Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Corriness Guest house was a welcome break from camping whilst doing the North Coast 500.
The house was beautifully clean and breakfast hearty and tasty using local ingredients.
Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend.

We stayed here June 20th 2023 for one night room was clean bathroom lovely we stayed in a room on the first floor back of the house would recommend you book dinner at the hotel in poolewe as limited on places to eat we managed to get a meal there. Nice little village with great views. Breakfast was full Scottish plenty of these to choose from. Just one little niggle mattress wasn’t very comfy and cheap lumpy pillows.overall a pleasant stay.

We stayed at Corriness House for 1 night whilst travelling the NC500 route. Our host was welcoming and friendly and managed everything from check-in to cooking breakfast the next morning. Our room was on the 1st floor and if you are quite tall you need to duck but there is signage above the doorway. (My husband still managed to hit his head). The room was lovely, spacious, clean and the shower had really good pressure. Breakfast was included in the rate and there was a good selection of hot dishes to choose from. We couldn’t fault our stay and would recommend this property if you are staying in Poolewe.

This was the first night of our NC500 jaunt. Ross was very welcoming and helpful, and Corriness House itself is very comfortable and beautifully situated. Our room was spotless as was the toilet/shower room, and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast the following day was served in the dining room. It was well cooked, the service was friendly and efficient, and there are some lovely walks along the river and the Loch. A great place to stay. If you’re looking for somewhere to eat we can heartily recommend the Myrtle Bank at Gairloch.

We stayed just for one night but we felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. Greeted by the owner in a COVID safe way and informed of our room, places to eat in the area etc.
We had room 4 which was upstairs with a beautiful view of the garden and hills behind. The room was cosy and clean and felt very homely.
Breakfast was in the beautiful dining room downstairs and was very tasty! I asked for dairy free milk which they catered for, nothing felt like too much trouble.
We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others.
Lovely hosts, home and location

We loved this guest house in Poolewe. Ross and Louise have taken over Ross' parents guest house and have renovated it to a very high standard. We were in rooms 3 & 4 and were delighted with the high standard of decoration and thoughtful touches.
Breakfast was sumptuous and Ross was happy to pass on tips of what and where to visit .A great stay.

Ross and Louise were great hosts who welcomed us into their beautiful house. We were in room 6 which was spacious and had a separate small walk in wardrobe which was an added bonus for storing our bags and jackets. The bedroom was lovely and great en suite with powerful shower. Breakfast was really good quality and there was an added bonus of some fresh pancakes! Would not hesitate to recommend.

The guest house is a jewel, an old house, perfectly refurbished maintaining its original characteristics. Every detail is deeply cared, the rooms are elegant, the bathroom comfortable.
Ross is a perfect host, he welcomes warmly, helping to find where to have dinner (some days in advance of the arrival). Very good and complete breakfast.

Like many others we were doing the NC500 and this B&B was superb. Great welcome, light and airy room with pristine facilities. With no mobile signal the free wifi kept us in contact with the family. A really good breakfast got us off to a good start for the next day. Would love to come again.

We were really impressed with Corriness House, and the care that Ross & Louise gave to the house. Wonderfully decorated and laid out. The room was a good size with large bathroom. The care they gave to the house was carried over to the attention given to us from the communications, the check-in and the served breakfast. The House is about a five minute drive to Inverwere Gardens so great if that is one's reason to visit Westeross. Beyond Ross and Louise's control was the absence of any local restaurants for dinner which meant a 10-20 minute drive into Gairloch area but the again, we knew that in advance. Would highly recommend.
