We highly recommend Fascadail - Karen and the owners take the extra effort to make everyone's stay wonderful and memorable. We found the house beautiful and quiet. The view from Fascadail across Loch Long to the Arochar Alps is incredible. The breakfasts were every bit as good as everyone reviews them to be: many fresh delicious choices. We also had a good meals at Cu Mara and at the Village Inn, both short walks away. We recommend reading Fascadail website suggestions for interesting day trips as we enjoyed several of those in addition to hiking The Cobbler - you'll find the owner Brenda very helpful if you would like suggestions. We stayed 5 days this Sept, and loved it.

Property's Favourite Review
WOW!!!! Have been coming to Fascadail Country Guest House for 10 years now. The place is amazing. Stayed for a week in August 2023 with my husband and mother. We had the 2 roomed suite (room 3) which is the most comfortablist room we have stayed in. Brenda and Karen are just the best hosts and the breakfast is amazing. The pancakes are the best I have tasted and will fill you up all day. We will definitely continue to stay at Fascadail and cannot recommend this Guest House enough. Nothing is too much for Brenda and Karen and they will go out of their way to make sure you have a memorable stay. Just love this place and will keep coming back for as long as we are able to. Thank you Brenda and Karen. Mick, Michelle and Margaret.

WOW! What a review! Karen and I better stay on top of things to live up to your very kind review. We won’t be slackers ever…we promise! And we’ll keep the pancakes coming too. Of course it always makes our job easy when we have amazing guests like you three. So, thanks for being kind and for being part of our Fascadail family!

Not to be missed when visiting Arrochar this delicious afternoon tea at the most picture perfect location here at Fascadail country guest house . A great selection of sandwiches, incredible locally baked scones and scrumptious desserts that far exceeded our expectations . All accompanied by friendly chat , unlimited tea of your choice and a lovely bottle of prosecco too. There was a warm welcome and a lovely relaxed atmosphere from the moment we arrived . We stayed easily 3 hours and never felt rushed . I can definitely recommend booking the afternoon tea at Fascadail guest house , especially to anyone visiting Arrochar or the surrounding areas , who are looking for something nice to enhance their visit .

A total of eleven family members stayed at Fascadail Country Guest House for a week in July 2023. We occupied all five bedrooms. Everything about our stay was perfect. Our host provided breakfast every morning including hot items like pancakes, bacon, eggs, pure Vermont Maple syrup, etc. as well as fruit, cheese, yogurt, cereal choices, fresh bread, milk, juice and coffee. The house has a stunning view of the Scottish Alps across Loch Long, on which it sits. It is beautifully outfitted with an ensuite bath for every room. The breakfast room and living room both have a bay window overlooking the loch. Out front is a lovely and large seating area. Brenda is the gracious, friendly and most accommodating host. She was simply delightful. The location is ideal for day trips to such locations as Glasgow, Edinburgh, and St. Andrews. The ScotRail line to the Highlands stops at the Arrochar/Talbert station a few blocks away. Nearby castles such as Stirling and Inverary are short drives. Snowball is the canine host and she is as sweet and docile as she can be. We felt like we were at a close friend's home all week. You won't be dissapointed.

We booked the full house for a 50th anniversary celebration. The rooms perfectly suited our needs, the views of the Loch and surrounding hills unparalleled. On the last day we truly enjoyed having wee Snowball around the house. Easy day trips, food can get repetitive in town but try Ali’s delivery for some variety! Lovely landscaping, lovely owner, perfect.

Beautifully located B&B with stunning views on Loch Long in very nice holiday location near Lomond and Trossachs, ideal for walking and cycling. Owner is a cheerful American lady, who married a British navy man and started a new life her. Note there is only pub food obtainable in the few restaurants around, of which we appreciated The Village Inn the best. Beds have relatively hard mattresses, but sleep well.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at Fascadail. It is in a great location with beautiful views over Loch Long and surrounding mountains. Our room (no 3) was great. Brenda is a great host, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing, with a fantastic choice of food - careful with the pancakes you will not be hungry for the rest of the day.

Lovely location and room good however the worst dog friendly place we have stayed at. Our 2 dogs had been attacked by another dog at a pub in Arrochar so the next morning we asked if the cook's dog (never on a lead) could be kept out of the dining area. It wasn't and when we complained to the owner she said it's not my dog. The cook said our dogs were the problem and we should have kept them in our room. As dog lovers, we wouldn't do that. Not the sort of hospitality we expect.

Response from Brenda Steele MacCrimmon, Owner at Fascadail Country Guest House
Responded 14 May 2023
We’re highly dog friendly and all of our other guests who’ve stayed at Fascadail know that. I’m “the cook” and the owner of the house and the BNB dog named Snowball. Literally more than 20 dogs already have made Snowball’s acquaintance in just two months since she finally arrived from Florida to reunite with me and her dog-Dad Stuart. No one has ever had any issue with her as she’s a submissive sweet little rescue dog. Your dogs were lovely too, however, the one dog tried to attack and bite Snowball twice. That’s why I suggested that you simply leave just her in the room during breakfast so that she’d not feel so stress, plus both Karen and I made many efforts to keep Snowball back in the kitchen. She had only wandered out when I walked outside to pay our mason Freddie for work he’d completed. You responded by standing up, pointing your finger, raising your voice, and yelling in front of other guests and then yelling at our lovely amazing staff member Karen. At that point, of you blaming her, I suggested that just the one little girl dog might be best in the room during your breakfast. You then said, “wait until you see the review I’m going to write about you.” Well I see it, and I’m not at all apologetic for my suggestion since I know it would have avoided added stress on both of our precious dogs. They’re like our kids….we love them dearly.

This place is wonderful, we felt right at home, had incredible views. Great location for whatever you like to do, hiking, day trips or just time to relax and take in Scotland. Rooms were very comfortable and private. Breakfast was amazing, continental and/or made to order pancakes/eggs were delicious. The owners, Brenda and Stuart are great people. We were there for 4 nights and everyone we encountered felt the same. We were very fortunate to have discovered this location and would happily visit again and highly recommend.

We had a lovely family getaway here just after Christmas. We had exclusive use of the property and it was amazing! The rooms are really big. The kitchen very well equipped. It was lovely to relax by the fire. The weather was vile but I'd love to come back in the summer and make use of the lovely gardens as well.
