This hotel looks rather shabby from the outside. We were convinced we must have booked somewhere else as the exterior photos on booking.com look lovely compared with the reality.....however, please don't judge the book by the cover, the welcome was lovely with fresh milk and water on offer (rather than the ubiquitous UHT cartons). The room was clean and comfortable with nice toiletries and I particularly appreciated the Tunnocks confectionery! The evening meal was tasty and the full breakfast was lovely and with nice touches such as cherry tomatoes on the vine. The mother and daughter owners are clearly trying very hard to create a nice experience for all guests and we couldn't fault their hospitality. It just needs a bit of an overhaul I guess when funds and time permit.

Really nice hotel. Very welcoming - we were checked in and looked after by Alex who was absolutely excellent. Room was spacious, clean and elegant. Nice bathroom. We ate evening meal and breakfast and the food was the best of our holiday - really good quality and a great selection of Scottish dishes along slide others. Enjoyed eating in the conservatory and a drink in the cosy bar. Great place!

Had 3 nights here in the middle of our camping holiday. Hotel looks slightly shabby from outside and the reception/hallway areas are quite tired. However, friendly and welcoming, fabulous comfy bed, clean room and excellent food. The Scottish tapas menu had more than enough of a choice to eat here two of our 3 nights, the quality was great, especially the Kintyre smoked salmon. And the breakfasts were very good too, good choice and large portions so no lunch required. All in all, would recommend a stay here.

Stayed for 1 night whilst passing through on my bike. Hotel happy to look after a bag I left beforehand and helpful and friendly when I arrived. Room spacious and had everything I needed. Great food in the restaurant.

We visited for three nights with our Dog . Our room was perfect it was spotless . All of the staff were lovely a very friendly team. A special mention to Alex in the bar who looked after us from the minute we arrived nothing was ever too much trouble. Breakfasts were beautiful scrambled egg with smoked salmon the best I’ve ever tasted. It was the first time we had taken our dog to a hotel we felt really relaxed about it that was down to Rhona and Cara . We will definitely be back .
