My wife and I booked this fantastic property for ourselves, our children and our grandchildren to celebrate our 70th birthdays. We were greeted by our delightful hostess who had baked a cake and made sure that we had the essentials to see us through our first night. We cannot speak too highly of the warmth and hospitality we felt throughout our time in Whitehouse. We had the most fantastic stay, in amazing, huge and luxurious bedrooms. The entire house is huge and, having it all to ourselves, meant that exploring it was a great adventure for us all. Sitting in front of a roaring log fire on the huge, comfy sofas, until late and chatting, as a family together, was everything we'd hoped that it would be. A day trip to Edinburgh by car was an error. If you should visit Edinburgh, use the train. Everything else was memorable, for all the right reasons. Particularly enjoyable were the morning walks in the countryside, greeting the dogs and meeting the horses. Enjoying the luxury, combined with tranquillity was the true delight of our stay. Relaxing the hot tub, under a dark, starlit sky, observing Jupiter and The Pleiades with the naked eye... Wow! I have only two regrets regarding Whitehouse; I forgot to bring my astronomical telescope with me and...a stay here will always feel too short.

We had a lovely break away as a group of 6 adults and 4 children. Beautiful house and excellent facilities. Kitchen well stocked with everything we needed and plenty of space for everyone. Bedrooms were lovely and very comfy beds! Bathrooms and showers immaculate and really nice to have toiletries to use (especially if you forget something!) Plenty towels for everyone. Hot tub was an added luxury, possibly could have been a touch cleaner but we gave it a wipe ourselves and it didn’t prevent us using it. Lovely big garden to relax in, we were lucky with sunshine and enjoyed a few drinks sitting outside on the garden furniture. Angela checked in with us and made sure we had all we needed and we could text her with any issues. It was also nice to have fresh bread, eggs, jam etc waiting for us on our arrival. We would love to come back and stay again!

Set in the most stunning of rural locations with amazing views is Whitehouse Country House. This makes for the perfect base to get out and about which we did. The house is stunning and our bedroom was traditionally styled with a contemporary ensuite and offered all the facilities and more to be enjoyed by this 5 Star accommodation. Angela, our lovely host imparted lots of informationabout the area. Breakfast was tasty and very enjoyable too! Many thanks Angela and will be back in the not too distant future.

Whitehouse Country House stunning. The location is central to all the nice border towns, close to the Tweed, and the surrounding views are simply stunning. Our room/bathroom was spacious and spotless, I would take this over a 5 star chain hotel any day. Try one of Angela's home cooked suppers, take your own wine which Angela will be happy to chill for you.

Angela was the most hospitable host in all our days in Scotland, England, and France! After a day of hiking, unsure of our company's directions, and not wanting to walk on a busy highway, Angela was more than willing to pick us up at the end of the day's walk on St. Cuthbert's walk trail. After showing us the route to the trail head we would take the next day driving through the beautiful fields adjacent to her home, we arrived at her gorgeous Whitehouse Country House. She showed us to our beautifully appointed (even a clawfoot tub with a shower enclosure and signature Sea Kelp Scottish toiletries!)room. SO many nice little touches in our room. Being tired and hungry, she offered us a delicious and much welcomed pot of tea and freshly made banana bread snack before dinner in the Scottish country themed drawing room. She even had hard-to-find Diet Coke for my husband! She asked for our breakfast orders for the next morning and asked about any dietary restrictions. Dinner was served in her beautiful formal dining room resplendent with all the accoutrements. Dinner was AMAZING - one of our favorites of the trip - a spinach roulade starter, delicious homemade bread, roast pork, gravy, and mashed potatoes and sides. Dessert, the piece de resistance was a mango and passion fruit meringue that was just delicious. We then retired back to the drawing room for coffee and chocolates. Such an indulgent evening! We thoroughly enjoyed the other guests, just 2 more parties, and their dogs. Great conversations... After a wonderful night's sleep, Angela offered to dry our limited clothing in her kitchen (our luggage was lost for all 25 days of our trip). She was SO kind! Breakfast, again, was a fabulous meal. Hearty and flavorful, the perfect start to our day of trailwalking to our next town and B&B. Angela graciously drove us back to the trailhead so that we could avoid road walking as we started our hike for the day. I heartily recommend Angela's hospitality at the Whitehouse Country House and we would LOVE to return to Scotland even if just to see Angela and stay in her beautiful B&B again.

We chose the Whitehouse as our base for a cycling tour of this area- and are we glad we did. A beautiful location, lovely house with big bedrooms and bathrooms - and great views over the countryside. Angela was a great host - nothing was too much trouble and the tea and cakes when we arrived back were a real bonus. The breakfast menu was extensive but everything we tried was delicious and set us up for days riding. Plenty of covered storage for our bikes and we had some wonderful cycle routes to enjoy. Would thoroughly recommend a stay - whether being active or resting. It had all the facilities to do both.

Thank you Kevin for posting a review of your stay at Whitehouse Country House. There are many more "Petal cycling rides" for your group to enjoy and we hope that you will return to try some of them. We are also delighted that a couple of the non cycling group members , loved their trip to the "Tapestry of Scotland" in nearby Galashiels. I think they intended to go for an hour and stayed for the day, Best wishes to you all, it was a delight to have you to stay. Angela and the team at Whitehouse Country House

A delightful, luxurious country house- super comfortable bedroom and glorious bathroom, ideal for champagne in the bath with a view! Angela is a fantastic host, and cooked us a delicious dinner both nights of our stay. The cherry on the cake- House dogs Fudge, Toffee, Crunchie and Solo- and when we were there, Crunchie's adorable pups.

Angela couldn't have been a better and more Covid conscientious host. We had four lovely days in extremely comfortable and spacious rooms and wonderful breakfasts.I had almost given up hope of finding somewhere nice - last minute and in August - but we couldn't have been luckier and happier than finding Whitehouse. Many thanks from us all.

Felt compelled to pen a review as I’m sure some folk have reservations about travelling under present circumstances and this place has got it spot on! Just back from a stay at Whitehouse having taken a much needed Covid staycation! We had booked as part of the “Bring Your Bubble” offer that allowed for us to have exclusive use of three bedrooms (fabulous rooms with luxury bathrooms - even the twin rooms have double beds!) so we had ourselves, 2 teenagers plus granny and grandad (our bubble!). Even with the expected C19 restrictions in place, Angela Made us feel so welcome, we’ll looked after and comfortable. Food was fantastic and social distancing no problem at all. Would highly recommend as an excellent base to explore the Scottish Borders ( on day 3 we drove to Edinburgh- about a 40 minute drive). Super safe, super comfortable (amazing bathrooms) and well hosted - we will be sure to return.
