Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It’s just perfect, heaven on earth. We did the West-Highland-Way and this overnight-stay was the best of all. Including the breakfast after having slept in confortable beds in a beautiful perfectly clean room with all you even don’t dream about…

What I expected from a Traditional B&B. Rooms were very clean and well appointed. Our bed was comfortable and cozy. Nice to have the foot spa and the robes. Breakfast was copious and delicious. Highly recommended.

Picked up at Kingshouse and dropped off the next day by wonderful driver and son of Edoncoile. We were walking the West Highland Way. Super clean room and everything worked in the room! Most bed and breakfasts are never this clean or in perfect working condition! Thank you Sandy for your hospitality. Highly recommend!!

We had a twin room which was spotless with a lovely en-suite and lots of nice extra touches like mints, bath robes, foot spa etc. Breakfast was amazing with one of the best spreads I’ve seen. Such a shame that the beds were shaped like bananas, the worst most worn and dipped mattresses we’ve slept on. Hosts were friendly enough but not really forthcoming with info or interested in anything further than telling you to remove your boots at the door and where your room is.

The room was comfortable with everything needed. It took me a while to find the sink as it was in the wardrobe. The shower has great water pressure which was much appreciated after a day of hiking. The hosts were friendly and the breakfast was great.

This is a hard one to review; I hate to leave negative comments but also want others to be aware of what they’re in for. On one hand, the home itself was very well kept and clean. Some have commented on its kitschy decor, but I like when an inn or B&B owner displays their own taste and personality in how they decorate, whether or not it’s something of my personal taste. Breakfast was good and hearty. Beds were a little worn (old springs/bouncy). However. This is probably the most unwelcoming inn, B&B, or hotel that we’ve ever stayed in. We never did see the female host, so dealt exclusively with the father and son. Their entire demeanor was unwelcoming from start to finish. Never a word said that wasn’t absolutely necessary; don’t expect any helpful information about the area or finding dining options or hiring a taxi. The entire time we felt like unwelcome guests in someone’s home. They’re obviously quite keen to take your money, but beyond that (and serving breakfast) you are on your own. We had to find our own room, and were told “everything is in the folder.” That’s that. The drying room did not seem to be heated, so there’s a good chance your items will still be wet in the morning if you got drenched on the way in. Perhaps they’re nicer to folks with a Scottish accent? No idea, but I’m having trouble wrapping my head around any review that says the hosts were warm and welcoming; they were anything but for us and the other travelers staying at the same time (we got to know two other parties quite well, one from Norway and one from the U.S.). But I would highly recommend finding other accommodations where you are not made to feel like you’re imposing on your hosts for simply being present.

We stayed here on the 6th night of our West Highland Way walking holiday. It was quite a walk up to the B&B but the view was worth it! It truly is a beautiful house and there was a young deer ambling around the garden which was lovely to see. The hosts really have thought of everything and go above and beyond for their guests. As someone who had walked 14 miles, it was incredible to be able to soak my feet in the foot spa in the room - completely unexpected but wonderful addition to the amenities. The room itself was really quite small for our needs and felt a bit claustrophobic, both due to the washbasin being in a cupboard, the shower being very small and the huge bed! Don't get me wrong, the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in but it took up most of the room! I was not impressed with the decor in the room at all - I found it to be very "busy" and flowery but it was very well co-ordinated and I was able to overlook this due to the other little touches provided such as the chocolates, biscuits, foot spa and bathrobes (yes! absolutely gorgeous fluffy bathrobes!!!! - in a B&B!!!!) We got a takeaway from the local Chinese and ate it in the garden with fantastic views - it was a lovely relaxing evening. Breakfast was a luxurious affair. Served in a very grand and decadent dining room with a plethora of choice, including lots of fresh fruit on your table, home made jam and marmalade, all the condiments you could ever need, tea, coffee, scones, toast, bread - you name it, it was there! I had smoked salmon & scrambled eggs and it was absolutely delicious. My partner had a full cooked breakfast and he said it was extremely nice. I met only one of the hosts and found him to be very helpful and friendly. I am not sure if I would go out of my way to book this place again if I was staying for longer as the decor was just a bit too much for me but if I was in the area for a night I would certainly consider it. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to others, however as it is great value for money and a lovely little gem in a stunning location with lots of extras you don't normally get in a B&B.

We stayed for one night 07 Apr 2022 during our walk on the West Highland Way. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodation is clean and lovely decorated throughout. They have thought of everything you could possibly need from drying room for wet hiking clothes, resident lounge with log burner and rooms are so well stocked with fluffy robes, hot water bottles, tea, coffee, cocoa, biscuits, chocolates, foot spa and lots of other extra special touches. Breakfast was fantastic - an absolute banquet of fresh good quality food to set you up for the day. Would definitely recommend staying here and hope to come back again in the future. Dawson party of 2.

We stayed for one night (wish it had been for longer) whilst walking the WHW. We were made very welcome and were delighted to stay in a beautiful comfy room with a superking bed, fantastic bathroom, all the facilities you could possibly wish for after a long day waking 25 miles. All the little touches such as chocs by the bed, hot water bottle, foot spa are all very much appreciated. Thank you, amazing Bed & Breakfast X

Just stayed 2 nights and we were treated very well, don’t know who the people moaning about grumpy owners are seeing because neither Sandy nor Drew were grumpy. Sandy picked us up from Kingshouse within 30 minutes of us calling, chatted away all the way back to the guest house where he showed us to our room explaining what we needed to do for breakfast and a packed lunch for our next days walk. We ordered both no problems. The room was very clean, chocolates in the room along with everything else you could think of. The room was hot at night but unfortunately due to the midges we couldn’t open the window but this had obviously been thought of because there was a fan in the room! The breakfast the next day was huge, we had ordered kippers and scrambled egg and a traditional Scottish breakfast. I had expected one kipper but got two, there were cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts toast breads preserves the cooked breakfast was eggs bacon, black pudding, sausages, hash browns copious amounts of tea and coffee, the packed lunch was two rounds of sandwiches, 2 chocolate bars a packet of crisps and a piece of fruit plus a drink, one lunch would have done both of us but the sandwiches were so fresh and the filling so generous we scoffed the lot! This was our second time of walking the WHW if we do it again we will definitely stay with Sandy and Drew, lovely men who try to do whatever they can for you
