This charming Guest House in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park is run by Grant & Maria Mason and sits in a secluded location within the historic village of Braemar in Royal Deeside. Surrounded by mountains the property overlooks the famous Braemar Highland Games Gathering arena and is only yards from the Royal Pavilion. Recently refurbished the property offers a warm and friendly welcome, comfortable accommodation, fresh home cooked Breakfasts and is the ideal base for outdoor activities all year round. We have an outside seating area (weather permitting) with fabulous views over the Highland Games arena. Dogs are also welcome in this area. There is ample parking in our private car park for cars, Mini Buses and motor cycles, and we have drying facilities for wet clothing and lockable storage for bikes. Please note The Moorfield is now Accommodation ONLY. Our Bar & Restaurant has moved to a new site in the center of the village (10 minutes walk) this allows us to offer our guests a truly peaceful relaxed environment to unwind after a long day travelling or walking in the hills. As guests staying with us if you eat or drink in our new Restaurant & Bar called The Cairn Grill we offer a 10% discount on your bill by showing your room key to staff down the road.

Stayed here in September on a mountain biking holiday through Scotland. Lovely hotel. Owner extremely helpful in getting all of our horrible smelly wet cycling gear dry in her own part of the hose. Phenomenal showers. Highly recommended

Lovely place with beautiful setting. Good breakfast. Room was very small and ensuite really wasn't big enough. No storage for belongs and basically couldn't swing a cat round! OK if you are staying a night but we stayed considerably longer. Would not stay again. Also no TV in room and smell of damp on landing.

Sadly was only able to stay one night - would have liked to stay longer as it was very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. Fresh croissants and pain au chocolat for continental breakfast. Rooms do not have TVs but there is a very comfortable lounge where we were able to watch TV.

Room 4 , yet again a comfy room overlooking the Games arena in Braemar, Very stylish breakfast room with views into the garden. All set in a quiet area down a track but with easy access in to the village. Good breakfast and lovely hosts, who also run the Cairn Bar & grill in the village where we ate for the 2 nights of our stay.

If all guest houses were as good as Moorfield House TripAdvisor would only require two catorgories excellant or very vey good perhaps a little difficult to find our sat nav gave up and we had to get directions from a local but perhaps all the better as the house is set in its own grounds up a short lane The house is both attractive on the outside and inside, with the public rooms tastfully funished in a modern style the bedrooms are comfortable well decorated and furnished ,the bathroom spotless Breakfast in the dining room was well seved by the owner in a light and welcoming room over looking the garden The food was excellant A large decked area has a grand stand view of a once a year famous local event !!! Book well in advance one would have to be ultra critical to find any fault with the Moorfield guest house
