Went to the Bay Glenburn Hotel on November 30th, with Shearings. We arrived in the dark so didn't see how impressive from the outside it looked till the next day. When we got inside I was shocked, very shocked. The dining room wanted modernising ,...More

Just returned from a five day break with Shearings. The hotel was very pleasant. The room was a good size and the hotel very warm. I must commend the chef his food was off good standard. Also the entertainment was good.

The local bus driver referred to it as "Colditz", but it certainly wasn't. A large Victorian hotel in an elevated position, giving sweeping views across the bay to the mainland. Stayed 9-13 November, as 'Bay Inclusive' with Shearings. Although parts of the hotel look a...More

Hi, we are a party of three. We would have liked to have booked three single rooms, however there are no single rooms available at end of March. The first week in April there was only one single room available. Therefore you either have to book a double and a single or look for an alternative Shearings break. We have checked with Shearings and they advise us to speak to the hotel. Last year we had the same issues. The hotel informed us we need to speak to Shearings as they have got all the single rooms. Why can the hotel not release twin rooms if guests are prepared to pay the single room supplement. i spoke to a lady travelling with Shearings who wanted to book a single room in March and there is no availability. So she has booked Oban instead. It seems a shame that the bus is half empty and there are empty rooms in the hotel and potential guest are being told no availability. . Last year we even paid for an extra person (that didn't exist) as there were no single rooms.. We love this hotel but single rooms on a Shearings holiday are practically like gold dust.

Have you tried going through the Bay Hotels website? I have never travelled with Shearings and always go independently.
