Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great room with lovely view. 5 min walking distance to shopping outlet and 8 min walk to bus stop to Edinburgh. Only negative here were signs in our room telling us to wash hands before and after we leave the room yet for 3 days our soap dispenser remained empty. With COVID rife in society atm that's a big no no... also avoid eating in Tony Macaroni downstairs. Terrible food and a great waste of money. Plenty of other food outlets around.

Friendly reception staff. It was our first time taking our puppy overnight in a hotel, the room was kept clear of anything a dog could damage etc and space for them to play. Carpeted room, however the bathroom wasnt - which meant the pup had a place to use his puppy pad.

My Husband & I had a very lovely relaxing stay.
The staff were all friendly and helpful if we needed anything.Kay the supervisor took time to see how we were & wished us a safe journey home when we were leaving, She remembered us from our many previous stays it was good seeing her friendly cheerful self.
We are planning our next stay to come and do Christmas shopping as the outlets shops are really good to pick up bargains clothes, footwear, sportswear, crockery, gifts and so much more well worth a visit for a couple of days. Stay at the Travelodge with friends and or family they do twin and kingsize rooms at very reasonable prices & their king size beds make for a brilliantly relaxing sleep

I was initially intending to book in for one night but actually extended this to a week! Firstly, the location of this hotel is superb (Retail) and what really sets this out from other nearby hotels is the standard of customer service. The staff have been so welcoming and professional at all times. Housekeeping Management team (Helen, Moira and Kay) in particular have surpassed in terms of providing that little extra touch and standard of care, willing to do all they can and with a nothing is too much kind of attitude, warm friendly approach too. I would definitely recommend this particular hotel to others.

Really great stay. No frills but clean and comfortable very spacious rooms. Staff also very welcoming and friendly. All the rooms were light and airy and the noise was minimum which really helped as I am a light sleeper.

We have stayed here a few times and each time we stay, we're always so impressed with the amazing staff. Yes it's a budget hotel so the rooms are no frills. However, they have all you need if you're barely in your room. Our bed was so comfortable, great pillows, the shower was powerful and we didn't encounter any noise, even though we were in the first room as you enter the corridor. Brilliant location also for the shopping centres. What makes this hotel one we return to though is the exceptional service from the staff. I'd phoned to request rooms on the top floor and the lovely lady who answered told me she'd do her best to grant my request. My phone was on silent and when I lifted it to make a phone call, I noticed I had a voicemail. It was the lady I'd spoken to earlier saying she'd managed to locate me rooms I'd requested. I was just about to phone her back when she phoned me to ensure I'd received my message. This lady went above and beyond to provide amazing service. Her name was Kay. We encountered another two ladies on reception and like Kay, both were so helpful, warm and friendly. Their names were Moira and Sarah. All these ladies are a total credit to the Travelodge brand. Thanks to all 3 for all they did for us.

Although we are in midst of a pandemic, with lower staffing levels being applied, the levels of service are extremely pathetic.

Having been charged £950 for an eight night stay - My wife was rather put back, when asking for some additional milk for the room she was advised by the receptionist ”there is Asda up the road”

This does not smack of reasonable customer service for an average price of more than £100 per night in a Travelodge.

Keep away, or stay if you want expensive poor customer service.

On check in, having answered no to never staying there before, the information provided was basically my room number and floor. I had to ask about breakfast, where it was served, guess for myself there was no dining area, reception was not manned and a telephone number had to be called if attention was required. Did not know check out time and no telephone in room to call reception. Hand wash dispenser at sink in bathroom was completely empty! Simply cannot recommend but I would recommend the Marston’s Chain Runner very close by as stated there before and was lovely!
