Room. This was huge, with various pieces of old furniture. It appeared that the renovation of the room was in process, and that the room was let before it was really ready. Two huge posters for films from the 50s stood in the corner, very much out of context with 'Hunting Lodge' theme of the hotel. The bed had what looked like scaffolding poles on it, one hoped they would be draped in fabric at some stage with the poles then out of sight. The water out of the sink taps in the bathroom was brown. We ran it for several minutes but both hot and cold continued to be brown. We were on our way home so decided not to shower as the shower would have made us dirtier than we already were. Breakfast had to be ordered the night before - nothing wrong with that as we understood the need to plan. However, the toast was missing from the order when it came, so we asked the nice young lady for some with something to put on the toast. 'Marmalade or jam' she asked. I replied 'Yes please' to which she stopped in her tracks, turned and repeated 'marmalade or jam?'. For the price they are asking at the place it should not be a choice. And both should be there on the table. At the previous place we stayed, a lowly B+B on Skye, the owner made his own selection of jams and marmalades (and his own bread every morning) which were available on the table at breakfast, so having to chose between marmalade and jam when paying nearly treble the amount was rather disappointing. The place still has potential and I would like to return in a year or two to see what they are making of it.

We booked the Suie Hunting Lodge for our anniversary and it was a fantastic experience. Excellent room and great food The Hosts were friendly, accommodating and had a great knowledge of the area recommending walks, places to visit and where to eat. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I spotted the Suie Hunting Lodge by chance whilst looking for somewhere to stay for our wedding anniversary. The hotel is in an idyllic setting. Although set next to the main road, it had a sense of calmness and tranquillity. Our hosts were very welcoming and non intrusive. The room was everything we expected. We had booked the King Room with luxury bath. it was quirky and cosy. Breakfast was very tasty and the staff really couldn't do enough to make sure we had all we needed in the morning. The communal sitting room was also quirky with the eclectic furniture and taxidermy beasts! The owners gave us hints and tips as to where to visit. If you are looking for a total switch off (as in not much internet access) this is your place. Only one little thing to improve on- there didn't seem to be a light on the staircase leading to the bedrooms. Although there was still some faint daylight in the evening, it was difficult to see. All in all, if you want a unique hotel experience this is the place. Would love to visit again.

The whole experience was fantastic. The lodge, staff very pleasant and food was different but very good. I would recommend this for a break. The lodge is still in the updating phase. But what they have done is well done.

What a great find! Decor is stunning in the reception rooms and bedroom/bathroom we had. Menu was limited but food was delicious and lovingly presented. Great drinks selection, and wine was fab. If you want a quiet, no wifi night away from it all I would definitely recommend. And my insomniac husband slept like a baby!

This is a great cafe with delicious scones and a friendly service. The building has been beautifully renovated and is situated in a stunning landscape - perfect for a stop-off treat on a highland drive.

Lovely stay at the Hunting Lodge. Very comfortable and we enjoyed great meals! They made sure supper was available to us even when arrival time was on the late side of their supper timings. The rooms and bathrooms have been beautifully renovated.

Lovely lodge in a lovely environment. Pauline and Robby (and the rest of the staff) are very friendly! The bar/restaurant is very nice with good pictures on the walls. The “drawing room” is absolutely stunning, with beautiful details. Room we had (9) was great, good bed and very nicely decorated. Only minus is the shower, which is very small, and the water pressure and temperature are not consistent. But overall, a lovely accomodation.

Strikingly elegant house - really distinctive. Nice room, beautiful setting - and just over halfway through our journey to the Hebrides! Thoughtfully assembled menu of small plates, and an excellent breakfast. Would heartily recommend.

A real gem, the hunting lodge has been refurbished and updated, we spent the evening sitting in the lounge reading. It was just perfect, so calm, quiet and relaxing. The breakfast the next morning was delicious and all homemade. And the hosts were very welcoming and friendly, would definitely stay here again!
