We were given an upgrade on arrival, lovely room with kingsize bed....although the window did bang in the wind all night, thus not the best nights sleep. Found the breakfast a let down for the standard of the hotel and dinner very expensive...two main courses (fish cakes and salmon) £37.00.... Service could have been better, enough staff hanging around but... More

Was looking for somewhere around Loch Lomond and many places were booked already. Found this hotel on a nearby lake on the edges of the park (1.20h from Edinburgh) and booked the last room available then night before. The location was simply amazing - something like 3 meters away from the lake, you could see the sunset from the bar!... More

Arrived far too early but our room was ready which was a real bonus. The welcome was one of the loveliest I have ever received. made to feel very welcome and a small tour of the main areas. Sat in the main bar area for an hour having tea & scones which were free and very tasty. Our room was... More

I'd heard a lot about this place and was delighted to finally get the chance to experience it. After a busy week I was looking forward to two nights of relaxation and I was not disappointed. My husband and I stayed in a Lake Superior Room, which was worth it for the views. The room was gorgeous, with a large... More

We visited the Hotel this evening for some comfort food and a nice glass of wine and what a delight when we discovered the fire was lite aswell! We enjoyed the lamb and risotto dish and the pheasant.. both of which were cooked to perfection and the service couldn't have been friendlier or more efficient. Jenny was especially lovely! We... We visited the hotels restaurant for a surprise 70th birthday party for my dad. The staff were nothing but helpful, the food was good and the hotel was elegant. The capstone is the amazing view over the lake. On a cold but clear autumn afternoon, watching the sun set over the lake was magical. It capped off a wonderful afternoon.

I have stayed here many times, and reviewed each trip, I hope to give any readers the opportunity to find out if any criticisms I may have made have been addressed and that the standards are being maintained. This trip was probably the best yet, lovely clean room overlooking lake ( the rooms vary so you need to ensure that... More

My husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights and had a wonderful time. On arrival we received a warm reception from the manager and took advantage of the afternoon tea being offered in the lounge. Our room was small but comfortable for a couple of nights. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner and found... More

This hotel has a lovely atmosphere and brilliant views. I did not stay over but the rooms looked amazing. It's suitable for kids and has great variations on the menu. The waiters and staff are all very nice and eager to help. The food came relatively quickly and was lovely and I couldn't fault it.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In The Trossachs National Park yet easily accessible, being an hour from Glasgow and Edinburgh and twenty minutes from both Loch Lomond and the ancient City of Stirling. You drive through some remarkable Scottish scenery and upon reaching Port of Menteith, the Lake unfolds before you with the hotel nestling lakeside. Inside you will find a delightful house, much enlarged from the original 19th Century Manse, fully refurbished in recent years. Our inspiration has been the unique Lakeside setting and natural habitat for seasonal and permanent residents such as Osprey, Otter, Geese, Swans our duck family and more. Decorated in the warm and welcoming style of a classic New England waterfront hotel with muted tones and the extensive use of local timber and stone, perfectly complimenting this special waterfront setting. ... more   less
