Portnellan. Where memories are made. Recent finalist for the Visitscotland's Thistle Award in the category "Best Self Catering in Scotland" for our region. Portnellan has a 'Certificate of Excellence' from Tripadvisor for the seventh year running with over 235 reviews from guests. A tasteful collection of 4 and 5 star self catering holiday chalets and cottages owned and run by the Taylor family for nearly 40 years. Located just outside the picturesque village of Crianlarich within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. A great central location for touring and visiting many of Scotland's attractions and adventure. All chalets and cottages are positioned thoughtfully on a small private estate with sensational views of loch, glen and mountains. There are many activities onsite to enjoy including free use of rowing boats, kayaks,Weber gas BBQ and estate loch and river fishing. In addition there is WiFi. There is a games room with table tennis, pool table, table football and a small gym available to use. Clay pigeon shooting and paddle board hire can also be arranged. All properties are tastefully appointed to 4 and 5 star standard varying in size from 1 to 8 bedroom with stunning views across the loch, mountain and glen. Other features include Egyptian Cotton bed linen and king size beds with hotel grade pocket sprung mattresses. Some chalets even have a private sauna and spa bath. There are even fresh eggs available from our hand reared ducks (when laying). This beautiful accommodation is available for short breaks, weeks or longer all year round. A family business with nearly 40 years proud of their Highland hospitality.

First visit to Portnellan and won’t be the last…what a beautiful place. We stayed in the Pinemartin lodge which had everything you could need and commanded incredible views of the surrounding hills and the loch. This is a little corner of paradise and the choice of activities are endless as is doing nothing but enjoying the surroundings and scenery. The hosts Cameron and Lucy could not have been any more helpful and hospitable. Thank you 🙏

I “found” Portnellan about 2 years ago but for various reasons didn’t book until this half term so we had been looking forward to our visit and it didn’t disappoint. We booked Pinemarten and apart from a blip in finding it on arrival (we arrived in the dark and Cameron directed us) it was lovely. Pinemarten was warm and welcoming and as described on the website. The beds were extremely comfortable and very stylish and calming decor. A fully equipped kitchen and handy boot room/utility made the best use of space. Waking up in the morning to simply stunning views was the icing on the cake. We were very impressed with the EV infrastructure in Scotland in general but there were 2 options within easy distance of Portnellan in Crianlarich and in Killin. There was the option to charge at Pinemarten from an external socket so we needed to use our cars adapter cable which was fine but we only needed to use that on the night of arrival as the other options were close by convenient and of course quicker. The estate setting is wonderful and it would be good to return in the summer to see how different it looks. The weather was very kind to us with only one day of 5 being a rain washout so we snuggled up in the warm and had a pj day. Great place and thoroughly recommend.…

We had an unexpected stay at Portnellan due to appalling weather conditions that left us stranded. Cameron and Lucy could not have been more helpful and we had a fabulous stolen few days in the Whooper lodge. One of the most beautiful places we’ve stayed - a real hidden gem.

We had an excellent stay at Portnellan in the Fisher Lodge. The site is beautiful and we enjoyed walking around it every day. There is lots of walks straight from the lodge if you want to go further or tackle the mountain in the field next door ! There is also a loch over the road which you can use. There is a lovely on site small shop which has excellent dvds to borrow. The lodge was spotless and had everything that we needed. We could have stayed another week as there is lots to do in the area. The wildlife onsite is great , red squirrels, birds ….. and our nighttime visitor …. a pine marten was amazing !! We will definitely be back. Thank you Sharon & Dave

From the moment I first contacted Cameron I knew I'd picked the perfect place to celebrate my partner's 50th Birthday. I'd arranged for 6 friends to meet us there as a surprise, and Cameron kindly arranged an early check in so that they could decorate the lodge ready for our arrival. Everything went perfectly, and An Caisteal is the perfect size for a group of 8. Every room was beautiful and the views are absolutely stunning! The games room proved a hit and every need was catered for. Cameron was always at the end of the phone to deal with any queries and nothing was too much trouble for him. Thank you again for providing the perfect spot to create some wonderful memories. I'm sure we'll be back!

We found this little treasure on the off chance during our search for a holiday chalet in Scotland. We wanted a place away from the hustle and bustle of city life with idyllic views. Wow! did we luck out. Beautiful gem of a place, nestled between Ben More and Loch Lubhair. We stayed in the Pinemarten Chalet which was ideally located with amazing views of the Ben and the Loch. Stunning views and well appointed chalet. It is very well thought of. Has good premium white goods with a decent array of cutlery and crockery. The bedding is cosy and comfortable with nice touches ie bathrobes and slippers. Gives you the immediate feeling that the hosts Cameron and Lucy are passionate of the service they provide. The games room is a very welcome break to wind down. Didn't get around to using the complimentary boating onsite but is an added bonus. Cameron is very knowledgable and gave us great ideas of places to visit and eat. Easily accessible on WhatsApp during our stay. One of the biggest bonus we had was a couple of plug sockets on the exterior of the chalet which helped us top up our electric car overnight. Charging stations are not readily available in Scotland especially in remote locations and this was like a God send. Will definitely consider re-visiting this place in the near future. Didn't find any negatives in this place. …

On arrival we found that the Wi-Fi would not connect to the internet but Cameron quickly provided another router that solved that problem. Previously, in this cabin (Otter), I thought we had a small freezer but this seemed to have "disappeared" with the new efficient under the counter fridge. But again Cameron produced a small counter top freezer that solved our problem. our only problem was that there was no space to put our food shopping. All the cupboards were filled with something - so we amalgamated the contents of a couple of undercounter cupboards containing glasses and dishes to free up the space we needed. It was great to see the red squirrels at the "feeders" - such a contrast to the grey furry vermin things in England.
