stay
