I've stayed here twice now and never want leave. It is the most beautiful location right on the loch, with stunning views from the cottage. The whole cottage has views out over the water. There is plenty to do around with lots of lovely places to eat just a short drive away. We took our paddle board this time and it was amazing just being able to get up and walk straight down to the loch and go for a paddle. Bonus is there is a watersports place just 150m down the road offering all-sorts of fun activities. Also a putting green for the guests to use that sits right by the water. The hosts are both just incredible. Such warm and welcoming people who truly make this such a special place to come and stay. We can't wait to come stay again.
Little Briar cottage was the perfect location for us to explore the beautiful surroundings of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park and further afield. No end of mountain walking, as well as lower level and forest tracks. Cosy and well equipped cottage with beautiful views across Loch Earn, made all the more welcoming by Fraser and Kim, the perfect hosts! (Photo: View down Loch Earn from above St. Fillans)
I don’t normally do this and write reviews, but on this occasion, I felt it was what I should do, and tell you of a place like no other... We have never been to the same place, in the whole wide world, more than once... Part from visiting my family in Eastbourne, I cant forget them... But this place, this haven, this beautiful part of the world, that Kim and Fraser have so kindly created, and shared with us... We have now had our 11th, wonderful and amazing holiday here... and this time we brought our family to show them why we have tried to come back here every year ! We would normally just stay in the Steading, the bigger of the 2x cottages, but this time we had both of them, Little Briar and the Steading, plenty of room for 5x adults. Both have been created to a very high standard, and are so nice and very cosy, like being home from home, everything that you could need, if needed, and the views from either cottage are absolutely spectacular ! I celebrated my 40th birthday here, a few years ago now, but my partner has just celebrated his 50th birthday here... Kim and Fraser, are the fonts of all knowledge of the surrounding areas, and happy to suggest somewhere new to try or visit... They welcome us each time, with open arms, and make us feel like we are part of their lovely gorgeous extended family... Their neighbours are pretty great too ! I would like to say a huge thank you to Kim and Fraser, and hope that we can continue to visit Briar Cottages, for many more years to come...…
As beautiful as the pictures, if not more so. We stayed in Little Briar, which was incredibly comfortable for the two of us. Ideal for relaxing and taking in the scenery but also ideal as a base for getting out and exploring Scotland thanks to it being based in right in the middle of the country. Kim & Fraser are the best hosts you could hope for, so friendly, always on hand to make you feel at home and offer their expert advice on trips out and the best food spots. The facilities in Little Briar are everything you’ll need. Immaculate throughout with comfortable beds and a modern kitchen and bathroom, fast and reliable WiFi and radiators that warm the place up in no time, along with a covered outdoor area it sit and take in the view. We (sadly) didn’t have a pet with us ourselves, but there is no compromise on cleanliness, you’d never know a paw had stepped through the door. It was our first stay at Briar on family recommendation but it certainly won’t be our last!…
From the moment we arrived and saw the beautiful loch stretched out in front of us through both bedroom and livingroom room windows we felt relaxed. The luxury accommodation had absolutely everything we could think of or could possibly need and want. We spent time pondering the local villages of Killin, Comrie (beautiful bakery, butcher and green grocer) and Calender (check out all the little shops for loads of bargains). We played pool and had some food (delcious desserts) metres away from the cottage at the local hotels (150 steps!) and enjoyed fishing, watersports (despite the water being chilly!) It was the perfect location for our huge Easter egg hunt. The host could not have been more accommodating and helpful throughout the week and are so cheerful and fun they feel like family! A lovely time had by all spending a week relaxing and rejeuvating in the lovely surroundings. Thank you Briar Cottages.…
We were 3 adults plus baby and a dog, and we had a very happy stay at Little Briar. The accommodation is well thought out, comfortable and practical. Plenty of room for living inside, and also outside with the new covered area; a lovely space to sit, dine or simply enjoy the views. We had friends to visit and made good use of this space. Our dog was safe within the enclosed space but with plenty of room at hand to run and chase some of the toys provided. We enjoyed using the jetty to access the Loch for a swim or paddleboard . Kim and Fraser are perfect hosts, both friendly and responsive. We always look forward to our visits.
We had a week booked in Briar Steadings which sadly we had to cut short due to illness. Kim and Frazer have created the most magnificent place set beautifully in fabulous slopping grounds with a Loch side garden just across the road. The views are sensational. If you are looking for comfort, welcoming hosts and a fantastic setting then you have found it. The previous reviews say everything. Get it booked. Thanks to Kim and Frazer for being so caring.
Ok so we were blessed with fabulous weather but I would have still given this place top marks if the weather hadn't been as kind! We stayed in Little Briar and our dog had the most amazing time in the newly built secure run, she cried in the morning to be let out to sit and watch the rabbits. It really is a walker's paradise with fantastic access to lots of walks to see the wildlife (stag, numerous does, red squirrels). To us, that access was priceless, we haven't walked as much. And the view, oh the view, so many photos of the loch - and each one different. The cottage is really lovely, it was just right for us, everything we needed was there, and it was really comfortable for relaxing after those long walks. It felt like a little home from home - not just a holiday place. Covid restricted us a little as we didn't eat out, but it didn't detract from having the most wonderful holiday. We were able to visit Callander, Cowrie, Killin and St Fillans for sightseeing and walks as well as undertaking some of the local outdoor challenges - Ben Vorlich and the more gentle Glen Ogle Way. Kim and Fraser are such welcoming, helpful hosts, friendly and chatty but definitely not pushy. I cannot recommend this place enough, it really is magical.…
Yet again Kim and Frazer have done it again 2017 i went here for a chill break and they somehow managed to improve on that, Excellent stay such a beautiful peaceful place. In the perfect spot for exploring Perthshire and Loch Lomond.
We have just returned home after a very relaxing week staying in Little Briar Cottage. Kim and Fraser are wonderful hosts and made us feel so welcome and safe during our stay. We so appreciated their gift of Prosecco when they heard it was our wedding anniversary! The cottage is very private and comfortable and the grounds are amazing. The views can’t be beaten and watching the Loch change colour through different weather was fascinating. We explored the area around and the scenery along each route we took just reminded us of why the area is so loved by visitors. We ate out a few times at local restaurants but also barbecued and cooked at the cottage. Everything is provided that you’ll need for your stay. The outdoor fire pits are great for keeping cosy when the night air cools but you want to still enjoy the outdoor areas. We hope we’ll visit again. Thanks Kim & Fraser!…
