When a medical emergency occurred involving his teenage son, we were so grateful that my husband was allowed to stay at the Birchtree under Covid rules. Robbie was so helpful and communicative in the run up to my husband's arrival and him being able to stay nearby his son and the hospital really made a very stressful situation just a bit easier to manage. We hope to return under happier circumstances when Covid rules allow! Very clean and comfortable room. Thank you very much.
Stayed in sweetheart suite for 1 night on a business trip . Very comfortable bed, lovely big bath and shower room . Very quiet despite overlooking the road one side . Lovely to hear the river on the other. Unable to use any bar, restaurant facilities due to covid restrictions, but had a lovely takeaway pizza from next door . Andrew was very welcoming. Great value for money .
Andrew the manager gave us warm welcome and looked after us very well. Bar staff efficient and friendly. Evening meal fantastic. Great food and service for this last minute trip to see family before the new Covid restrictions came into force. Really appreciated being able to stay here. Made our Christmas! Thank you all at the Birchtree. We'll definitely return.
We received a warm welcome on entering and this continued throughout our stay. Our room (Sweetheart Abbey) was lovely and the stand alone bath, along with a huge shower, was a definite bonus. We also enjoyed sitting outside in the covered/open patio area overlooking the river. The bar and restaurant prices were excellent but credit must go to the young chef as his food was 5*. It was presented well and cooked to perfection. All the staff were lovely and very friendly and we will make sure to return and recommend the Birchtree to friends and family.
Booked in for three nights, the hotel is very nice staff very friendly arrived early so had a meal in bar which was lovely ,they then let us check in early which was good. room very nice only downside was it was overlooking main road which was very noisy with heavy traffic all through night so did not get a very restful sleep on any night . Breakfast was very good and lots of choice .room cleaned everyday although towels were never changed which was a bit disappointing saying we were there three nights . We could have probably asked for fresh towels but didn't all in all I would stay there again but would request a room off main road
