Everyone that comes to Scotland should stay a night in a castle. The family that owns it are very welcoming. You feel like it is your home to explore. The service was amazing. The grounds are stunning. The times are clean and comfortable. This is a must do

23 Friends and I stayed there in November. We expected it to rain every day but it did not we had sun for all five days we were there. The Lord and Lady of the castle were very accommodating. The castle was well insulated, it was nice and warm. I would go again

I've been in the Yellow Twin Room, it was really cozy. We could have some mates watching the wonderful gardens through the room window. We had tea service in the room. The beds were very comfortable and they had electric blankest just in case. The bathroom, though it was not warm enough, had a very nice bathtub, except for the...

Although Duns Castle was built in 1320, it has all the modern comforts we've come to expect today. The rooms are warm and there's plenty of hot water for baths and showers. The food is excellent - but the castle's greatest treasure is the hosts, Alick and Aline Hay, who are two wonderful people. They sit down to dinner with...

Duns is simply the best! A warm welcome for the weary traveller and really great yummy food served at breakfast lunch tea and dinner. All rooms are well appointed, furnished with lovely antiques and paintings and all of them are different - 4 posters in some and lovely expansive views over fields, gardens or the lake. Bathrooms are refurbished and...

If you want to stay in one of Scotland's prettiest and family owned castles, don't pass this up. The family is very hospitable and the rooms are the best. You can stay in your budget with the different options you have. You have breakfast and dinner with your hosts and tea in the drawing room. I have taken friends and...

This is an incredible place for a large group to come together for a celebration. I was lucky to be included. We stayed in the Pink Dressing Room and the accommodation was perfect. The Hay family does a remarkable job (including in this case catering for 45+) and you only have to speak for a moment with them to understand...
