I've just returned from a three-day stay with my husband in the Strontium Hotel, a cosy country house. We were booked into the delightful and re-furbished Suite which had a fabulous view out over Loch Sunart. We were welcomed by Michelle, the owner, although we had arrived early, and personally shown round our suite and public rooms, and made to...

Nice location, friendly and warm, good food. Could possibly do with a lick of paint but suited our purpose fine. The area is great and the views stunning. Not a bad place to stay on the way to the Mallaig ferry.

Hi there Thank you for your review - we have had a lot of visitors looking for the Black Duck and most have been successful. Thank you also for your comment about the lick of paint. It is on the list once the weather warms up a bit. The outside of the Hotel particularly facing the Loch, you can imagine...

I used this hotel as I was twitching the famous Strontain Black Duck. This is a perfect location for twitching the duck. The hotel offers a warm welcome and nice rooms. The pub downstairs was perfect for a good pint & dinner. Breakfast was very good. Would stay there again. My only downside would be I personally thought it was...

I stayed here when working in the area during the off season but there was nothing off about this fine establishment. The hotel was essentially closed but stays open for people who are working in the area. I was warmly and professionally welcomed and shown to my room which was pretty good. Decent bathroom, spacious room with both a TV...

Why oh why does Scotland and the hotels here price the ordinary people out of staying in our own country. My family came from here in the 19th century they worked in the mines there. I went to visit after I found out my roots, looking for a place to stay at a later date to finish my family tree I...

I had one night here organised for a group of friends, We had comfortable separate lounge and dining areas from the day visitors. our rooms were all so clean! My food was excellent despite my requesting changes with the interesting menu - these were served up with a smile for the chef. Well worth the travelling to stay or eat...

I missed the last ferry to Mull when my flight was delayed. The Ardnamurchan peninsular is stunning, but not packed with B & B. I had a chest infection so didnt fancy sleeping in the car. There was no room at the Strontian Inn but the manager spent 30 mins phoning around until she found me a bed for the...

An incredible view over the loch. Spent lots of time in the evening watching the sunset. Our room overlooked the bar and we were somewhat concerned about potential noise from there at night. However either the patrons were extremely quiet or the double glazing was very good. Additionally the breakfast was superb!!

We found Strontian as an alternative to the crowds of Skye, and it was a great decision. The 100-year-old hotel was extremely nice, with a cozy and welcoming lounge for the rainy afternoon, with a twinkling hearth, excellent library, and good internet. Our room looked right out over the water, so lovely at full moon and early morning. The bed was...
