We were recommend the Black Boar by the owners of the house where we were staying, so we payed a visit to book a table. To be honest, when we found the Black Bull we were a bit confused as it is essentially a basic pub, (we were expecting to find one of these large pub/restaurant type places. However, upon... More

In the area and wanted a drink so found this place up a little side alley. Friendly staff and locals who made you feel welcome. Reasonable prices and nice to sit outside the sunshine for once in Scotland. Would certainly visit again if in the area.

Popped in for an evening meal with friends and thought we would be having typical pub food, however we certainly got a surprise, the food was exceptional. There is a good selection of food to choose from plus a separate Gluten free menu again with a good choice. The lady who waited on our table was very friendly and helpful.... More

Good food good beer and very helpful staff. The room was very clean if a little bit small but for only two nights was fine. the bar was busy and very friendly with a choice of three real ales. The bar food was very good and the service very friendly

Lovely pub B&B, very friendly staff and great pub food. We ate here in the evening and again for breakfast. The room was clean with a very comfortable bed. Highly recommended if you're looking for somewhere to stay in the area.

This is a small family-run hotel. Very friendly service. Excellent and reasonably-priced food and the only real ale in Duns. Pleasant restaurant and beer garden. The room we stayed in was clean and tidy, a good size with a large comfortable bed. The only drawback was the stairs which could be a problem to some as it was on the... More

Been to black bull quite a few times. Staff are generally polite and helpful but you can feel a bit squashed in if you eat/drink in the bar. There is a dining room which is nice but both that and a further dining room at the back are lacking in atmosphere and it's not very lively. Food is typically bar... More

We had the family suite on the top floor- two rooms and a shared bathroom. Everything was immaculately clean, with comfortable beds and nice towels(always important). We had an evening meal which we all enjoyed. There was a good choice, well cooked and presented. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. We would definitely...
