Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A wonderful place in a beautiful setting, lots of space and felt more like a home from home rather than a BnB. Really cosy and relaxing, although we were only passing through as we were heading to the Tayside area for a week we wish we could have stayed longer.

Margaret and Kenny couldn't be more welcoming, giving advice about local attractions and the general area, we also had a good long natter about skiing locations in Europe and and top tips on gardening :-) Breakfasts were pretty spectacular, especially with Margaret's home made goods.

Would definitely recommend and I'm sure we'll be visiting again next time we're up in the area.

Cheers

We stopped here for 2 nights after an Edinburgh weekend on our impromptu road trip. We only booked the night before and Margaret couldn't have been more accommodating. The cottage was so cosy , comfortable and quiet. Our vegetarian breakfasts were delicious especially the eggs. The setting is picture postcard even in mid winter and the optional company of two laidback border collies was an unexpected bonus for us. Margaret was a mine of local information which we found useful and an interesting person to talk to.

Satnav took us right to the cottage. We were welcomed with a nice cup of tea and home made cake. Rooms were clean and tidy beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding with lots of variety,we were spoilt for choice. Views from all round the farm were spectacular. Margaret and Kenny are excellent hosts and make you welcome from start to finish. They have plenty of ideas of places to visit and where to eat. We as a family will definitely be going back on our next trip up to Scotland.

We only stayed for one night (though we wish we had been staying longer!) Margaret and her family were very welcoming and helpful. The rooms were well appointed and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was fabulous with beautiful views of the countryside and all in all we would highly recommend staying at Braeburn Cottage.

Gorgeous, comfortable farm setting with incredible views. Margaret was a warm welcoming host who provided a great homemade Scottish breakfast, and the whole place had such wonderful charm for our first night in Scotland. Loved this place!

I had a wonderful 1 night stay at this B&B as my first night in Scotland in July 2019. Margaret and her family were perfect hosts making me feel very welcome, with the additional ambassadors of the two border collies Meg and Molly. The breakfast was fantastic, with the largest range of choices I experienced in Scotland and Margeret ensured that I got my first taste of haggis!

Between the comfortable room, wonderful hosts and delicious breakfast, if I'm ever in the Balloch area again I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Just had a wonderful 3 night stay with Margaret, Kenny and family (and Molly and Meg too!). A warm welcome greeted us on Friday - and this was extended right through our stay. We had a delightful room - with lovely views over the rear garden.
A sumptous home cooked breakfast greeted us each morning - and set us up for the day. Looking out on the front garden over breakfast was a real pleasure - even in the mist!! The gardens are absolutely stunning.
The B&B is situated about 1.5 miles from the centre of Balloch - where we found several lovely restaurants. Margaret recommended them to us - and gave us a little map to point them out to us.
Margaret and Kenny gave us lots of tips on where to visit.
Thank you for a wonderful weekend. Karen and Mark

We arrived here to a very friendly welcome. Very quiet and tranquil. Breakfast was brilliant, in fact we didn't eat again until evening. If we were in this area again we would definitely stay here. Oh and their collie dogs were also very friendly.

A very comfortable room and helpful hosts.
The breakfast was delicious with a traditional take.
We were made to feel very welcome and spent time chatting with the family and petting the dogs after breakfast. Margaret was extremely helpful in her suggestions for places to visit and took a lot of trouble.
The location is peaceful with a beautiful garden but easy to get to and a good base for exploring the area.
We would definately stay again.

We stayed two nights at this comfortable B&B. It's easy to get to and is signposted from the main road. Our room was very comfortable and warm. The breakfasts are tasty and substantial. Margaret & Kenny & family made us very welcome during our stay. The view from the breakfast table is lovely. It's a good place from which to explore the sea lochs, Loch Lomond area, Trossachs or Glasgow. The best option for Glasgow is to take the train from either Alexandria or Balloch. Try "The Stables Restaurant" in Balloch too. I recommend Braeburn Cottage to you.
