My husband & I stayed for a long weekend with the dog. Despite the Covid restrictions we still found the hosts warm and welcoming with lots of helpful tips to make the most of our visit. The whole hotel was spotless and they were taking the necessary precautions very seriously but still had time to make us feel at home.
Really enjoyed my short stay in Carradale and The Ashbank could not have been friendlier hosts. Great breakfast and a very comfortable night's sleep. Would definitely recommend a wee wander around the village early in the morning. The views are stunning.
I stayed for one night. It is a lovely location, quite remote and I was glad to get to the hotel after a long drive down a single track road. The owner was welcoming and showed me to my room. The room itself was okay - it was clean and the bed was comfy. The decor was a bit dated and rough round the edges, but this seems to be pretty standard for hotels and bnb's in the area, and it is an old building I suppose. TV in my room wasn't working, I reported this and was told the aerial was broken. There was a working tv in the lounge downstairs, but I decided to watch a dvd in my room instead. The most disappointing bit was the hotel were not able to provide any breakfast, as the owner had to leave very early the next day. To be fair they did explain this when I arrived, but at that point it was too late to go anywhere else. This should be explained at the time of booking. In place of breakfast they left me a packup of cheese sandwiches and crisps, which was a nice intention but not really what you want to eat at 7:30am! Overall it was ok just for a quick stopover, but shame about the breakfast.…
