Douglas, Catherine and family extend a warm welcome in the best traditions of Scottish hospitality to one of the oldest Coaching Inns in the Highlands. The Inn is delightfully situated on the upper reaches of Loch Fyne, and presents to the visitor a haven of sparkling views, high mountains and magnificent woodlands and rivers. The location of the Inn makes it the ideal centre for a touring holiday, especially for visiting such places as Loch Lomond, The Mull of Kintyre, The Cowal peninsula and the breath taking scenery of the West Highlands. For the Hill walker and Climber, Cairndow is within easy reach of some of the finest terrain in Scotland. It is also a popular spot for boating and sea angling, and deer stalking can be arranged in the Autumn.

The dog and I had a lovely time here. Our room was warm and comfortable with a great view over the Loch. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming and really understood about gluten free food. It was a bit of a shock to waken up to three inches of snow but the Scottish

Hello Bronwyn J, I am very sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay. We do provide free wi-fi to everyone and every room and have in fact just had Fibre Optic installed to make it faster, please get in contact with me to let me know what room you stayed in so that I can look into this. Again, please let me know what room you stayed in so that I can look into your other complaints, I am shocked to read that you found it to be dirty and with peeling wallpaper...as you can see from our other reviews this does not echo our other feedback and we score very highly for our cleanliness, staff and decor. Kind regards, Jamie

Hello & Thanks for your feedback. Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us! I am sorry to hear that you were incorrectly advised on first inquiry into where the dog is allowed. Out of 4 possible areas for eating you are allowed your dog in 3 of them (New Lounge, Stagecoach & Bar) the reason dogs are not allowed in all dining rooms is because we must provide 1 area that dogs are not allowed to accommodate for those who do not like having or have allergies to a dog in the same area as them when eating. I hope that this will not put you off from a future visit! I can confirm that your food is NOT pre-prepared and I can also confirm that the Head Chef was in fact working on Wednesday - it wouldn't matter when his day off was as we have 3 Chefs! Kind regards, Management

I agree with the other comments. You might want to consider taking a bus from Cairndow road end at the war memorial to the Loch Fyne Oyster bar and walking back to Achadunan. Times : To Loch Fyne 9.42 , 13.12 , 16.40. Return 10.25 ' 14.19 , 16.50.
