Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Everything about culag is fabulous, from the folks to the views to the beds , to the Food , can't fault it , a truly stunning place on a location to die for, and it's fun when the Boat comes out and you get to skim across the waters at high speed. Nothing is too much trouble for this place, a ride down to the Village if you don't want to drive and then a free collection. A long lie in the morning and still able to get a fresh-cooked breakfast the list goes On 10/10 Culag .

A lovely location of the shores of Loch Lomond, Patrick the host is very friendly and informative. The room was excellent with all facilities even seats outside on your own patio. A complementary drink is waiting for you in the lounge. The breakfast was outstanding with a large selection of cereal, fruits and pasties followed by cooked breakfast all served to perfection. well worth walking round as great views of the loch.

After an extensive search to find a place to stay on Loch Lomond I am so glad I found this little gem of a place, “what a find”!!!
Everything about Culag is amazing, you just feel so relaxed and you are made to feel so welcome by the owner Patrick and he honestly cannot do enough for you, Unlike the big hotels in the area I think he thrives on the enjoyment that his guests have staying at his place and he just never stops as he is always trying to improve the facilities that he has on offer.
My wife and I had the most wonderful 3 nights and will most definitely be back on our own or with our friends and family. The breakfast was cooked by Patrick’s wife Anne and is probably the most extensive I have ever had and it really sets you up for the day ahead, the accommodation is beautiful all on the loch side with stunning views over the loch and whether it’s wild swimming, kayaking, fishing, boating or jet skiing you wish to do Patrick has it all on site from his private beach available for rental at great prices and is more than happy to help you with anything you wish to do in the area even taking you over by boat if you wish to climb Ben lomond.
I would highly recommend Culag to anyone looking for pure relaxation or fun activities as a couple or family and this is definitely the Best place to jet ski on Loch Lomond and we are already planning our next stay, “CANT WAIT “!!!!!!!

Due to the corona virus situation all our flights were cancelled (All planes were grounded) and the government banned all travel. Patrick (From Culag) showed no empathy to our situation at all. He happily accepted the cancellation but refused to make a refund for the 40 pounds deposit we already made to him on 7 February.
He now has 40 pounds in his pocket and a room available which he can rent out again at 200 pounds for the night. How good is that!
We had one night booked for 9 May.
So, if you're planning to make a booking at Culag be aware of this and do not expect any empathy or help from the owner... at all!

Me and my partner had an absolutely incredible stay at Culag, we were there for 3 nights and didn’t want to leave! Patrick was the best host and so friendly and went the extra mile to accommodate all of our needs. The apartment we stayed in had a beautiful balcony over looking the loch. It seemed as though they had just updated the apartment with a brand new oven, dishwasher and updated the furnishings, it was absolutely spotless and everything was very tastefully designed. We also hired the kayaks from Patrick and this was absolutely the highlight , it was amazing that we had the opportunity to do this right from Culag. He has lots of other water sports too! We will absolutely be back again if we can , it was the best start to our Scottish tour.

What an amazing place. A 4 night stay in one of the courtyard rooms. These are classed as bed and breakfast but they are so much more than that. The 'room’ we stayed in had a fridge/freezer, full oven, 4 ring hob, microwave, toaster and the usual kettle all set in a kitchen area with a settee in the living area. Oh and did I mention the dishwasher. The views are beautiful and there is plenty of seating outdoors. Breakfast is a treat and Patrick will keep you entertained with his stories. Patrick and Anne are both so welcoming and make you feel special. Can’t wait to return.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for her birthday in March and didn’t have the best weather but had a great time! Patrick is the perfect host, really welcoming and is incredibly helpful with suggestions of things to do. He even gave us a lift to the pub for our tea because the weather was not so good. We stayed in his brand new renovated cottage block in the top floor suite. Beautifully converted, great views of snowy mountains, new jet shower and tv that comes out of the bed! All amenities available downstairs if you wanted to relax by the Loch, cook dinner in the kitchen or watch tv on the sofa. The cottage would be great to stay in for couples and families or to stay with a group of friends. Breakfast was made to order and all meat from local farms, with fresh fruit and cereals to start! Haggis and sausages were delicious and all served by Patrick with a smile. Location perfect for all things to do on Loch Lomond and breathtaking, peaceful views to wake up to. We will be definitely be returning!

What a wonderful place to stay, the view was stunning, to have the outside space was beautiful and a lovely added extra.

Patrick was a fantastic host, not too fussy but nothing was too much.

We stayed two nights we were in the area for a wedding which was being held in Lisa itself, Patrick was an absolute gent and offered us a lift to the wedding location on the day saving us the price of a taxi.

The breakfast was yummy and just what the dr ordered the day after the wedding.

I would definitely stay here again we had a fantastic time.

Thank you again Patrick.

We have just spent an amazing few days here, Patrick is the ultimate host and has a wealth of knowledge of the surrounding area. I would also recomend his tour of Loch Lomond on one of his boats, one of the highlights of our stay. We stayed in number 10 which had fantastic views of the loch the accomodation was spotless and had everything you need for an enjoyable relaxing stay. There is a mixture of self catering and room only accomodation. Luss is in walking distance and the area is fantastic i would encourage you to book as you wont be dissapointed we will definetley be back

Wow! This guesthouse was incredibly beautiful. The location is amazing, the hospitality received by Patrick was by far the best we have ever received by an owner. Providing hearty Scottish breakfast every morning.
Our room (guest house 10) had everything from a fully functioning kitchen (including corkscrew! pots and pans and even a cheese grater!) to a guide of best places to dine at all within a close radius. The small touches to this place go a long way.
We will for sure come back here again next year.
