We arrived early to a warm welcome from our host Sue. Sue offered us a selection of rooms. followed by a cup of tea, cake and bikkies. Our room was very comfortable. The selection for breakfast was vast and tasted great. We had great views of Loch Fyne and Inverary.

My experience with Thistle House was unique as I wasn’t a guest, but rather an unlucky traveler whose car broke down outside this magical safe haven. I honestly don’t know what I would have done if it wasn’t for the generosity and kindness of the family running this B&B. Not only did they allow us to stay on their property while we waited for help, but they also gave us tea and biscuits, and ultimately drove us to a hotel down the rode when we had no other options for the night. Thank you so much to everyone we encountered that night! I hope to come back as a guest someday :)

Over 3 weeks we toured Scotland, staying in a different b&b each night. Thistle House Guest House was by far our favourite. The warmest welcome, the beautifully deacorated rooms, with so many extras and the amazing views. The breakfast, again the best we had in Scotland. This guest house is PERFECTION <3

This was our 3rd stay at Thistle Guest House & the standard of both accommodation & breakfast was as high as ever. We absolutely love staying there. Sue & Avril are excellent hosts, they go out of their way to make you welcome. This trip we stayed in the beautiful Stewart bedroom with view of garden at rear of house, we have also stayed in Campbell & Lamont previously. Each room is beautifully furnished & decorated. Guests also have use of the beautiful & relaxing downstairs lounge. Breakfast is excellently cooked with a wide range of choices offered. The gardens at the guest house are gorgeous with great views across Loch Fyne to Inveraray & the castle there. All in all Thistle Guest House is perfection. Thankyou Sue & Avril, we are looking forward to our next visit.

Upon arrival you just know you are going to have a good stay. A warm welcome with explanation of facilities and taken to our room. Although our room over looked the garden this was just as lovely as we could watch the chickens and the black and white scottie dogs walk in the garden. The breakfasts were always presented stylishly, were tasteful and always on a hot plate. Avril and Sue worked perfectly together to make sure all courses are served precisely at the right time. The view to Inverary Castle was delightful from the dining room. The use of the lounge facilities to relax in and read were perfect, with a fire lit for those chillier nights. Avril and Sue were always willing to share their knowledge of the area and provide advice if requested. Good value for the service and quality of food! Very comfy bed, lovely sea kelp toiletries. This is a must to stay!…

An absolute charming B&B retaining many of the original features and decorated sympathetically. The bathrooms are modern with good facilities. Breakfast was served in a dedicated dining room, and the food cooked fresh to order. We arrived in the area much earlier than expected and asked if we could drop off our bags. Not only were we immediately taken to our rooms, but were then served coffee and cake in the lounge.

The most amazing break, Sue and Avril were the best hosts, they couldn’t do enough for us. The breakfast choice was awesome and cooked to perfection, using all local ingredients which was a great treat. Location was perfect with the sea loch opposite the guest house. Lovely gardens where you can sit and take in the views of the mountains and the loch. The loch view bedroom was decorated in keeping with the location and the bed was the best nights sleep I have had in years. Absolutely spotless, clean and welcoming. Massive guest lounge with an open fire so guest can relax in the house. We could not recommend Thistle House enough, perfect lovely holiday. We will be heading back next year for sure. Thank you Sue and Avril for the most relaxing break.

The Thistle House Guest House was the highlight stay of our trip to Scotland. The location is stunning, overlooking a loch and hills beyond. The grounds are obviously well tended and we had a delightful afternoon sipping wine while admiring the views. The house is so lovely, immaculately clean, comfortable, and welcoming in every way. Our room was perfect, having 2 very comfortable beds and a modern and once again spotlessly clean bathroom. Breakfast was abundant and so so delicious… we were able to select anything we desired and it was graciously presented by the kind hosts. The hostesses are the true gem of this establishment, welcoming us like friends and treating with care and hospitality throughout our stay. We are so grateful we were lucky enough to have stayed in this exceptional home and recommend it without hesitation to discerning travelers.…

Warm and welcoming B&B! Charming rooms with fantastic views and a lovely fireplace in the sitting room. Breakfast was generous and delicious. Our hosts were so interesting to chat with, and I only wished we could’ve stayed longer. A true taste of Scottish elegance - not to be missed if you’re staying near Inverary Castle (right across the loch).
