Been going to the Lake for many years, and it is great to see that the Kitchen is back on form after a while of being rather indifferent. Very glad i went back. Menus are more imaginative and the execution of dishes remarkably better. Cracking mussel and clam chowder. Efficient and very friendly service. Would highly recommend for lunch anytime...

This has long been one of my wife and I’s favourite hotels and a recent stay reminded us why. Tea, coffee and warmed scones served in the lounge set the tone. They come free with the (admittedly fairly expensive) room price. Our room was magnificent, one of the best we’ve ever stayed in: Space enough to host a small cocktail...

My husband and I visited the hotel for lunch as an anniversary treat having got married at the priory on inchmahome island in 2012. What can I say other than everything was perfect and surpassed all expectations. We shared the mackerel salad starter which we both agreed was the best we had ever eaten, and the seabass I had was...

Small, quite well furnished room. Bathroom needed redecorating, slow shower, toilet required some persistence to flush! Dog friendly - so this may have been the dog room. However, we have stayed in many 4 star dog friendly hotels where the rooms were of a very high standard. Some enjoyable veggie meals for dinner and breakfast. Handy location for touring -...

We stayed one night on our way from Bristol to the Kintyre Peninsular. We wished we had been able to stay longer! The location is superb, with a great view over the lake from our ground floor room, which was lovely, spacious and well furnished. Dinner was very good and again we had a wonderful view over the lake. Staff...

Lovely hotel, fabulous views of the lake in the dining room and some bedrooms. The decor is New England, the place is super clean and the staff are exceptionally well trained, attentive and friendly. I expect this hotel would be super for a cosy break in the winter too.

My partner and I had a great weekend here. We were very lucky with the weather as it was sun and blue skies all weekend. Great hotel, lovely setting. Staff were welcoming and always extremely helpful and friendly. Nice bar and garden area for sitting outside with a few drinks and or with your complimentary scones and tea! Food was...

We had been here on a previous visit to Scotland so chose to come here again - we were not disappointed. The food and service were great again and prices are fairly reasonable. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Only stopped for one night, but will hopefully return again soon. The room was very clean, with excellent toiletries and very welcome Tunnock's wafer biscuits and teacakes! All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The food in the evening was plentiful and very good quality. The breakfast kept us going until 7pm! Excellent quality and huge portions. The views...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In The Trossachs National Park yet easily accessible, being an hour from Glasgow and Edinburgh and twenty minutes from both Loch Lomond and the ancient City of Stirling. You drive through some remarkable Scottish scenery and upon reaching Port of Menteith, the Lake unfolds before you with the hotel nestling lakeside. Inside you will find a delightful house, much enlarged from the original 19th Century Manse, fully refurbished in recent years. Our inspiration has been the unique Lakeside setting and natural habitat for seasonal and permanent residents such as Osprey, Otter, Geese, Swans our duck family and more. Decorated in the warm and welcoming style of a classic New England waterfront hotel with muted tones and the extensive use of local timber and stone, perfectly complimenting this special waterfront setting. ... more   less
